Personally I would say we need a more dynamic player next to him than Matic to compensate for his deficiencies
Fred. Ole is too much of an idiot to see it. Matic is better against smaller teams who park the bus but we need Fred who was our best central midfielder against the top 6 this season.

Not a bad shout. Whether Fred is good enough long term I’m not sure. But yeah at this stage I’d be tempted to go with Fred. I remember Pogba played well along side Herrera at times too.

Glad that you, Genius, is with us. Agree that Fred has been good and works against many teams, but Matic has been very good after lockdown. Also, after Pogba’s great start, we are back to discussing perfect parners for him. Never have there been such a world class midfielder so dependent on who plays next to him. It’s always someone else’s fault.

If you are making an argument, make the argument but just feck off with comments like this.

You mean when hes in a team thats far far better than everyone other team in the competition, he does well? Well god damn they should buy Lingard because even he can do well then.
I don’t believe your stupid enough to believe what you posted.

Yes Yaya Toure's defensive work rate isn't any better, but no one would say he can't play as a box-to-box. On the contrary, he is arguably one of the best in the decade. So I don't see why Pogba can't play in a similar 4-2-3-1 system with an extra attacking midfielder ahead of him. We defended well in 16/17 and 17/18 and things are only going to be better if we replace Lingard with Bruno in the offensive role.

The clip you attach is irrelevant to your point. It's definitely a poor game of his and we didn't have Bruno back then. Pogba was the only creative player in that 3-5-2 system, hence the fancy flicks and risky passes. If you're referring to the recent Sotton game, you can see he's heavily pressed and few were offering him support. He only made one or two touches most of the time but people still accused him for dwelling too long just because of the one mistake. I criticized him in #8019 for that but I don't think it's a general situation.

Different discussion, but Yaya was an incomplete midfielder whose flaws would get exposed everytime City would play in Europe against a decent team. They would get massacred in the middle of the park because of Yaya's lack of defensive discipline. Yaya works ok in the blood and thunder of the PL, but in the CL no chance. Despite having prime Silva, Fernandinho, Kompany, Aguero etc.

Pep rectified that by essentially showing Yaya the door.

And what has he achieved in the CL since doing that?

City as a whole have been exposed in the CL, I find it a bit baffling when Yaya is singled out. Funny that out of him, Kompany, Aguero and Silva, he's the only one that actually has a CL title. Even the world class De Bruyne has done very little in the CL thus far but no one will accuse him of only being suited to the blood and thunder of the PL.

You have summed up Pogba perfectly. Personally he will not do anything special here other than perform in one game and go missing for the next 9 games. Thats not what you want from your key player. People who defend Pogba's football should look at how someone like De Bruyne plays. That is what you call a world class footballer. The best thing that can happen at United is for Pogba to be sold, use that money to buy quality midfielders. We hear people say let's buy player x to play with Pogba or push Pogba further up the pitch or in the middle etc. That to me just means he doesn't know his role in a team, which at his age is worrying. It would better for his career to move and try a different team because it will never work for him here.
Christ. Please try getting a clue.

Pogba has has times where he has done well in an often flawed Manchester United team, helping us win the Europa in 2017, and getting into the PL team of the season last year, where he was top in just about every stat for us, including goalscoring and assisting. We should be looking to build a team that is better than the competition, Pogba or no Pogba. And that is definitely going to be no Lingard ffs.

With the arrival of Bruno I would say sell him and get a different player. At this moment in time, someone like Fred will do a much reliable job than Pogba. Pogba cannot tackle, cannot run back and lose possession a lot. We already have Bruno doing it too. At least he can run back and Fred WILL run back and tackle too. Just get Fred to do things he does better and let Bruno do things he does better. Pogba is not going to be missed if we get another quality midfield player.

Pogba and his fan boys have run out of excuses now. He is not the player that people think he is. He is just a good player nothing more than that. You can not expect to be earning top dollar and keep putting in Lingard level performances. The other day he was outperformed by a 33 year old Mark Noble. Its sad that such a talented footballer seems not to care or even see the need to perform better than he is doing now. He loses possession cheaply on the pitch and strolls around the pitch like he has no care in the world. That is not what you expect from a so called world star.

There is nothing to debate here about his usefulness. His fanboys are simply too blinded by their love for him to realise no matter what United management can do, they can not change the nature of a person. He is careless and temperamental by nature. It should be obvious to anyone who follows United by now. Lapse in concentration is one thing but it happening over number of years shows a pattern and nature of a person. United should get rid of this guy asap if we are to become serious challengers of EPL trophy once again.

You do realize that the "Pogba fanboy club" includes arguably one of the greatest ever players to play in midfield (Zidane), and of course Ole?

I think the Pogba fanboys are in really good company.

You have said this multiple times already...isn't once enough? You don't think Pogba is world class but he is a good player. okay, that is fine...we want good players here right?

Ohhhhh. And yet the people that sign the checks at Real said no way. I don't see anyone giving a shit about Paul Pogba right now.

His performances and consistency will obviously improve next season once his fitness and stamina improves. He's been out for a very long time.

He's obviously a phenomenal player on his day, but I'm not sure we can trust him with a mega 5 year contract. You look at Ozil and players like that. Once the ink is dry on their final mega contract, suddenly they put their feet up. I wouldn't be surprised if Pogba would do something similar as his desire and leadership qualities have always been in question.

Except they didn't. The people who sign checks at Man Utd said no way.

Secondly you're not implying that the business people know more about football than Zidane?

And by your logic, Bruno must not be a very good player...since no one apparently wanted him other than Utd...right?

Real Madrid wanted him so much they offered four part time players in exchange for him. Odegaard, James Rodrigues, Lucas Vasquez and Brahim Diaz.

Some fecking offer.

It will be the equivalent of us offering Lingard, Rojo, Angel Gomes and Dalot to Dortmund for Sancho.

If Madrid/Zidane really want him they would put in a serious cash offer.

I'm sure you can appreciate the fact that the coach decides who he wants and there is a separate department at the club responsible for making it happen whose approach does not reflect the desires of the manager?

And James Rodriquez is a player on par with Bruno by the way.

He really gets a rough deal around these parts. Bruno on the other hand can spend an entire match passing it to our opponents and nobody seems to care.
This./

He’s not the best midfielder in the world but he’s a damn good one; & a rather vocal amount of his own clubs fans can’t seem to wait for him to have a poor game so they can recycle the same nonsense.

Bruno has sh*t the bed a few times over the past few weeks & it’s a non-issue.

We’re not playing well as a team but this thread is always rife with criticism when others also aren’t up to par.

Goodluck getting more than 50m from that fanboy.

Give it a few years and Bruno will also be targeted.
I mean it already started, check his thread.

If you have an opinion on what I have posted re: Pogba, then state it.

Otherwise do not waste my time giving me a notification to state your rather irrelevant opinion on how I post.
Another childish post. This thread is full of them, especially yours. People talking about Pogba's silhouette to calling anyone that doesn't think he's all that an anti french racist to your master piece of what Zidane thinks. That's how scousers justified their delusional opinion of Gerrard.

Just got this feeling today will be Pogba's last Premier League match for United, hopefully he goes out with a Bang.

No white text needed.

You do realize that if your feeling is correct, it probably means we are losing and missing out on CL as that would probably be the only situation that Pogba aggressively pushes for an exit. Otherwise, no team really has the money to go in for him this summer.

I don't think it will necessarily be Pogba trying to force his way out, it will as likely be Ole deciding to move him on.

Fred. Ole is too much of an idiot to see it. Matic is better against smaller teams who park the bus but we need Fred who was our best central midfielder against the top 6 this season.

What qualifies you to be calling Ole an idiot?

Back on thread, Pogba owes the club and his team mates a big performanc!

If we can make Pogba dominate like Yaya domestically and win us the PL, I'll take that all day long. After that, we'll think about the CL.

Pep always wants to build a technical side with no box-to-box, this doesn't necessarily mean Yaya isn't a good player. Sane is shown the door this season and he's not bad either.

Not on this planet.

A good player on his day,but his day are few and far between. Has the talent to be a world class player, but doesn't have the drive and tenacity that most world class athletes have. I don't think he's going to change.

A world class player will still stand out in a bad team.He is not the world player that he,his fan boys and agent think that he is.He is like a science experiment, he needs all the variables to be perfect to produce a good outcome, ne needs a good dm to free him, needs a good no 10 to share the creative burden, he needs Manchester to be at room temperature.

His fans are running out of excuse, I would have Fred play instead of him,at least you will get effort from Fred.Pogba?

It's going to be a mistake to give him a new contract, never mind an improved one,I would rather use his wages and pay van der beek(100-150k) and Graelish(150k -200k).Both have United vibes about them .I would rather have a player that will give me 6/10 performances in a season than a player that will give me 9/10 performances five games in a season.

He owes me personally a big performance, never slated him or go overboard with my praise of him.
