AWB supposedly having to go into quarantine because of where he went on holiday as well. Ighalo went to same place so he will have to as well.
These bloody holidays. No pre season and Corona infections on holidays. Not looking good for us.
We are just waiting for Ed Woodward to get infected and we announce that there are no transfers without him.

Good thing all Americans are under the age of 35 then!
Yep and any over 35s that do exist can’t catch it from people under 35 anyway 170,000 dead in the US alone already so far...

It is not known which of the players have tested positive. The Telegraph report that six players have the virus and a further two are quarantining because of close contact with those affected.
Not saying if it's wrong or not but it's a typically poor DM article. Mount, Abraham and Pulisic are in isolation due to being in Mykonos but the article is clearly trying to say they are also the positive tests.

Either way, if 8 players can't train or play for at least 14 days there is no way Chelsea can restart the season in a little over 2 weeks.

Not his biggest fan, far from it, I’m 6 ft and 14st, there’s bound to be bigger out there than me but I wish him a speedy recovery.

Yes and the Telegraph is reporting it and not putting the Sun as the source. So you are saying that @duffer is right and the Telegraph is wrong?
Maybe he has Chelsea TV and they are saying different of their official sources. Would you believe the Sun/Telegraph over United's official sources. Actually don't answer that.

People need to calm down. Do you know the rate of death for people in their 20s? Now take into consideration that he's an elite athlete, what do you think the chance of him dying is?

You guys act like covid is the end of the world virus. It's really not. Maybe too much CNN for some of you.
Higher than when he didn't have the virus.

But no, I don't think he'll die. I was just responding to the odd comment of wishing him well despite not being his biggest fan.

Contraction would surely be socio-economic though? As in, cramped into tight spaces etc. It's hardly a case of white people somehow being more resistant with better immune systems? Unless they're healthier in general.

Do you have a link to the studies?
But isn’t that due to the fact that they largely live in more deprived areas largely due to our racist society?

Surely it can’t be genetic?
As far as i'm aware no one really knows - its just the surface level statistics. I don't think anyone drilled down into the specific cases and what the background of those people that contracted it have been (and if they have I haven't seen it!).

I mean one thing to say is that BAME population have jobs which rely more on social interaction (drivers, doctors etc.) so that could be a factor.

My wife for example is of ethnic minority, but then she works as a Pharmacist in a hospital, so with that level of patient interaction she is automatically at a higher risk of contracting the disease then your average joe.

Pogba has had multiple medicals. The last one being 4 years ago before he made an 89 million pound move. If they didn't detect anything with his health, then I'm not sure what the point of those medicals are.

If his wife didn't think there would be a chance of her catching the virus then maybe she needs to think more.

Healthy young people die of other things too and the real number of deaths we will never truly know as some hospitals are incentivized to report covid deaths. Keep living in fear and hysteria though, only 2 more weeks I promise.
Tell that to Daley Blind who didn't know he had a heart condition and only got diagnosed in December.

You keep living in your Fox News bubble though.

Yeah I imagine it's like this for many people - where I worked, people lived 12 to a house so there were massive outbreaks. I'd imagine socio-economic conditions affect getting it more than ethnicity. Again, I haven't done or read studies on this so I'm not saying I'm right, just how it seems to me

I hope he'll recover soon, I guess he'll be all right in a week or 2, hopefully negative.
It may damper our start of our season and I hope there wont be more players positive.

I'm not attempting to speculate what his source is. I will certainly believe the Telegraph over a random Chelsea fan on Redcafe

Hasn’t the press only named clubs where players have been positive, generally?

soon as Pogba gets it, its yellow ticker front page news!

Oh I'm not saying there aren't 6 positive tests in the squad. Their names haven't been released though and the DM is doing it's best to insinuate it's those three.

Some of the replies in here are weird.

Wish Pogba the best, and from a football perspective i'm glad he should feature in our first match of the season.

Footballers have been partying all summer with scant regard for social distancing. I bet there will be a decent number testing positive.

Pogba doesn't drink, but I'm sure he's been social and out and about like most people have. Things got a bit lax once Europe opened for international travel and vacations. It's swiftly closing again now of course.

The only "upside" is that the infected demographic this time around will primarily be younger people, while the older and at risk folks have generally been doing a good job being very cautious.

Already, some of the stuff being written in here crosses the line.

6 Chelsea players too. I think we may see a rise in players positive for the viruse thus maybe postponing the beginning of the season.
