Wow....I hope your joking. He was a great player for United but has managed relegation teams throughout his career. He's currently managing a championship side, how could he possibly bring United back to challenge City. Bruce:lol::lol:
That was funny man, you cheered me up.
He has never had the resources for a start but has always done well, with Hull, Brum and close with Villa last season. I like him, its unconventional in the current world of the fashionable manager but I reckon he is worth a shot.

Simeone is a winner, and a bit of a B*stard. He's the one I can least see failing and so I'd go for him, I'm not longer in favour of the holier than thou notion when it comes to our next manager. He can play conservative football, and still score 4 or 5, I'd be happy if he implemented fast counter attacking football and a steely mentality.
The last person we need, we have drifted far enough from attacking football. Time to bring back positive entertaining football, we don't need that gangster:lol:
Seriously though, he need to bring back to our traditional style and take the game to teams. Not sitting back being compact focusing on what they do.

Steve Bruce - He's very experienced, knows & has genuine love for the club. He'll have the players respect hvaing worn the shirt and should allow someone like him to build for the long term. I like the current assistance to support him Carrick & McKenna...

No love for Arteta? I actually would love him to succeed Emery 4 years later as head coach in arsenal.

You are serious, jesus man. That's beyond unconventional, it's ludicrous. Everton job is to big for Steve and we had one of there managers. That gamble turned in to a right car crash. We need good entertaining football and someone with experience of managing in Champions league too.

For me, next manager depends upon when the job is available. If we are talking next summer with a full transfer window to put his stamp on the squad and financial backing then probably we have a wide range of options, including Zidane is he really is interested. If we have a truly horrible start to the season and Mourinho is sacked after 10 games then I think Zidane would be the wrong choice as we would need someone to come in and improve the performances of our current crop of players - someone who can lift their spirits and work with limited options but not just a caretaker as there’d be so much of the season to go. Probably a Poch type manager which would be a nightmare to get mid season. If Jose was sacked with a handful of games to go then it wouldn’t really matter - any caretaker to see us through to the end of the season would be fine.

In terms of who I’d personally want to see, I’m more in the camp of moving to a young, enthusiastic manager who would be excited to be here and not be afraid to have a go. The Poch type as “proven” managers have really backfired on us. We’ve had so much negativity and dourness now, a bit of enjoyment is much needed. I’m not a dedicated world football follower so I don’t know a lot of the alternative options out there but someone of the Eddie Howe ilk might reinvigorate things and make it all a lot more interesting. I appreciate David Moyes was probably deemed to be of this type and he was obviously an absolute disaster!! But I think that type of appointment is the right one, just hopefully a better selection this time around.

Refuse to entertain the idea. Miurinho all the way, unless he's sacked which, unfortunately, I think is the direction this shitshow is heading.

If Mourinho were sacked right now then it would have to be between Zidane and Poch. My preference would be for Poch, and given Spurs transfer window, now might be the time to go for him.
I've always supported Mourinho and wanted him to get the job. I honestly didn't expect the football to be as shit as it has been. But I just want to enjoy watching Utd again.
I don't think we'll sack him until top four is on real jeopardy or gone though. Think the Board will be satisfied with this. Hope I'm wrong.

Tbh we have spurs, burnley and Chelsea next, if we somehow come out of all those without a win or points he will be on VERY thin ice if not sacked.

True. But I think he'll scrape through. Having said that, we usually come back from the first international break and hit the skids.

I really like the cut of Sarri's jib over at Chelsea

Attacking mentality, doesn't care about the transfer market, well spoken, positive.

I'd like a manager like that.

I would like a bit of a blank slate personally. Dont want to go down the experienced manager route with the likes of Ancelotti or Allegri nor the more defensive route like Simeone. Quite a few of the names on that list have failed recently also and why on earth is Guardiola on the list now?

I would like a young, attack minded visionary manager. Obvious ones on the list would be Pochetinno that I dont see happening and Silva has impressed me too but not sure he is quite ready. Somebody like that or the Hoffenheim manager or sure it has been mentioned but onyl read last few pages, even SOuthgate. I think best way I would put it is someone with a vision rather than "philosiphy" Earlier post sums it up very well:

Hopefully we go for a younger manager who is on the upturn of their career rather than the downturn like our last 3 appointments.
Would also like some big names from our history more involved. We have Butt in the academy seems to be doing well. Carrick in a coaching role appears to be getting well recieved by the players. I would like to see the Salford trie of Giggs, Scholes and Neville involved in some capacity, one of them maybe somehow linked closely in partnership with a director of football in overseeing scouting targets all the way down from youth to the first team identifying players. People that love the club as it isnt there at the very top is it.

Yeah why hire a proven winner when Wenger is available. Will bring positive attacking football as well.

Wenger could do neither at the end, think your missing my point. You can still play attacking entertaining football, while keeping defensive discipline. Simeone would not be suited to Man United in opinion, would not be a positive move.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Poch or Jardim.

Pochs PL experience gives him edge.

Both clubs will moan (especially Levy).... feck it, chuck shedloads of cash at them. Right now, getting the right manager is miles more crucial than any player - we pay tens of millions and ridiculous wages for players so do it for a manager.

(Wanted Jose, maybe sooner though.... not working, be amazed if he lasts season).

It's beyond silly to imagine that Pochettino would abandon Spurs for United just weeks after signing a new, 5 year contract, especially now that the season has begun.

Nagelsmann is going to Leipzig. It'll be Conte or Zidane by next season.
Big no on Conte. Was not a big fan of his football nor his touchline histrionics. He's also supposedly not the easiest guy to work with so I doubt Woody would go for him right after getting rid of Mourinho.

Zidane I'm not sure on. He had an unreal team and there is a lot of variance in knockout competitions like the CL. That's not to say he couldn't be a managerial genius, just that winning 3 CL's in a row doesn't necessarily mean he is.

Just sack Mou already, get Zidane in as interim til the end of the season, and then make a decision together with the new DoF..

I like the look of that Nagelsmann fella, but he’s joining Leipzig at the end of the season...

I’d take Jardim with set goals and spending ability. I like his tactics and I think it would be the cheapest and best option for the future.

Year 1: Top 4 minimum
Year 2: Top 2 and Quarterfinals of Champions League
Year 3: EPL winners and Semifinals of Champions League

Anyone mention Biesla yet?

The way things usually go, Biesla will probably leave Leeds in a couple of months about the time Mourinho goes into full 3rd season meltdown.

Biesla will then get our team playing fantastic football for 18months before they all break down from the intensity.

Maybe so. But Conte does have previous experience with Pogba and he's the only good manager currently out of a job that could come into work immediately.

Everyone clamoring for Pochettino, but I'm not sure if he'll jump at the opportunity given the multi-year extension he's got from Levy.

I wonder what our fans will be looking for in our next Manager.

I'd say for myself right now, I'd be more than willing to get in a coach who'll be willing to bring through some of our younger players and look to potential, rather than buying the end product. Been such a long time since we'd actually just go for it in games. Team really needs a spark. Is tiresome seeing our 'well drilled' players taking the safe decisions season after season.

I'd expect the owners to look for someone who can work on a budget and secure top 4

Correct me if I'm wrong. Jose plays rashford on weekly basis, promoted mctominay, perreira, lingard.

And you still want him gone.

We have a top 3 of Pochettino, Simeone and Giggs. How on earth does Giggs get among that company?

I would like us to look closer to home and give someone like Howe a chance. Proven he can hack it in the Premier on a shoestring budget. Plays nice football as well. With better resouces and better players, who knows what he might bring? The only thing with bringing a novice in (not won anything worth noting) is we have to look at Moyes situation.

Zidane i a big name, but had a fantastic team already, with Ronaldo as the GOAT playing. Hes unproven outside that environment, so would he be all that here? We signed Mourinho as it guaranteed a title in his first 2 seasons and we can all see how that turned out.

Whoever we bring in has a massive rebuilding job and will probably not attract the worlds best players, unless the board stump up astronomical wages.

Not just the manager. We need a complete overhaul regarding all football matters at the club.

Glazers won't go. So no point discussing that.

Woodward should appoint a proven DoF and give whoever that is, the complete control over transfer related activities.

The players look half ar**ed. They don't look like they want to fight, they want to play for Jose. (Not saying that players are not at all responsible for this current mess). We need a manager who can motivate these guys, who will push them every day to give their best and of course some fearless, positive football. Rooney left, Zlatan Left, Carrick left. We need leaders in the dressing room. We will have to bring in 4-5 by next season.

We will need a fresh new start, again.

I’d expect him to leave one day. Not sure where I said I want him gone. Thread isn’t a Jose out, it’s regarding the inevitable, he will be replaced at some point...
