To be honest, I think any appointment other than the return of moyes would seem like an improvement atm, at least a breath of fresh air. Poch would be cool but can't see it happening. Zidane would on the surface seem exciting but then again a bit of a gamble. Why not Joachim Low? Plenty of experience and success on the biggest stages of them all. Obviously would have to put up with the finger sniffing antics but rather that than watching Mourinho tear the club apart
He has only 3 players from his league winning team. Monaco bought players with potential and not the finished product to keep the trend of selling for profit.
Indeed. Looking at his record he appears to be able to adapt a team to play to their strengths, changing formations to suit the players he has available, something that Jose can't or won't do. With Monaco struggling at the moment, it may be an opportune time to go for him.

I feel our young squad would embrace him better than Jose, and he could unlock the potential we have.
Obviously it’s a gamble as he isn’t massively experienced, but as it is we aren’t going to win the league, so why not give him a year or 2 to build with no pressure?.

My personal opinion is that I dont be believe a foreign coach is what we need right now. The club needs to get back to the right philosophy in terms of style and sticking by their youth. Another foreign coach would just muddy the waters further. Would like the club to appoint a director of football with a wealth of experience to ensure the club is run right from top to bottom then bring in a young manager who can deliver the right style of football in the long term.
Im not sure if he has been mentioned but what about Eddie Howe? He comes across as really likable character, very bright, very positive, he plays a right brand of football and has an ethos that I think would suit the Man Utd. Yes, he doesn't have the experience of dealing with a big name players and a club of our scale...... not many do but he has all the right characteristics required to succeed.

I’m not gonna even pretend I know much about Bournemouth’s style aside from the odd highlights on Match of the Day or when we play them but the received wisdom is that they play decent football.
Couple that with the fact he’s young, doesn’t seem to throw his players under the bus and managed to get Bournemouth promoted to the top flight and keep them there means he might not be a terrible shout if Poch isn’t available. His career thus far is not dissimilar he’s just not had the chance to manage at a top six team.
Going the route of hiring managers based purely on their trophy haul clearly hasn’t worked for us and we need a new approach.

Edie Howe is terrible in the transfer market. The thought of him at United without a DOF is terrifying.

You either need experience of managing a big club or being in a big club environment. You need experience of managing big name players, being a big name player or playing alongside big name players, I would also suggest you need experience of what big games, cup finals and European football is like in some capacity. Im pretty sure Eddie Howe, good as he has been up to his current level ticks little or none of these boxes.

We can sack Mourinho, and i'm not completely against that, but I think the manager is only the tip of the problem. There is obviously some huge deeper problems within the club, I don't know what exactly but there is something poison in our club. We've had 3 managers since Sir Alex retired and with every one of those we have ended up being desperate to see them sacked, is that a coincidence? I don't think so. All 3 of those managers were highly successful elsewhere, particularly LVG and Mourinho, Moyes didn't win trophies but he done a fantastic job at Everton. I'd love to know what way we'd be if we gave Moyes more time and backed him in the transfer market. Would we be worse off now? I don't think so, we are looking as lost and clueless as we have ever done since Fergie retired and chopping and changing the manager isn't going to change that. I bet any man a pound that if we get Zidane, by the time 2021 comes round we will be begging to see the back of him like we have the other 3, we've lost our identity, and I've no idea how to get it back, I doubt anyone does. I just don't know anymore.

I think they should employ a director of football first before even thinking about making a full time managerial appointment.
The only other employment they should make is a caretaker till the end of this season.
He's not necessarily a bad manager bur the job will be too big for and he will mostly be out of his depth here.
