In no way did we deserve to win, didn’t show up an out classed by a better unit. Some points:

- Ref destroyed the game, 5 yellows in 35 mins was a disgrace and by that account Matic should have seen a couple of yellows. How Kipembe was on the pitch for the goal was beyond me.

- some of us got a reality check. Yes Neymar and Cavani were out but any team with Di Maria and Draxler supplying a lethal Mbappe is always going to cause problems.

- Still would say this was the tactical destruction of Ole. He had zero chance to make ‘tactical subs’ when Martial and Lingard came off at half time.

- Always been a defender of him but Luke Shaw’s final ball is a disgrace!

This is what happens when we play converted wingers as FB and reward them with new contracts year after year. Our deliveries from wide was shocking. Our corners were shocking and this has been a trend. We will keep going out in Europe until we field quality players in each position.

Ref killed the game from the start by being a card-happy douche bag.

Like I said in the match day thread, Mata and Sanchez shouldn't be on the pitch at the same time and Ole has to take responsibility for that. Lukaku with either player in false 9 role would have been much better which would have still give us the ability to stretch PSG. Obviously, Ole didn't expect to make those two changes so early on bur I hope he learns from that.

In fact, I'd just get rid of Sanchez and Mata and let us put our trust into what Ole is doing.

We got beat tonight due to inexperience on and off the pitch and let that be a lesson to us moving forward.

Bring on Chelsea.

Outplayed, particularly in the second half. Never really had a sniff really, but how the ref didn't give fouls for some of Kimpembe's challenges, never mind a second yellow cost us big time.

Honestly people need to get a grip if they think not bringing on Lukaku earlier was actually any kind of blunder.

Mata, Lukaku, Sanchez. They are all absolutely shite replacements to bring on at this level. That's an inescapable fact. None of them are bringing you back from a 2-0 deficit against PSG, ever.

We were fecked the second Martial's groin went and triply fecked the second Lingard felt his calf (?).

Aaahhh yes. I forgot the joys of the Champions League ...unparalleled garbage refereeing.

PSG were the better team. By far. We lost the match as soon as Lingard and Martial were forced off. We lost the tie with Pogba going off...for yet another disgraceful European night decision. So much worse than Nani's sending off.

"Martial...He's isolated Skrtel here..."
Not sure what people expected after Martial and Lingard both went off. Our initial 11 and tactics were excellent and we could have scored in the first half if not for some piss poor passing on the break. But we all knew our defense was mediocre at best, and losing our two attackers meant we didn't have the same bite when soaking up pressure and hitting on the counter. I thought our pressing in the first half was fantastic. Herrera was horrendous in any sort of attacking role when we needed him to be better, since it was evident PSG wasn't going to let Pogba beat them and create everything.

All in all, you see where our lack of quality shows against these top teams. At minimum we need an RB, CB, RW, and probably another attacker for depth and midfielder. PSG didn't have two top class attackers and could still roll our Draxler and ADM in their place. Meanwhile Mata, Lukaku, and Sanchez are a farcry from that off the bench.

We fought our asses off and got screwed by the ref several times, especially with the Kimpembe and Pogba dealings. Move on, and come back to play against Chelsea. The fans who are going to skewer Ole or the players need to get a grip on reality though, especially the same ones who thought we would beat fecking PSG 3-0 tonight. Hopefully Lingard and Martial are okay.

What an utterly dreadful performance. No one stood up to be counted, no one took any responsibility. The players played within themselves, no teamwork. Men against little school boys.

People saying we should put out the reserves for the return leg.. Focus on the league to be in the same position next year? Switch in mind set needed. Terrible result but we have to go there and try to turn it around.

Pathetic ref. Ruined all flow in the game. Kimpembe should have been sent off. No way that was a second yellow for Pogba. Unbelievable.

We weren't in control for more than about 20 percent of the game. Most of the first half was a cagey 50/50 contest. They simply outclassed us in the 2nd.
They did nothing until mata and Sanchez came on and gave them a free reign to attack our flanks. Martial and Lingard had them occupied most certainly. It was definitely in our favour and I would've backed us to get a result without the original plan being screwed. But the ref would've put an end anyway.

Awful showing in the 2nd half.

We just are a long way from Europe's elite unfortunately.

We need a big summer.

We were simply schooled. PSG proved they are a level above us currently. The injuries to Martial and Lingard hurt us big time. But PSGs class hurt us more. They simply man marked our play maker Pogba, and presseed us into submission. Whilst expertly snuffing out any counter attack threat. Rather than play poorly. They made us poor. Kudos to Tuchel and his team.

The best team won. No arguments.

Bad night for us, however the decision not to give Kimpembe a second yellow was crucial.

Felt we lack creativity in final third, no one with a killer pass and a massive over reliance on pogba.

We carried mata and Sanchez second half.
Agree they were better than us. We were unlucky with the injuries, they should have had a red card as well, but we were not unlucky with the result.

An embarrassing defeat. Paris St Germain were barely tasted.

Tonight we saw how much we have suffered from being absent from the highest level of European football. We looked nervous from the off. In the first half we had plenty of opportunities to counter but unlike against Spurs and Arsenal we lacked the composure. The occasion got the better of the team.

We also saw how lacking the squad is despite our spending. As soon as Martial and Lingard went off injured we were done. That would happen to most clubs of course. Its tough to keep going after losing two of your first XI attackers. However, that itself illustrated the difference between us and the likes of PSG: Cavani and Neymar were not missed.

Lastly we were reminded of something we know: Our defending is not up to scratch. PSG were able to play through us quite easily and, arguably, both their goals should have been cut out. Pogba and Matic judge the flight of the corner properly and the first doesn't come in. Bailly judges the path of the ball and he can cut it out.

With the referee handing out cards like a casino croupier it was inevitable someone would get sent off from our side.

We are going to need a night like Turin 99 to go through in Paris.
Think this is a good assessment- I thought today was a lot about the occasion but also that there is a bit of balance missing in the team. PSG were missing big names but the team still had a good balance to it, for us once we lost Martial/Lingard the options we had just aren't a good fit together at this level. Personally I see a lot of people saying it was an even first half but I can't shake feeling that PSG were just feeling us out and then were ready to turn it up a gear when needed.

We should not underestimate the difference between aside that is well drilled and coached, vs a team that is effectively playing on innate ability. Whether our permanent manager is Ole, Poch or whomever, there is still much work to be done and we need time for that.

The loss is one thing. This is really a tie we could afford to lose given we want top four (more achievable than CL), but the injuries could be disastrous.

We were never in it imo. We had no real threat upfront. Think this may do Ole a lot of harm. We’ve just got Chelsea, Liverpool, PSG again, City and Arsenal in the next 5 weeks.

Shaw, Matic and Sanchez aren't good enough. Solskjaer was poor tonight too, took so long to react.

Until Lingard and Martial went down injured we were absolutely fine. Two subs at half time knocked us down and a goal from a player who should have been off killed us. PSG are not that good.
This, the ref determined the outcome of the game, whilst we had Lingard and Martial,PSG did not want to come out and play, fecking Kimpembe could have been sent off twice, typical over reaction from some fans after a fantastic couple of months, one defeat and everything's doom and gloom again.

Poor in the second half but the ref made us look much worse than we were. Absolutely disgraceful decision not to send Kimpembe off, he had the whistle in his mouth ffs. Bottled it.
Nearly as bad as not sending Young off? Come on mate the ref didn’t beat us we were outclassed.

Mata and Sanchez just don't come close to matching what Lingard and Martial should offer, so our tactic of the first half was completely killed off. Think Mata did alright, but he's still not the level we require. Sanchez is just an imposter at this point.

Not bringing on Lukaku sooner was daft, we were screaming out for something different.

I think the management team bottled it a bit, too scared of Mbappe's pace and consequently set the team up too deep. They really struggled to build from deep and we should have been pinning them in their own half.

You can't just play more negatively against the top teams and expect to counter at home, they're too clever in Europe and they can manipulate the referees too easily. We were incredibly poor though, you can't account for so many missed passes really.

Marquinos impressed me, and particularly his array of passing. We focused too much on Veratti and let the Brazilian boss the game.

Had our pants pulled down as Europe watched on.

We've fallen an awfully long way in the last few years and nights like tonight are a painful reminder of that. We're tarnished.

But there is at least some light at the end of the tunnel for the first time in a long while, so we go again.

Simply beaten by a better side. More mature as a team, more experience, more quality.

Ref, substitutions made little difference. It's pretty much where we are, no disgrace in that.

What is important is keeping our heads up .

It would have been nice to get a good result tonight. But it's not the end of the tie or the world. Although qualifying looks highly unlikely.

United will bounce back. Beating Chelsea in the FA Cup would be a great start.

Oh pipe down you muppet! - every right to go into this game with confidence and optimism.
Having confidence is good, I was confident we can win 2-1. Lots of people predicting we can finish the tie today is delusion.

You don’t win the big titles with players like that. Just not good enough.
Lingard offered pace and energy. Add Lindelof to that list instead. Will never hold at the absolute top. Showed it today.

Weaknesses we knew were there were exposed at this level. We don't have enough depth and replacing Martial and Lingard with the ponderous Mata and Sanchez screwed our game plan.

Kimpembe should have been off before he scored another shan referee in a competition where we've come up against plenty.

Hope injuries are not serious with the Chavs and the dippers up next.

This game just showed the lack of some players United desperately needs, a striker, a central defender, right back and a midfielder. And Sanchez, Mata could go not tomorrow but yesterday, they aren’t players for United.

Got found out against a half fit Paris team. Solksjaer has hoodwinked everyone, myself included. Really thought it'd be a proper showing tonight, got a jose performance instead.

It was over before it even started. Injuries, suspension to main players. Hope the positive if not run continues in the league though.

No Pogba, and probably Martial/ Lingard in the second leg.

This tie is a done deal. Game over.

Mata, Sanchez, Lukaku, Young just not good enough for us. We'll never win anything with dross like that.

We were somehow unlucky losing Martial and Lingard but let's face it they have better players IMO. I hope Ole can learn from that and try to do better in Paris. And bounce back quickly as possible. That will show who he really is after such a defeat.

Better side won. First goalscorer shouldn't have been on the pitch.

Poor performance. Oles about to get his first hairdryer out. He looked furious.
It will be interesting to see how Pogba and Martial react to Oles hairdryer.
