What a fecking change from our first round-game against Sheffield Utd last year, which was one of the worst games of football ever played. We've improved massively under Mourinho and we're going to get even better. Enjoying every second of our games now.

Would have loved a few more goals from the chances we created, but goals for Rooney, Martial and Rashford - can't complain too much.

Only concern is Rojo's injury. Anyone know the severity of it?

Some of our attacking play was very, very nice. Martial and Rashford the sky is the limit for these fellas.

Easy game for a second string team. Rashford and Martial both staking a claim for a spot in our strongest XI.

Shame about Rojo, hope it's not serious. Only downside to today's game.

442 direct first half brought back memories of an era gone past. Entertaining game. Reading were gash

Brilliant game. Should have been 8 or 9 easily. Rashford could have scored 5.

Would have been a 1/2-0 borefest under LvG.

Good to watch us now.

Easy peasy, could have been more. We got the job done.

Hope Rojo is all right.

They were shite but the football is on another level compared to what we've experienced in recent years. Long may it continue.

Could have scored 10+ goals with some better finishing. 4-0 after an attacking display will do.

Did anyone see Rooney offer his shirt and get turned down at the end?

Rojo's injury the only real downside (I would have liked TFM to get more minutes personally).

Easy. Chuffed for Rashford to get some goals, in truth he should have had at least a couple more but he looked lively.

And congrats to Rooney.

It looked fine frankly. He was walking around without much effort before the sub I thought. Probably a precaution.

Good result. Wasteful in front of goal as usual.

Really should have killed the match off in the first half. Dont think we've seen as terrible a side as reading for quite some time.

They even made Rooney look half-decent.

You often hear fans say "we could have scored six", but today that's probably true. Almost every attacking player will be disappointed for not scoring at least one (more).

Still, perfect game for us. Easy run out for most of our players, lots of feel good vibes with Martial, Rashford and particularly Rooney scoring and almost everyone played well, accepting the opposition. Sorted.

Easy win, good to see us getting routine wins finally. Finishing couldve been a lot better, but still, good performance. Everyone had a very good performance pretty much, no complaints from anyone.

Reading looked terrified of martial though, actually kind of funny at times. Such a class player

Martial showing why he has to start.

Reading looked very poor.

Good game. But Reading were pretty rubbish. Front 3 played well, Rooney was close to my MOTM, but I think Carrick gets my vote. Wasn't much of a spectacle and I didn't enjoy this 4-0 as much as I have done other matches where we scored less. Hopefully Rashford is used again in the LC, giving Zlatan some rest.

Easy win but we should have stuffed them out of sight first half. The chances we missed were unbelievable. Rashford should of easily got 4. Would of liked to of seen TFM brought on around 60 mins see what he could have done.

Today a few of us moaned about the standard of finishing. Compare that to last season and let's just be thankful that we're at least creating chances now instead of passing sideways like soulless machines! So much more positive a year on

Good performance, good result, one of the worst match day threads I've seen in ages.

Happy for Rooney and Rashers, Carrick MotM

That's what worries me, to be honest. It seemed strange that he seemed to be fine after being so quick to make his mind up about coming off.

I was surprised at how poor Reading were. We cut right through them and they didn't manage a single chance. Should have been 7-0. We look more like the big club we are now, compared to last season.

Only downside is Rooney didn't break the record, and Rojo's injury :/

Carrick 100% class, my MOTM.
