'Reminds you of the days when the orange ball would have to come out' says the BEIN commentator

They're already playing with the winter ball which is brightly coloured in case of snow.
They use a proper orange ball in the CL still, was in use this week, much easier to see it than the PL yellow ball.

They didn't change it, this is a standard winter PL ball. They should have a full on orange variant in these cases though as they do in the CL.
Yeah, this is the same ball we played with at Brighton yesterday. Surely they have a brighter version available for these scenarios?

This is feck all compared to when we played Tromso away. I remember the first half was barely anything, during halftime break it was easily the most snow i have seen on a pitch in years, was a blizzard. Cheating bastards scored while we were subbing a player, too if my memory is right

I genuinely think “winter” balls are just so they can sell multiple footballs to kids per season. There’s no other reason for them in clear conditions, so I’m not surprised this years is shite when it’s actually needed.

Ronaldo a sub.

Chelsea have quite a weak starting 11 today with injuries and stuff. Loftus Cheek partnering Jorginho.

Very strong bench though, Lukaku, Mount, Havertz and Pulisic all on it.

Think that will be low scoring draw.

Those early days of Channel 5 when our picture was as snowy as Norway. Unfortunately our aerial didn't point in the right direction.

I know he scored but Fernandinho's playing like a 55 year old guy these days.

His legs are completely gone. Great player in his day but only in the squad for motivation these days.

Good performance from us. Should have put the game to bed sooner but City gonna City. I worry about our finishing in comparison to the other title chasers. We need so many chances to score whereas Liverpool in particular but Chelsea to an extent bury everything. I'd imagine both are above xg while we are below which is a concern.

We looked good again at the back despite a couple of ropey moments first half and falling asleep in injury time.

All in all a good win vs a strong team without 3 of our key attackers in Foden, KDB and super calves.

But you concede less goals than Liverpool, who conceded 3 to this west ham side. Not less than Chelsea of course, but I think Chelsea's defensive record will not continue.
It's looking like between you and the south London club in PL. Liverpool has a far better chance in CL.

Super weird, 13 games in so 1/3rd of the season and only 4 teams have a positive goal difference. Chelsea, City, Pool and West Ham. United need to win by 2 today to become the 5th and Chelsea never concede 2.

Anyway Carricks at the wheel, lets do this United.

Its just we look most likely to get done on the counter. Today the game was still alive for 90 minutes when it really shouldn't have been. In that 10 minute spell before halftime we should have had at least one more. We'll be right there at the end but in terms of picking up points when we don't play great, I think we're the most likely of the top3 to struggle. Lucky enough we rarely play poorly in general.

Yet City are the most capable team to go on a winning steak (at least 10 games) so this is actually their biggest advantage in the title race. Its always more difficult to chase the leader instead of being one.

Yep. Chelsea in particular are overperforming everything like crazy. Like liverpool are overperforming a bit at both ends, normal stuff for a great team doing well. City are overperforming xGA slightly and underperforming xG slightly

Chelsea? 21.7 xG , 29 GF, 11.9 xGA, 4 GA

Thats a fair amount for Chelsea, I'd imagine defensive teams like them constantly overperform their xg to some extent though.

Not really. Not to that extent at this stage of the season. It's probably happened before though, sure

Ah right, I just vaguely remembered reading about Atletico winning the league when they should have been 5th or 6th or something so made a poor correlation (also I could as usual be wrong about that too).
Lets hope today is the day lady luck abandons Chelsea.

I would rather city win the PL. That will at least shut up this Tommy Tuchel cringe fest here with numerous Chelsea fans popping up.

Somebody needs to tell Uniteds midfielders when their team has the ball its ok to move away from the blue shirts to receive it.

Chelsea should win this comfortably when they put some actual first teamers on in second half.
