It would, although it may make for a crowded midfield with Pogba, Herrera, and Carrick here. Also, we would almost certainly have to get rid of Fellaini and loan Perreira out yet again.
Another loan for Perreira and a full
Season of football is probably exactly what he needs anyway. There's no point just giving these lads cameos and having them sitting here waiting for injuries before they get a proper run. Loans also put them in the shop window if we want to sell. If he has the talent and desire a few good loans will improve his chances of making it here.

A midfield of Pogba - Nainggolan - Herrera would be immense. Swap in Fabinho as required.

Aside from possibly Veratti, this would be the ultimate midfield signing for us. No chance it happens, but if it did.....wow!

Doesn't Nainggolan talk about staying in Rome like every other week. He seems pretty settled in Italy. I could maybe see him move to a different Italian club, but I doubt he's coming to England.

Yes, he'll never go to another Italian club, he's at Roma until they want rid.

No chance why? No chance we are interested? Other than that, I can't comprehend what there would be no chance of.

He just said that the Premier League is the best in the world and see what happens in summer.

Nah we'd have two options for each of the three midfield spots, which is good depth imo.

----------Pogba/Pereira---------Nainggolan/Herrera
--------------------------Fabinho/Carrick

Fellaini would just go back to being a last resort as he should be.

I doubt we buy Nainggolan and bench Herrera, who is increasingly one of our better players.

Midfield of Nainggolan, Pogba, Herrera would be awesome, then we can have players like Pereira, Carrick as back ups.

Thread title is too plain. This would have double the posts if you'd added "SSN say we're interested" or something. People scrolling probably think it's just another random player thread

If we were to sign him, I'd like to see Herrera play in the Carrick role - sit deep, all-action pressing and harassing to win the ball back. Nainggolan will do his bit defensively when required as well as contribute to goals and attacking and Pogba can do his thing.

But, he seems extremely happy at Roma so I don't see it happening.

Why we didn't pick him up before he went to Roma I don't know. Didn't they sign him for around 6m?

How about "Nainggolan: Di Marzio says we made an enquiry months ago but never followed it up and the player has absolutely no intention of leaving Italy".

Maybe that's not concise enough.

I like the idea of signing this guy. Pogba will finally get some hair style competition. :)

Whether that will be good news in terms of improving his playing quality is a totally different matter.

We've let so many promising midfielders go to other clubs in the past. Just off the top of my head Gundogan, Verratti, Alli, Kante, Nainggolan, Eriksen, both Dembele's all gone for snips. That said, he would've probably turned into Anderson under us.

Herrera, Radja, Pogba would be a great midfield.

Think Pogba would be really free to dominate games and express himself similar to his time at Juve.

Perfect! But don't take away his first name from the title. Also add Di Marzio's first name too!

It always annoyed me we never picked up Vidal when he was at Bayer Leverkeusen. I think he moved for about the same, £6m or something.

Is this the smart way of signing players though? 40 m gbp+ for a 29 year old where you can't recoup any of the fee later beacause of age. He might have 2-3 good seasons in him. Great player though.

Feck smart, we need to compete and now. If that means buying players in their prime that have to be replaced every 3 or 4 years then so be it, its not like we can't afford it anyway.

He's hinted several times that he doesn't want to live in England. Is it worth pursuing him then? Nobody benefits from unhappy players.

We hardly recoup any money anyway.

I don't think we're signing him. He's a great player but he's also 29 years old.

Why recoup money if signing such player would give United higher chances of 'recoup'-ing success?

Hence, more money and higher chances of signing young potentials because of the reputation of the manager, and the team (or "project").

We need to go all in for griezmann and play him behind striker if we get him. That'll leave only 2 spots in midfield, of which one is pretty much locked for Pogba.

Now this guy may be better than Herrera but certainly not by such a margin to justify an upgrade.

We need 2 consistent goal scorers to play in front 4, a new left back and a new CB before we splash money to upgrade our better players.

He loves living in Italy and who can blame him, such a beautiful country.

He isn't coming to England.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time

If we already had a bunch of players in that age group, maybe not. But we're going to lose a lot of experience after this season with Rooney, Zlatan and Carrick all likely to be leaving, and even many of the ones who are in the 26-29 year group are either likely to leave as well, are relatively in-experienced for that age, or are just squad players. Having two or so players come in who are currently at their peak and who are nicely experienced would be great.

In saying that, it doesn't sound like this guy will be one of them, based on what people are saying of him being completely happy in Italy.

his age has to be a worry because as we know it can take players from Europe a while to adjust if at all. We've seen quality players such as Kagawa, Miki, Pogba all take longer to adjust than we'd like, even though they are quality players. He's a good player, I certainly wouldn't say world class. If he were to sign, I'd be happy enough but I just think we can do better
