You have to be careful with using non-native speakers to judge that fee. DiMarzio and Romano are weird with how they do that. Think it means including add-ons not 50m as base.I was close, called 50 mill with add-ons making it closer to 60 mill euro's. @roseguy64
I just hope he doesn't get too old for this shit.Murtough has done good things so far.
Maybe read this article...Judge reports to Murtough instead of Woodward now, as reported by Laurie Whitwell and David Ornstein. Judge is the negotiator but Murtough is the first point of contact for other clubs.
Judge Not, Lest you be Judged. You got Judged
Actually started earlier but couldn’t find any flights between Madrid and Manchester. But tomorrow is another day. When can we get the flight trackers up then lads?
Sounds to me like Judge has a real football person providing guidance and leadership and not an investment banker.Tweet

Hats off to him as that’s an incredible deal that he’s pulled off in these negotiations.Tweet

Red flags everywhereBeginning to think this might happen.
Muppets here were saying just pay whatever Madrid wants.Tweet

It's fair to keep in mind that in 2018 our actual spendings were relatively high due to owned cash from previous transfers. While I can understand fans being naively upset, I don't understand how a manager who was most likely aware could be as petulant.Compared to our window when we last finished 2nd And we’re not done yet.

Incredible deal. I thought £40M plus add-ons was a good deal but I didn’t expect to see it being this low.Tweet

"Why are you negotiating for 10m, the club makes 60 times that!"Muppets here were saying just pay whatever Madrid wants.

I've read that article from Luckhurst and it contradicts what Ornstein and Whitwell reported.Maybe read this article...
"Murtough (...) does not oversee the club's recruitment, with the director of football negotiations Matt Judge still the point of contact to discuss a prospective target's terms.
The recruitment process is still largely overseen by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the technical chief scout Mick Court, as well as his team in the recruitment department."

And we’re only paying £15m per year for Sancho. Some great business this summer.Looks like we got Varane for what we saved on holding back from signing Sancho last year. Cheers Dortmund.
I thought most of Sancho’s fees was upfront? And we’re only paying £15m per year for Sancho. Some great business this summer.
No, paid in five installments over four years.I thought most of Sancho’s fees was upfront?
I read it was £75m, £15m per year over the five years of his contract. Could be wrong though.I thought most of Sancho’s fees was upfront?
Varane plays on the right sideI've asked this before but never got an answer: Would Varane likely be LCB or RCB in a partnership with Maguire?
I would really like to see Maguire play as RCB, I think it would elevate his play at bringing the ball out of defence to another level...
Maguire will be LCB. He’s excellent at it and has a good relationship with Shaw.I've asked this before but never got an answer: Would Varane likely be LCB or RCB in a partnership with Maguire?

Up to 50m euros, though.£34 million going up to 50 with add-ons. What a deal. Well done to whoever negotiated this.
