After Shaw went off all of our attacks came from the right hand side. Rashford would have stretched Aston Villa allowing for more space for Ronaldo down the middle. All Villa really had to do was allow us to attack down the right and squeeze Greenwood out, because as soon as they showed us down there, we didn't really have an option to switch play as Pogba would always come inside too much.We did loads of running against Aston villa, we ran at the most of the first half when we had the ball, we don't need more of it.
Just because Rashford has scored 20 goals previously does not mean we would gain 20 goals by playing him, that's not how statistics or football works.
That might be true, but it wasn't working when shaw was on either. Because having runners and shooters was not our problem, we didn't and dont need more. After Shaw went off all of our attacks came from the right hand side. ok, sign me up. I can’t wait to see him back on the pitch - I have a sneaky suspicion he is going to boss it with Ronaldo! It's a cult to say we miss Rashford?
We should be beating Young Boys, West Ham and Villa without Rashford and he doesn't solve our issues. But he certainly offers something that non of our other wingers can offer. He's a valuable tool to have back in the squad and I predict he'll quickly gain his starting place back.
Nobody is saying he solves our issues. Unless the operation has turned him into a world class number 6.Hes just more of the same though, and not at all solving what our issues are.
Ronaldo, Cavani, Rashford, Sancho, Greenwood, martial ... ole is going to have his work cut out to keep them all happy - quality problem to have but its easy to imagine a few of them getting less game time than they feel they deserveThe Athletic is reporting he's back in full training, so only a matter of time now.
What makes the problem worse for Ole is that if we were playing well and winning consistently, then it would be easier to mange. Both because some players may understand it's harder to start, but equally if we were a well drilled unit then it's like for like replacements because most of them have similar styles of playRonaldo, Cavani, Rashford, Sancho, Greenwood, martial ... ole is going to have his work cut out to keep them all happy - quality problem to have but its easy to imagine a few of them getting less game time than they feel they deserve
He was about 50% fit, if that, and still more effective than most of our team. Says it all.I remember his performances at the end of last season. Selfish, poor decision making, zero workrate and looked like he forgot how to dribble.
Hope he comes back at his best.
Was he banned? There's some right weirdo opposition fans that seem to create accounts on redcafe with the sole purpose of attacking Rashford. It's so weird. He's an unbelievably talented player and he's been missed sorely, he destroyed PSG, Liverpool and City on a few occasions and given the month we've got coming up we need him back.5 posts and all the posts to shit on Rashford
Its scary because Pogba Is included.Rashford CR7 Sancho
Bruno Pogba
Thats a scary front 5
Without any semblance of a midfield it doesn’t matter how good they are- they won’t receive the ballRashford CR7 Sancho
Bruno Pogba
Thats a scary front 5
Don’t forget Shaw, who is linking up well with Rashy on the left.We have been clearly missing him. His pace and running adds something to our team which the others can’t provide.
Link up between Pogba, Rash, Bruno and CR7 should be good to watch
Swap Sancho with Greenwood at the moment…Rashford CR7 Sancho

odd post. He's quite poor at tracking back.Fully fit Rashford, could be the difference between 3rd and 1st at the end of the season, it's not just his directness in attack we miss, it's his defensive work that we miss, the kids has a great work ethic
Whilst I agree, I also think he is the most defensive out of Greenwood Sancho and Ronaldo and Martial.odd post. He's quite poor at tracking back.
Bizarre post, our only consistent threat as a team during Ole’s tenure is on the counter, and that had suffered greatly without Rashford.Hes just more of the same though, and not at all solving what our issues are.
Not anymore he doesn't. He did the first few years after he broke through, but his workrate and defensive work declined massively from the start of 19/20 and only got worse from there. His laziness and lack of any defensive workrate was a real (negative) highlight of the last couple of years. In fact if I remember correctly even Martial statistically did more defensively in 19/20.Fully fit Rashford, could be the difference between 3rd and 1st at the end of the season, it's not just his directness in attack we miss, it's his defensive work that we miss, the kids has a great work ethic
The issue with Rashford is that the worse his form is, the worse his descision making gets, but since he was playing with injury it became a viscious cycle.I remember his performances at the end of last season. Selfish, poor decision making, zero workrate and looked like he forgot how to dribble.
Hope he comes back at his best.
I dont think he is. Ronaldo sure. Sancho Ive seen work quite hard at tracking back. Martial definitely tracks back more.Whilst I agree, I also think he is the most defensive out of Greenwood Sancho and Ronaldo and Martial.
Wrong thread palRondon is going to stick to Lindelof isn't he? Not going to be a fun watch.
I get what @Hammondo is saying though. If you look at what we struggle with primarily i.e keeping the ball, building play, it's not Rashfords thing.Bizarre post, our only consistent threat as a team during Ole’s tenure is on the counter, and that had suffered greatly without Rashford.
But we’re struggling at that with and without Rashford, difference is, we’re also now even pretty shit at our main weapon, the counter.I get what @Hammondo is saying though. If you look at what we struggle with primarily i.e keeping the ball, building play, it's not Rashfords thing.
But as you say, Rashford at his best is still a massive boost.
