With Craig Dawson on top of him too!Love him celebrating his goal face down in the mouth of the goal. Real desire, what a guy!
Probably living out someone somewheres dream celebration....

I remember the scene. It was infuriating because it was so easy to see the through ball. I would have screamed at Bruno if I had made that run for nothing...Very good forward. Not one dimensional, knows how to lay it off, makes good runs. Back to goal front to goal. His a complete forward.
The problem is the players around him being blind and I’ve been saying this all season.
Yesterday showed the perfect case on point. Around the 57 minute mark. United broke through on the counter. Bruno had the ball,
Hojlund makes a run in between the two CB and a through ball into space would put him through on goal, given him 20-40 yards to run and boom. Bruno ignores him and passes it wide. You even see the frustration in Hojlund straight after. As his run and movement was for nothing and the best option would have been to play him through.
Ideally neither he needs to play regularly to develop , bringing another high profile Forward in prime in theory could limit his game time significantly unless they are played together .I can't decide if he needs someone experienced like a Martinez or someone of a similar age in Zirkzee
Who fits that bill is the question?Ideally neither he needs to play regularly to develop , bringing another high profile Forward in prime in theory could limit his game time significantly unless they are played together .
What United need to do is bring another striker who is still in his prime but isn't exactly high profile name who wouldn't mind getting rotated with Hojlund .
He'll learn how to start conserving energy with experience. Always remember when we used to come up against Didier Drogba back in the day, and he'd be almost strolling around one minute, and then comes alive in the blink of an eye. Suarez did the same thing. It's about choosing your moments.Still worry about his fitness over 90 minutes. He had Dawson on toast for the first hour or so, but then when he started to fade you could see Dawson start to get comfortable with him. I look forward to him working out how to get through 90 minutes.
One interesting thing about him is that his upper torso is quite long relative to his legs, so it makes him a bit more agile than he should be for his height, with a lower centre of gravity.said it multiple times in this thread but he’s got everything. Our attackers are absolutely trash at finding him - yesterday he made multiple great runs in between defenders and the simplest ball would have slipped him through on goal and yet we always went wide for no reason. It’s like they can’t look in a straight line sometimes!
I played as a defender and I think he'd be a handful to mark as once he gets his body in front of you, you won't get around him.It was clear even when he wasn't scoring that hojlund is a great talent. Hes fast, very strong with a great attitude and very good hold up play for a 20 year old leading the line. Goals will keep increasing from here hopefully he gave dawson an awful time last night, who is a very experienced very physical PL defender
You’ll be long gone by then Gen-XerYup. Exactly my thoughts. You can tell he really thinks hard about the game. Some great observations. Will make a class pundit in 2043!
I’ll be younger than Fergie is now dammit! You’ll be long gone by then Gen-Xer
I hope ETH singles out that moment and shows the team a clip and says “in this situation you play through the middle”I remember the scene. It was infuriating because it was so easy to see the through ball. I would have screamed at Bruno if I had made that run for nothing...
Dawson is a cnut, always leaving a bit on, roughing them up and generally being a cynical so and so, but he knows how to handle a big centre forward. He did this to Haaland too, when Wolves beat City earlier in the season, Haaland didn't want to know about it.It was clear even when he wasn't scoring that hojlund is a great talent. he needs someone experienced for me. Hojlund is the long term striker for the club (hopefully he makes the position his). He just needs an experienced striker to learn from and to take the pressure off Hojlund. A 19 year old kid can not be under the pressure of being the immediate answer to all our final third issues. He can be helped by a more experienced striker to become one in due course.I can't decide if he needs someone experienced like a Martinez or someone of a similar age in Zirkzee
It's still essential, especially if we get into some kind of european schedule. The fixture list for multiple competitions is heavy. The ideal competition and forward cover would be MG. But he is almost certainly going to be sold.Ideally neither he needs to play regularly to develop , bringing another high profile Forward in prime in theory could limit his game time significantly unless they are played together .

Yeah, not to say that dominating dawson is any test of greatness but it's a good type of test for physicality and coming up against experienced defendersDawson is a cnut, always leaving a bit on, roughing them up and generally being a cynical so and so, but he knows how to handle a big centre forward. Yeah, he's showing he can handle himself physically after 6 months, which is a good sign. Ideally he will grow into that role, turn the tables and start bullying defenders. Have really missed having a good physical presence up top.Yeah, not to say that dominating dawson is any test of greatness but it's a good type of test for physicality and coming up against experienced defenders
He did great for a 20 year old. I think he's really coming into his own now
Ffs.. he's nearly finished. Get rid. He's about to turn 21
Yeah, he's got 9 goals in 23 appearances. Which is pretty decent. Even when he was getting hammered by people more obsessed with goal stats his general play and ability to bring his team mates into play has looked excellent. What's up with his stats at the top of this thread, he should be on 9 goals and 2 assists, but it only says 5 goals.
Ya, I was never worried about him, and still am not. Obviously players can end up disappointing but all things pointing in the right direction for Hojlund to become a top player for usYeah, he's got 9 goals in 23 appearances. Which is pretty decent. There were a couple moments like that where it looked on and the ball wasn‘t played. The same thing happens with crosses.I hope ETH singles out that moment and shows the team a clip and says “in this situation you play through the middle”
Give him the chances that his runs create. He might not even have scored but the more he gets the more likely he will become prolific over time.
Any suggestions at all?he needs someone experienced for me. Hojlund is the long term striker for the club (hopefully he makes the position his). Taremi would be an obvious choice.Any suggestions at all?
