IMO good decision to "rest" him. He should not be expected to play every week, and he also doesn't exactly have any impact on how we play so not a big loss.

I hope he at least comes on for the last 30 minutes. Often it has been the opposite for him, where he has been battling for 60-70 minutes and then taken off, once the games starts to open up a bit.

Has something happened?

Yes mate, a twitter account with 7k followers and some of these as top tweets has the big scoop:

Why can't people just take 5 seconds to check if something is just blindingly obviously complete shite before they post it?

Took his goal well. Should have hit the one he tried to square to Rashford, but understandable why he would.

Oh look, he's not shit.

Had to make the goal himself again but happy for him, is that 1 more to get 10pl goals?

What is he joint top scorer in all competitions for the season now? That or second at least

15 goals, would have taken that before the season started

15G+2A is an acceptable return for a young forward in his first season. Joint top scorer in the team this season as well

Not a bad return considering he's been starved of service the majority of the season. Capable of 25+ in a functioning team.

Not a great day for the 'McTominay is a better striker' lads.

Honestly rooting so much for him. Disgusted with those not wanting to give him a chance to develop with us, you lot are clueless on what Manchester united is about

Absolutely, critics this season have been totally out of order. Some posts in here are an embarrassment

He may finish the season with 16-17 goals, in fact. It would be very decent

Great to see him score a goal. Too little time to analyse any ‘performance’, but he’s a striker and he got on the scoresheet with a well taken goal too. Seems to have a lot of self-belief which he will need if he is to come out the other side and be a success here.

I think it's the correct decision there, just needed more pace on the pass.

Happy for him.
Great return considering the lack of service and he's our only functioning striker at the moment.
Some of the critics need to remember he's 21 and has come into a dysfunctional team.

He strikes me as a confidence player. We saw him score a few goals on the bounce in February. Hopefully he bags a goal vs Brighton to help his confidence ahead of the cup final!

I also thought it suited him coming off the bench when we were already winning tonight as there was more space in behind for him to drive into.

The only issue there for me is that he ran in a straight line with a ball, made it quite obvious he was going to pass it as he never really moved it out of his feet for the shot. A bit more disguise, but ideally we would see him in those situations more often.

Good goal tonight and should have had another straight after but bottled out of the challenge with the keeper.
That was common sense, why risk injury when you're leading 3-1 at the time near the end of the game, if we had needed a goal then that would be a different matter

A weird coincidence between Højlund, and Darwin Nunez in his first season at Liverpool

Rasmus Højlund 9 league goals in 29 games - 15 goals in 41 matches
Darwin Nunez 9 league goals in 29 games - 15 goals in 42 matches

So if Højlund doesn't play at Brighton and plays but doesn't score in the FA Cup Final - they will have 100% identical stats in their first season

Great finish. Hopefully this goal is a start of a mini run than continues vs Brighton and City.
