Treatment is not a one-size fits all undertaking. If it was as simple as "take a pill and all will be well", all would be just fine.

I won't spend too much of my workday dwelling into it, but a summary is that long-term childhood ADHD see a link between criminal and risky behavior, coupled with <nature> (ie. social circle or family relations).
Ravel is a teenager who had the door open to everything, and threw it away by enganging in unsocial and risky behavior that does not properly reach the level of the opportunity he was risking. At the time I just thought he was a little asshole, but learning later that he sufferes from one of the most common mental disorders we know of, that puts everything into context.
