Ravel Morrison

No, you guys are making judgement on an incident you know nothing about while using childish insults. It makes you no different than whatever names you are calling him behind your PC TBH.
You can choose to defend him that's okay but people choosing to believe he is a scumbag have just as much a right to make that judgement. No smoke without fire, he is clearly a troubled individual.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with feeling Morrison is a scumbag, there's also nothing wrong with feeling he's not.

This guy should right now be in America with the rest of the team and he should be one of the best young talents in the world.

When he looks back on his life he should be filled with regret. Such a waste of talent and skill.

Can't help but think of what could have been if his career and life took a different path.

Wilson
Lingard - Ravel - Januzaj
Pogba - Cleverley
Blackett - Evans - Pique - Keane

Academy FC.

Which is why the option to suspend any judgement on him based on just charges is the smart one. If you want to debate how he keeps getting himself into these situations that is another story.
But we can judge based on the fact he is a troubled individual with a track record and the fact these latest allegations don't come as a surprise?

No he shouldn't be in America right now. Even when he was with us, his talent was never enough to offset the fact that he was a complete waste of space away from the pitch.

You can say that however you called him a scumbag, that is a very strong word to call someone and implies to me at least that you've already made a judgement on whether he is guilty of what he is accused of or not. Calling him a scumbag is a little different from calling him a dickhead (which he most likely is) for getting himself into a situation like this.

However we know very little about the actual nature of the situation and lets not pretend that some people don't see footballers as legitimate targets for all kinds of abuse/accusations based solely on their profession alone. That is reason enough to wait till the facts emerge before branding somebody a scumbag.

That's more or less it. I'm just so disappointed.

Thing is, I can't abide that self-righteous Colin attitude either -- 'a waste of space!' Come on!
He had a golden opportunity to make it at United, was given chance after chance, yet he chose the "thug life" with his parasitic little friends, yeah he's an absolute waste of space, hitting a woman just confirms it.

No actually we know of a fair few things he's already done. Scum bag is quite an apt description.

Ravel probably just wants to earn enough bread so that he can retire as young as possible to spend the rest of his days boozing and chasing birds in seedy nightclubs...he appears to be beyond help unfortunately

You're really getting into the technicalities of the word scumbag?

Well it is an internet forum, it tends to work with people typing stuff and posting it. By similar logic next time someone wants to suggest a player has a bad game I assume you'll tell them to "go and say it to their face" no one will be posting anything if that was the case!!

Like has been said the problem Morrison has got is he's been involved in countless incidents in the past. It happens in any form of life. If someone has a past and is accused of doing something else unfortunately their past does catch up with them and people will make judgments. If this was a player who isn't really involved in this kind of stuff then I'm sure the reaction would be different. Maybe it's not the best reaction but you'll find most people will assume they're not innocent of what they have been accused of. I'd imagine if your every day person who has been charged with witness intimidation, accused of assaults in the past was accused of it again and advised by his previous employers to go to a completely new area of the country because he needs a fresh start then come back and get accused of assault you'd find people would probably assume some kind of guilt.

It might not be ideal but then his attitude and behaviour in the past hardly puts him as a reformed character.

I am not defending him. I'm just calling out the hypocrisy I see in ppl calling him names like scumbag. We do not know what actually happened so to sit behind a PC and hurl insult at a footballer makes you no better.

He's a fecking idiot, that's what he is. Has so much potential as a player but throwing it all away by being a scumbag of a human being.

If I'm not hitting women, intimidating witnesses and being a general dick, then yeah it does make me better.

Apples and oranges. You know exactly what happens in the game since you saw it. And if you are going to say a player had a bad game, I'd hope that you could explain why you think so. We do not know what happened.
When you hear about some kind of altercation involving a 21 yo man and two women(19 and 39 respectively), if the first thought that comes you is : Scumbag, idiot or waste space... then you shouldn't be taken seriously.

no it just means your problem with Ravel has nothing to do with this incident. He could have had a parking ticket and you would have reacted the same way.

No actually we know of a fair few things he's already done. Scum bag is quite an apt description.

I think if that is based solely on his past history then fair enough, my assessment of him considering his age would be less harsh.

However that could have been said any day over the last 3 years of his life as those charges date back to his teens, to start calling him a scumbag so soon after a story like this emerges suggests most have already made up their mind about the current charges.

Come on mate this isn't the first thing he has been accused of and it won't be the last.

Selective editing there a bit surely? You've implied he's some kind of saint before all this. He's got history in the past and is known for a troubled lifestyle. If you read through it doesn't sound like people are calling him a scumbag purely for this but also for his past. Surely not to controversial? I reckon if he was an ex-City or Liverpool player you'd have very few defending him.

People have tried their best to help him. United sold him and sent him to another part of the country, from what you hear players such as Rio Ferdinand have tried helping him and yet he seemingly refuses to listen. He might be innocent, he might not be, but people getting all high and mighty over the suggestion he is a scumbag is just strange. The guys got a past of being one and doesn't look like changing.

I'd be very keen to know why you chose to call him one so soon after these accusations emerged.

Be a bit random to bump the topic out the blue if nothing happened and just comment going "Bit of a scumbag this guy isn't he?" wouldn't it?

again you are misinterpreting what i said to formulate your argument. I never said(implicitly or explicitly) that he was a saint. Not only did that, you also ignored where i shot down the faulty logic behind this "
By similar logic next time someone wants to suggest a player has a bad game I assume you'll tell them to "go and say it to their face" no one will be posting anything if that was the case!!
" statement. Now you are switching tactics again and attributing things to me that i've never even suggested.

No we aren't "all high and mighty" over the suggestion that he's a scumbag. We are merely questioning why this is the first thing that come to you lot's mind when you aren't privy to what actually happened. And if you call that "all high and mighty" then it says far more about you than us. Like i told the previous poster. You probably have formulated your opinion on Ravel before this incident. And now you are using any situation that he's involved in to confirm your bias.

Maybe Ravel should have just stayed away from Manchester. That is why Sir Alex transferred him to London. Whatever his problem with living in Manchester is, it doesn't go away during the close season. I think he is a loose cannon, but all the facts need to come out. If he did hit these two women he will deserve all he gets.

Exactly. Unfortunately for him he doesn't seem to have matured enought to realize that his old life was leading him down the wrong path. If he can't turn it around it won't be the first case of wasted talent and certainly won't be the last.

It allegedly started outside a Manchester nightclub. Maybe it was caught on CCTV. If he couldn't listen to the advice of SAF, who would have been doing what is best for the lad, then he is stupid.

I think people are frustrated with him. So many high hopes when he was with us but he kept getting into trouble and not for nicking sweets either. So its quite easy to see why people have lost patience and have deemed him guilty. Also, calling people scumbag, may not be fair but it can be seen as a release of frustration. I had high hopes for him.
