Not denying that as I said above, and Davids is in the top 10-15 CMs of all time himself, but you can't really deny those disappointments Juve had despite the team they had, and Davids along with a few others would be held accountable, as he was one of the most important players in the team.

And that's not even Redondo's best CL campaign.
Im not denying it but you cant hold that against Davids, specially as he was one of the rare players that actually performed in those European defeats....if he played poorly and Juve won it, we wouldnt be having this debate which is a sad thing.

Don't see him complementing Xavi well stylistically tbh, Redondo did like to dictate play and liked to carry the ball and utilise his long-range passing. I can't see him playing the supporting role to Xavi, or at least not as well as Busquets imo.
Xavi thrived playing along great playmakers. Him and Iniesta both can run the show whilst Busquets also is a DLP on his own. Having great passers alongside him and players on the same wavelength is pretty much having him in his zone.

He'd still be the main playmaker but a late Xavi(not the 2008 one) would be nice fit in terms of covering the zone when Redondo makes a run.

In terms of game mechanics his anchoring positional role and sitting in front of the defence, along with his reading of the game would pretty much be optimal for a possession based team, which is what you're looking at when having both Iniesta and Xavi in the team.

Redondo is pretty versatile and played with different partners in midfield, so he'd adjust pretty fine. He's not the dominant playmaker in a sense that he won't work well with other playmakers in the team IMO.

Not being able to elevate the team around you, while being at the heart of it, is a valid criticism given there are others who did precisely that. He maybe possibly the greatest physical CM ever, but mentally cannot match some other greats of the game in that position. And that's where the likes of Redondo, Rijkaard, Matthaus and all excel, just never say die.

Nope. Busquets-Xavi-Iniesta is as perfect as it comes. There are no upgrades to that. Not just in ability, but their innate understanding can't be replaced.
I'm not saying that it would be better than the actual Barca trio, obviously we saw that and how good it was. But it would be just as brilliant to watch, in fact toss in Scirea at the back while we are at it and give me a bucket to wank into.

With the number of people interested in drafts we definitely should be exploring formats that allow for more participants without completely ruining the flow.
Well, there is also that I don't see it as a viable option to solve that particular problem. I'm not as outraged as @Moby, heck, I'm not outraged at all but I just don't see the point.

Let's have a look at the real issue here for a second.

@RedTiger could have picked Redondo earlier but instead went for Ruggeri?
Calculated risk - pick Ruggeri, wait for the WC winner drop box, pick Redondo - profit.

Don't think it will affect the game mechanics much to be honest. Probably couple of players blocked more. EAP can easily put another card in play that would eliminate the same number of players so all in all it's the same.

The only way it will affect it is if anto drops a player that is already picked by another manager, but that I assume won't be counted.
