How was that not considered offside for Xaka's goal? He was literally straight in line.

I don't know how many mistakes have to be made in a single game for this whole farce of VAR to be binned. This is beyond parody now.

Never seen anything like today’s fiasco before. Arsenal win 3-1 but the “true” score, assuming VAR did the job it was supposed to do, would be a defeat by 3 or 4 goals. That’s genuinely incredible. Unprecedented.

It’s not even just VAR…blatant fouls that were just waved on throughout. Elanga could not get a call no matter what…hard to win when that is the way the match is managed. nevermind the fact United are not a good team and then not getting anything in your favour makes it that much worse.

You'd be forgiven for thinking the officiating today was a parody. It was laughably bad in every way imaginable.

Did you think VAR favored you or us today?
They favored us 1000%. This is still a red card for any player in any league with VAR.

The rest of the VAR performance was so bad I'm really wanting to see the Ronaldo offside, frame by frame, to see if they got that right.

I’d like someone to show some passion and dig out the officiating after the match. Not just these post match interviews where they say nothing. Come out and say we felt very hard done by and it had a massive impact on the match..what is there to lose now? Have a go, show some passion!

Bit optimistic of you to assume you'd actually score the penalties though

Peter Walton chatting bare shit there. There's a video of Lindelof not in line of sight, crouching down, and hes saying he was in the way more than the Arsenal player.

The guy was tying himself in knots trying to explain why the ref was spot on.

Correct decisions as follows

1.Either Arsenal’s penalty not given or we get one for first half challenge on Elanga.
2. Xhaka’s goal disallowed
3. Penalty for Cedric handball
4. Penalty for Elanga being fecking rugby tackled in the second half.

The Ronaldo offside was dodgy as feck an’ all. They’re not supposed to do that any more but whatever. Those four are the obvious ones. Not often VAR incompetence can turn a 3-1 defeat into a 3-1 win but that’s what happened today. Absolute madness.

Can’t disagree with any of these.

I watched it with the missus & she’s heard me throw around the term VAR so she was like but VAR gets everything right doesn’t it, to which I then went on a 5 minute tirade as to how it doesn’t.

The subjectivity of the decision making today was criminal. To give Arsenal their penalty & deny the similar instances elsewhere was horrendous. The Xhaka goal was laughable too. All in all a terrible example of the medium.

The Cedric was the biggest joke. He even looks at the ball before he handballs it.

Would be interesting to see Ronnie’s offside with the ball actually in the still image.

He was offside.

It was tight but still just outside the MOE.
I have absolutely no idea how this can be said with any certainty. What even is the Margin of Error? Is it different this season to last? How different? Visually that looks no different to the “armpit hair offsides” we saw last season that we weren’t supposed to see any more.

Then Elneny has to go a couple of minutes later for the same on McTominay.
If you think those 2 incidents are the same, i'd like to officially welcome you to the VAR team for the 22/23 PL season.

Yeah, that was fecking infuriating. You couldn’t film a more obvious example of a goalkeepers eyeline being blocked if you hired some actors.

His argument for the offside was funny. Basically Saka can't have been offside because someone else would have blocked DDG anyway. Using his logic, we shouldn't have gotten a penalty because if Saka's hand hadn't touched the ball, Smith-Rowe's head would have so the handball was fine.

It was outside the box, don't know why you're asking for a penalty.
