RA: "Do you want me buying the players? Doesn't that ring a bell?"

Finally someone who knows their place.

Not being funny here, I'd genuinely be interested to know exactly what is involved in spending 14 hours per day working on a single transfer.
I’m picturing him running the Fifa 22 transfer negotiation cut scene sequence again and again, trying to get the optimal combo haha

might well be, but when you have woodward out there talking about how him signing schweinsteiger would terrify the EPL, and Arnold is now saying the CEO signing players is a shit show that shouldn't be repeated. I'm taking that as a *small* win.

I'm a pessimistic borderline doomer of this club. Sometimes we need a small win.

Livid over this leak. This isn’t how you treat people, regardless of station in life.

Personally, I think stadium/match protests are helpful and a legitimate tactic. Personally going to an employee’s home is disgusting. Proceeding to film him without explicit permission before lambasting him on Twitter is a joke beyond the pale.

I hate so many of our fans. Comes with the territory of having such a large fanbase though

So called fans who defending this video are the save ones who make sex tapes without consent and defend it by saying she was a bitch anyway!! Disgusting scums!

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Definitely not a contrived press stunt.

And conveniently, at a crucial point, everyone now likes / feels sorry for Arnold and views him as a ‘bloody good bloke’.

That worked out well for the Glazers.

Happy days :)

feck the fans who attacked the sponsors. That is actively damaging the club, and Glazers or not, there will always be sponsors for a football club, as a football club's finances is heavily dependent on the sponsors. Seriously, how the feck can adults be stupid enough to do this sort of things? If you love the club, do not attack the sponsors.

I think you are giving these particular adults too much credit. What kind of adult goes to someone's house to intimidate them over a game. It's pathetic.

Arnold would have to be some sort of evil genius to have a PR stunt which included first about planning about twenty OT match going fans to come at his house for protest, then actually meet them in a bar and give frank answers and also say that under this ownership the money has been wasted, admit that the protests are working(he implied that) and they'd need outside investment for stadium and facilities and do all of this without giving permission to get filmed. C'mon lads!

Some of our fans, jeez! There's just so much wrong with this behaviour that I don't know where to begin, so I won't.

Fair play to Arnold to try to engage with them, came across well and did not try to justify the club's failures. I also do not think that he spoke anything out of turn at all, and there are a lot of false quotes floating around.

I see what you did there.

Really hope this is genuine, otherwise they are spending way too much time cooking up things like this instead of just doing their job.

If he wasn't happy with you doing it then why did he buy the house? I thought all the estate agents in that area gave potential buyers the Rimaldo Brochure so these unseemly situations wouldn't occur and you could carry on doing your good work in peace?
it must have got lost in the piles of letters from fans asking him to “announce player x” or tie lingard down to a new 5 year deal. though i think the majority of those ones came directly from jesse. i told him i was there continuing my secret scientific research but he was having none of it and had me escorted off the premises. fortunately i had already squirrelled away a pair of briefs in my cheeks like a hamster and was able to continue my experiments in the woodland opposite his house.

Man Utd isn’t just a game to some people, the club is literally their life. It’s like a second wife. It’s a love affair that lasts someone’s entire life; not saying it’s right or wrong but that’s how it is.

From his comments that means the manager controls who gets in and out. Maybe thats how ETH prefers it to be and one of the reasons why we let Ralf go.

I've been a United fan for close to thirty years. I regard the club as part of my life, one of my life's constants. But the thought of intimidating any club employee (regardless of scumbag status) at their private residence, even if he or she lives next door, has never occurred to me. Some lines are not meant to be crossed.

I couldn’t agree more. I’m just saying the mentality of some fans that’s how it is. It’s all they care about.

Fans protesting outside a guys home who hasn’t even had chance to shows he’s clearly been making at the club.

Makes zero sense to me.

It’s not like the club hasn’t just changed nearly all its backroom staff in a short space of time.

This reminds me of the Ultra’s in Italy. Gatekeeping fans who seem to force their opinions on a club through pure intimidation.

Huge problem in Italy so we don’t want it at United. Doesn’t help anyone.

Fans wanted to protest at his house? This sort of thing winds me up so much. What has he done to be deserving of that? Even Woodward, who we all know isn't exactly loved by the fans isn't deserving of that.

A man's personal space, home should be off limits. The place that he shares with his wife and children should be off limits. Could you imagine your young child having to witness a mob of people at their front door? Disgusting sense of entitlement.

I can't stand what's happened to our club these past few years but NEVER would I consider going down to his house with a bunch of Top Reds.

What the actual feck! We have to get investors? They've taken almost a billion out, Morgan Stanley or whoever it is have had the guts of a Billion out... we need investors? These fecking leeches need to go.
Sours took out a loan. No one uses their own money to improve or build a new stadium, that’s just simple business sense.

CEO or players barely talk to fans and completely isolated - "Today's footall is so disconnected with common people, I hate it"

CEO or players talk to fans - Whole thing is a set up and done for PR.

You could look at it cynically and it could be staged. How would Arnold get wind of a protest at his house? Wouldn't the safe thing be to call the police? Would you brave going down the pub with a gang of men you have never met before? Wouldn't you notice a phone pointed at you as he looks right at it a couple of times where he is sitting? Also couldnt hear the 200 mill being said. Mighty suspicious if you ask me.
No no. Fans bad. Glazer-thing good. All forgiven. Clean slate. Duh.

The club spends almost everything every year, like almost every other clubs around. Unless it starts sparing money for future large expenses, the club will need investors or loans to heavily invest in infrastructure.

So these fans protested against what? Lack of transfers?
Apparently transfers are irrelevant according to them. They are only the single most important thing in making a team successful.

Really bizarre and stupid move from these fans. You moan and get wound up that there is no transparency at the club and they’re not doing things to rectify the situation so one of the top men comes out to meet you and you decide to betray his trust by secretly filming him. He would be within his rights to decide never to do something like that again or talk to the fans again after that.

Eyyy, the fans only had to go to the CEO's house to get some actual human communication from the club instead of the usual robotic PR bullshit.

Well some people still think what he said was PR BS. But hey, that’s the state some of the fans are in, delusional

The guy is nice enough to go to the pub with the protesters and buy them a drink, so they film him
I think these protesters can vent all they want, but filming him when he is being as candid as he can is completely idiotic and lack integrity. How do you expect Arnold to conduct his interaction with the fan base going forward? It’s the stupidest and quickest way to burn bridges with the management. Utter wankers.

Why do you need human communication with the CEO of a large entity? Is it something that people expect or demand routinely? Also he didn't say anything that hasn't already been said by anyone with common sense.

What dishonest and vicious people who film him without his permission and then post his statements online. It's so unsympathetic.

Respect to him for doing that, For the people having a hissy fit saying they aren't going to watch it and it's not right, etc, at least we now have some inside knowledge and workings at a high level, without the fans planning to confront him you would have been none the wiser. BUT he could have been BS them to shut them up!
It’s not the right way to go, whatever the context. He didn’t really say stuff we didn’t know but now he won’t trust fanbase anymore when he originally went out of his way to communicate. This group of idiots ought to be outed.
