He was very clearly fouled, regardless of what he did.
Dived to avoid the challenge, he clearly stopped a potential counter attack, professional freekick and a fair yellow.
schweinsteiger is the idiot for diving in like that when on a yellow.

It was a dive but Bastian was gonna make the foul if he didn't throw himself. It doesn't excuse Wayne. That was embarrassing but I'm happy with the result.

Similar to Sturridge with Vidic's sending off. Little to no contact but he dived into the challenge looking to make contact when on a yellow card. Cant complain

It wasn't a dive. Valencia was given a yellow for a similar challenge on Lahm very early in the game.
