No Keane is straight. I don't like these squeaky clean pundits.
Keano is a one off. Love him or hate him everyone has an opinion on him.
I love watching Roy Keane as a pundit as he’s always got something controversial to say.

One thing you can be absolutely sure of is that Roy Keane is not at all interested in what others think of him. He can do no wrong in my eyes.
He's right about Ole needing top 4 to stay in the job. Regardless of our horrendous board, we have to make top 4 a minimum to see any kind of progress from last year.

Funny I agree with him on the Dier one. No need and turning your back should be a penalty anyway.
He’s facing the correct way as that’s where the ball is coming from. It doesn’t make sense for him to be facing the defender.
Secondly, I’ve never seen a footballer or myself when playing be able to jump properly without spreading out the arms. It’s virtually impossible to get any kind of leverage.
His movement is more flapping than a normal movement I kind of agree with Keane there. The other two were never penalties but this one is debatable

Klopp admitted to only hearing the word, “sloppy” and reacting to that, whilst Keane suggested he listen to his appraisal in its entirety, as it also featured significant praise for Liverpool. Jurgen then suggested that he intended to listen to the entire thing. Not a big issue, really. Certainly don’t think Keane shat it. Nor Klopp, for that matter.

Nothing to do with the Klopp exchange, but he's an awful pundit. You can tell when he's analysing a bit of footage he has nothing to offer other than footballing cliches.

It's refreshing to listen to Klopp's post-match interviews where he talks about specific facets of the game. Pressing, high-line. He never deals in generalities. Whenever I hear Ole, bless him, it's cliche city.

Gary is outspeaking and often cause controversy but I don't find him offending, whether you agree with his comment every time or not, because he speaks with careful analysis half of the time, sometime with too much passion immediately post-event. Carragher and Lineker with less analytical content but not so offending.
Keane speaks without going through his head, or he might be doing this intentionally. Most of his comment were just personal, intentional hurting, no analytics and offer no value apart from shooting yourself in the head. The other so-called Liverpool legend is just about as bad, just don't want to put too many names here.
I think I can understand what these managers feel. The pundit can always choose the winning/right side to be on and criticize. Pundit can stick the knife in all they want, but they hold no responsibilities whatsoever. Can simply move away to next victim, if they're ever proven wrong.
Mourinho, Bilic... (who has more interest in getting back into coaching) doing punditry, you can see he is more respectful toward other managers than these pure punditry who live or die for these gig.
I am all in for Klopp being called out for his cringe passun act. However, these pundits are taking it from the wrong angle which put off reasonable fans.
I really wonder why Bilic wants to be coach? Is it simply the money? He is a graduate of Law School, speaks a few languages and also played in a rock band.
I hear what you're saying but it's much more than that. Mourinho used a press conference to respond to criticism from Paul bloody Merson! He tried to sound measured so he didn't come across as a cry baby and even started with "I have a lot of respect for Paul". Nobody has any respect for Merson.
Klopp picked up one word to criticise Keane and looked an utter tool. It's uber sensitivity that nobody can question my undisputed genius. Everyone should shower me with accolades at all times.
To me, it comes from not living in the real world but in the football bubble. Where players never truly grow up and the whole game is littered with hangers on and arse kissers trying to grab some of the crazy amounts of money that filters through the game.
There's a childish mentality right through football and it's epitomised by the top managers at the moment.
I do get your point about pundits taking cheap shots at managers and it being easy to do so from the studio. I watched "Tactics" Tim Sherwood absolutely slate Ole on the weekend.
For what it's worth (not a lot in fairness), I'm glad that United has a manager with too much class to engage with cretins like Sherwood.
Bubble is fragile. Most of managers also were coming through as players living in that bubble since their years of youth formation, so it's within expectation. It's beside only about hard money, but the lifestyle, privilege inside football club, and the affection from football fan, for managers IMO. It gives them a feel for power. Result can change quickly for worse. Managers want to maintain that bubble, and do so by confrontation via press. See how quickly things turn around for Poch. Pep to a lesser extend.
Lampard and Ole type has the fan backing due to their history with the clubs, but it wouldn't last forever even if they try, and clever enough to avoid bait. The initial expectation is low, but in the end, there would be no running away from having to show for the work. Even Wenger who did a lot of good, and weight lifting couldn't save himself.

What Klopp did is exactly what Ferguson used to do. He protected his players. They do not need the media scrutiny. All mistakes and sloppiness will be dealt with on the training field. In front of the cameras, the players did amazing and respect must be paid to the opposition.
No bubble, no arse licking. Plus pundits make stupid comments like they expect a team to win a game without giving the opponent a single chance. That's ridiculous.
I agree, but It’s the way Klopp answers which is interesting. Instead of holdning a 30 sec monolog he could simply asked Keane what he ment and stayed calm. He for sure has a very arrogant and strange behaviour
