Physical as they come. He battered Leeds. Time and a place and you clearly cannot play like that every week but this afternoon it was just what the doctor ordered.

I thought he immense. Very powerful player when he's at his best. Walked a fine line at times but a really good perforrmace.

I thought he was sublime after Pogba went off. Dominated Leeds.
Makes sense. Pogba is absent defensively.

Of course he's going to struggle when he's being put alongside someone like that.

For the occasion perfect today, but on a normal pitch he’s grim. But today, his physical play was what we needed.

Desperately need that holding midfield player what can dictate the game.

He was effective today, but not at actually playing football.

That's why we need players like him. Not the best footballers but will fight for every duels in matches like this.

Poor yet again. Anyone thinking he protects the back 4 really dont have a clue, running around fouling people and giving your gob off dosnt make you a protective presence, he couldnt spot danger if his life depended on it, terrible at tracking midfield runners... players run off him at will, and he's average at best with the ball.

Absolute must to upgrade the position.

It was an ugly performance but I have to say it was effective. Its not the type of game I'd like on any other day but in these conditions, away at Leeds I can accept it. McT was a necessary evil in there.

McTominey was a key ingredient in our win today.
Not pretty, sailed a bit too close to the wind with his aggression for a lot of the game and he showed some of his usual weaknesses, but without his physicality, desire and sheer determination, we would have been bullied and crumbled against a dirty, aggressive Leeds.
Sure we need an upgrade in this position, but anyone who thought he was poor is either blind or thick.
Just think! We don’t have a single player in the squad who could have done that job, other than McT.

He did a good job today I thought, his physicality helped us get on top of them in the first half.

How many times has he been set off in his career?

Maybe today he took it a little close to the edge but generally he knows when to hold back.
He hasn't been sent off thus far, but today he seemed over the top. He lost control, and that is a negative today as it could have ended in us with 10 men.

Doesn't count times he had the ball taken off him, which was probably more than any other player on the pitch, kept trying to drive the ball out, was not on in those conditions.
He was dispossessed at least 5 times, must have committed more fouls than any other player as well.

His decision making is just so poor and shows no signs of improving, it would of been ideal to bring him on for last 15 mins at the end but he was hindrance for rest of the game.

He completed the task he was set; make his presence known, give the Leeds players a kick, break up play and avoid a red card - which is easier said than in those conditions.

He was instrumental today.

Rubbish performance but that set-up gave him so little protection. He isn't a DM.

Many dont rate him, but I like him.
He gives it and takes it like a man, he showed up for a battle today.

Well it’s a tale of two fans really ain’t it, some thought he was immense today and others thought he was poor and a liability. I’m on the latter I’m afraid, yes he did put in some crunching tackles and wound the scum up, but he was caught out of possesion quite a bit and gave the ball away cheaply. For me he is not the permanent answer and is a squad player at best. Any other ref that had some balls about him would have sent him off late on as well.

Top match from him for this type of game. Hope people remember that while he has been playing a while now in the first team, it's just recently he has been put into the DM role. He is growing into it but, a ways to go. Personally, think he will become very good at it. Has the right attitude / desire to improve. He is not going to be a Carrick or Busquets in terms of passing but, he has hell of an engine and is good carrier of the ball and actually his long range passing is quite good.

As for today, he was lucky ref was lenient in the first half and even after his second yellow. He needs to learn to be a little more "innocent" rather than scowl after some challenges. Lot easier to give a yellow to an angry looking player because it seems like they intended malice.

Very poor, when Leeds are charging through your midfield and pinning you back you know you're doing something very wrong. Positionally bad, letting runners get away from him, and hiding from the ball forcing our defence into risky passes. Playing next to Pogba doesn't help but he needs to do much, much better than that.

He made some crunching tackles though so as always some fans will think he had a top game.

McTominay was terrific today. He brought the rough Leeds players to submission.

We need a McTominay in our first 11.

Not his best performance, but we needed his commitment and aggression in the middle of park to win what was really an old fashioned battle. Thanks to him we won the battle most of the time and that set the platform for the likes of pogba, bruno and sancho to flourish.

Tormentor of Leeds was quite compassionate today. On his typical Leeds duty it would be 6:2 United, two from McT.

No idea how he stayed on. Just wish if we had a decent DM with a bit of composure on the ball. Thing is we needed his aggression today but never composed enough on the ball.

He should have asked Donny for guidance on the "sad face" tactic.

This will be interesting.

How was it a rubbish performance? He would have claimed MotM if not for Sancho's double assist.
Just one thing was him flying up the pitch to crunch into a tackle (looks good for the fans) whilst Leeds played the ball around him and back into the now empty midfield. Leeds have the worst midfield in the league yet they were running at our centre backs all game long. That's McTominay's fault and any other team would have, and this season have, punished us.

We almost never control the midfield when he plays and that's his job above all else.

He had a great game he isn't a DM but one of the few players in there with a bit of grit a thugery. McT is one of the few players in this squad that I like.

Isn’t that exactly what Leeds do and what Bielsa wants, it’s a hardly a shock that they managed to do that a few times? Apart from the bit after half time we controlled the game pretty well I thought.

It’s a really tough ask playing that DM role with Bruno and Pogba, even more so when you aren’t that kind of midfielder.

There’s two other midfielders on the pitch. Did you not ask yourself where they were during these periods of the game?

It was a real scrap of a game, especially the second half. He was well up for the fight and was good today, all things considered. His strengths are what they are, as well as his weaknesses. He shithoused his way through the match and was throwing himself everywhere in the sheep patch.

He's a useless player who lives for chaotic games like this with little quality and control. He offered nothing and he's a guaranteed yellow card a game now.

He did all the Scott McTominay things well. The problem is that that role demands other things of him and I’ve seen very little evidence to suggest he can do those things to the standard required.
