People will praise him but he continues to be one of the main reasons (among others) why we can’t dominate teams like Leicester.

You can joke and meme about him all you want, but he was really good last three games.
This is why the forum like this becomes unbearable at times, he was really basic today but really poor the last two games and some posters will just come out like he's been great in all of them. If the standard is to play top10 we really deserve it if we thing this is even remotely good enough, against the worst team of the league this year.

Bossed it, haters are quiet.
To post this so quick after a game is just so childish... today he was good against a bad team (bottom of the league team) but he also got deserved critisism for bad games where he hid, made some bad tackles and had terrible passing. That said, he was good today, defended well against Southampton and was good against Liverpool. Seems to be in good form but i expect and hope that Casemiro will take his spot soon.

Very good tonight, but he has these performances every now and then.

We are approaching games more pragmatic and sitting deeper, which suits him down to the ground.

Played well once again. Haters really need to get a grip. He’s not Pirlo and never will be, but he does his job.

Last two games sort of show that —
52% vs 48% in our favour vs Southampton
48 vs 52% in Leicester’s favour

I think McTominay kind of puts out his own fires; he’s good at winning the ball and showing some grit in central midfield but a big part of that would be mitigated if we actually just controlled possession of a football game

Excellent first half, not quite as active in the second but he has been so much more positionally disciplined in these last 3 games, put a huge shift in as well.

"But he only made 30 odd passes so is singularly to blame for Utd having no control of the game"

He was better than he was against Southampton (where he was poor outside of defending)- he showed for the ball more, but we definitely need to get Casemiro into the first team.

It was more open in the first half in midfield, which did help. There wasn't much pressure from Leicester, which helps. He is fine for games like these, where they are more open and the pressing from the opposition is not hard.

False. We can’t dominate possession because literally no one across the front 4 can hold the ball and carry it the way Bernardo Silva Foden Mahrez and the likes do at City or Salah for Liverpool.
We could replace him with peak Xavi and we won’t be able to dominate against teams like Leicester consistently. Antony might help with that.

We didn’t dominate today because our STs first Rashford and than Ronaldo, everything they touched turned to shit. Nothing to do with McT. He was very good at what he was supposed to provide.

I just hope ETH can see through that otherwise he won’t last long here too.

Between him and Varane for man of the match. The Casemiro signing has lit a match up his ass.

Good defensively but still doesn't get on the ball enough for me. Only 7 more passes today than Casemiro. Just not sure how we can dominate the midfield properly with him in the middle as the most defensive player.

That said his defensive work was crucial today, hopefully he can keep it up.

Apart from his defensive work, he was surprisingly cool and calm on the ball today. Some neat passing and good decision-making. Probably our best player today.

Made himself big.

Played it simple and effective.

When he's not asked to do complicated football, he's good.

"Take the ball and give it to Bobby"
Bobby in this case - Eriksen or Bruno.

Nah, he played well for his standards.

In reality he was average for the past 2 games and played very well today.
Maybe the new style and coaching suits him, he seems a lot more involved and confident.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
Once again he was really good in the first half but fell away in the second half (although had a resurgence at the end).

Indeed that's three matches in a row where he's been good for 50% of the time. On the one hand 50% isn't good enough, but on the other it is better than he's done for a long time and does give a base to build upon.
