Wow really? I used to watch him when he did viewer raid teaching. Stopped when he changed it to just him answering viewer questions and basically blabbering on about his opinions on destiny.

I only watched him once or twice, apparently he was banned from guardians con by gothalian for that and once the female streamers came out last week on twitter bungie banned him from all there events and such

Interesting. Not just saying this because of what you have told me, but I always found him whiny and entitled on his Q&A streams.

Guess he'll need to find a proper job now.

Only recently started listening to his streams recently, found his rageless roundtable quite interesting.
He went to guardian con after he had already been banned, apparently he stole somebody’s badge so he could get in.
He was getting 4K+ people watching his streams before being this came about, be interesting to see what numbers he gets when/ if he comes back to twitch,

Both Luminosity & Lil Sonic have been kicked out G1 Lumi for tricking a girl into thinking she was his girlfriend, then posting pictures of her in discord with other creeps doing the same thing. Lil Sonic for Ddosing people (even though he’s probably well in the top 10 players in the world)

Don't know much about him, but the little I've heard & read has made him come across as a absolute douchebag. Not going to speculate on what is happening now, I think it is better to wait and see.

Thought this was about Method, who have also fecked up with Twitch after all the Josh stuff. If Twitch are banning you, they know somethings happened..

Should extend this to Youtubers too. Some that have blackfaced, some that have sexually assaulted, some that have been engaging with minors. Some doing all three of them. Biggest at the moment who is getting it is Shane Dawson.

I'd be worried if I were a YouTuber right now. Last time there was a scandal a lot of sponsors pulled from the platform.

Angry Joe had an allegation made against him to do with sexual assault. His lawyers are involved and he’s adamant it’s a lie.

Anyone see the video of the Aussie streamer who basically beat up his gf live on stream when she tried to get him to turn off?

It’s a horrible video.

Internet fame is the worst kind of fame and all kinds of fame is bad.

He’s about to stream now for the first time, apparently with significant evidence. (Even though he’s made & deleted two apologising videos), to no surprise it’s subscriber chat only

What a fecking douchbag. I've since read the accounts from some of his alleged victims and I found their testimony highly convincing and I believe them.

I'm going to watch it to give it a fair shake, but straight off the bat "you WILL be shocked!" "you WILL understand!" it's the same trick Shapiro and other such scum play to reinforce us from the start. It's also written by a team, including lawyers, that's clear as feck. Though, he admits it "going through" them.

So Lono has gone from apologising for what he's done and saying it was unacceptable etc etc..... to saying that he's an innocent man being framed by conspiring women.

Could he behave any more like a royal cnut if he tried?

The stuff which came out about Methodjosh this week makes me fecking sick. The twitter post by Poopernoodle detailing how he spent a whole night raping her is one of the worst things I've ever read.

Yup. The stuff coming from the Smash community, including Cinnpie who at 24 had a sexual relationship with a 14yo boy, is sickening too.

I mean, I'm open minded enough not to instantly believe everything. But he DID post 2 apology videos, then said he was getting help, now comes out with a pre-recorded video with no questions? Yeah, I'm on the side of creep at best.

From what little I've seen of reddit and the Hearthstone sub reddit, a popular streamer who has been quite open his struggles with mental health issues has committed suicide.

There has been some talk about sexual assaults in here as well, is that related?

Not 100% but I don't think so. I think the Reckful incident is nothing more than a man who succumbed to his depression.

@Rado_N there has been a whole host of streamers being banned in the past week or so.

Some accused of sexual assault. There are probably 10-15 prominent streamers that have all had this happen within a short time period.

Just going to point out that I don't know if the suicide is related to this at all.

Not to Reckful. There has been a hell of a lot of sexual assault allegations in the Smash community alone over the past couple of weeks featuring 14/15 year old victims to people in their mid twenties.

That's alarming. Is there some kind of gang related angle to it, or just a coincidence that they're in the same community?

Is there a brief overview of all this stuff available for those of us who have no clue what's being talked about?

Seems like there's a variety of issues?

Yeah, multiple issues across Twitch/YouTube etc.

Twitch - been lots of people speaking out about sexual assault, rape and statutory rape. Either streamers being assaulted by other streamers or fans being harassed or sexually abused by streamers. A lot of the claims have substance to them as many who have been called out have admitted to doing so. There are a few that deny the claims (One of the prominent YouTubers going by the name of Syndicate has denied abusing two fellow streamers/youtubers) but it's damning for the whole industry. Lots of dodgy things happening too where 14/15 year olds have been drunk at parties and then slept with someone over the age of 18 (Smash).

YouTube - bunch of them getting called out for blackface, racist comments, sexual abuse etc. Most of it is happening in the beauty community where Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star are getting absolutely ruined by the internet and have had ads removed by YT on their videos. Even Jaden + Jada Smith called him out for sexualising Willow when she was around 11. He (Shane Dawson) also admitted to googling child porn.

Also a lot of Discord chats where nudes have been shared between youtubers and twitch streamers which is equally as vile.

The Reckful situation doesn't appear to be related. Rather that he was someone suffering from depression for a number of years, was having an episode, posted some tweets during that, received abuse from a bunch of people and that tipped him over the edge.

I honestly don't know. I think it is the case that that community is a magnet for predators given the large number of underage players on the competitive scene. It isn't just the Smash community that it is happening to but it is the most prominent and one allegation I read the other day was that there's a house that housed 24 streamers, there were parties there with underage people having access to alcohol and that multiple people knew exactly what was going on with various acts happening to underage people there.

SW's post is a great summary of things.

Eurgh that's grim

Has anyone in here been following the recent scandals?

For those out of the loop, which is probably 99% of you as the FGC is pretty niche: a ton of professional fighting game players/commentators/tournament organizers/content creators etc are getting cancelled. Most of them for pedophilia, grooming or rape. It's pretty devastating stuff. It's like the #MeToo movement on crack. Some mods on Reddit have tried their best to gather information on all the accused(and accusers) in a mega thread:

That is an excellent OP. The Twitch thread doesn't have the best name to be honest. I'll merge this into that one, rename it and move it to the CE forum as that is probably the best place for it.

It seems like a position where pedophiles can thrive.

Streamers and the like can build up large fanbases of young people who idolise them then they can use that fame and worship for sexual things.

That's a tough watch.

Thanks for killing my thread bud :(

Another huge problem: the US has shitty public transportation so these kids need to carpool with older players. Hotels are expensive, so sharing rooms is the norm.

What I can't understand for the life of me is how the culture of 14-15 year olds partying and sharing hotel rooms with people in their late 20's(or older) became acceptable. It's beyond weird and obviously a ticking time bomb. Why do parents allow this? And how do the older community members who take part in all this excuse their behavior? Maybe I'm weird, but I remember going back to college in my mid-twenties. I would always feel uncomfortable when 19-20 year olds(the legal age of drinking is 18 in my country) came to a party or a bar where me and students around my age were drinking. We would all immediately feel extra responsible and make sure that the younger students didn't drink too much or get into trouble. The very idea of hanging out with young high school students in these settings makes me feel nauseous.

Had to stop reading some of those. Vile. Watched those Puppeh clips and he looks about 10 years old in some of them. How the feck could anyone find that sexually attractive is just something that my mind can't comprehend and that woman (Cinnpie) is disgusting. I feel so sorry for all of these people that have had their innocence stripped.

@OleBoiii I keep thinking that too. My parents would never let me meet up with random people on the internet at the age of 14/15, especially if they knew that they were in their late 20s.They were even cautious about me going round to parties with my actual friends at 14/15. I just don't understand how you could let your child do that.

Oh sorry! I should probably have warned people about that one. That's probably the worst of the lot :(

Disgusting is too soft a word to describe these things.
