Incredible performance from Giggs and he just keeps going on and on despite his age. Its just incredible to think he is nearly 40 years old, still playing at such a high level and keeps on making top performances even against the best teams in the world.

Real good game from giggs. Chased back at times very well to give support defensively and hinder Madrids quick counters. Showed a level head going forward as well and did plenty of good work on the ball.

I think both he and SAf will get another CL before its all over, either next season or the one after.

Give him a contract for next 10 years. I am so fecking happy that I was wrong for saying that this will be his last year as a player. Love him.

EPLStuff: Ryan Giggs has apparently given his 1000th-match shirt to Cristiano Ronaldo after getting it signed by the entire Manchester United squad.

That's quite bizarre if true.

Lets hope so as they both deserve it especially Fergie. He will want that third European title to add to his records and to join Bob Paisley in the history books.

Nice gesture. Now Ronaldo can stare at the thing and know all the players that want him to come back

No chance of dipping performances from Giggsy after signing a contract. You hear of this so often with pro footballers, but it only ever seems to spur him on.

There is only 1 answer for why Giggsy is still going like a machine at this age.

Imogen Thomas' fanny is the fountain of youth.

My theory is that he undergoes regular specialist life preserving treatment similar to Mr Burns in the Simpsons. He's actually 104 years old.

Can there be any doubt that he is our greatest ever player? What I wouldn't give to be able to wind back the clock on him and have him be 17 all over again. Then again, he seems pretty good at doing that himself.

One day someone's going to hit Giggs like Rodallega got Rooney, and carve open a gash in his leg. A camera close-up will reveal wiring.

The bit about Aguerooooooo was nice, love you Giggsy.

And the bit about Tottenham too when he was very bad, cracking read.

Great interview. Gives you a glimpse into how much hard work and dedication he puts into keeping himself fit and ready. He's no freak, he just sacrifices and works really hard.

Is that true! A living legend!
If wikipedia is to be believed.

Giggs has never been sent off when playing for Manchester United and only once when playing for Wales, on 5 September 2001 in a World Cup qualifier against Norway;[79] Giggs received a second yellow card in the 86th minute.[80] In November 2003, he was found guilty of improper conduct by the FA due to his behaviour during the Battle of Old Trafford game against Arsenal (one of two United and six Arsenal players charged over the incident);[81] Giggs received a £7,500 fine but avoided suspension.[82]

Giggs trying stupid flicks is nothing new, I'm just annoyed we didn't take him off before then.

Obviously it's nothing new but at his age he really should know just what a dangerous area that was to try a flick, pretty criminal really, sure he's hurting from it.

Agree that we should've got some fresher legs in their sooner.

Shouldn't be playing CM against top teams in a 2 especially.
