I fail to see what Mason will do as head coach that he couldn’t as assistant coach, given he has the same support staff and players to work with.

The way the club has been run, I’d expect the club to do this but it’s a classy gesture from the players, I agree.
Agreed but it's not a refund that sets a precedent, it's a one off action to compensate the fan's in a bid to get some quick support. I doubt they can play much worse than that with the players they have and with the last of Conte's team leaving I think at the very least they will be more unified and produce better performances
If any game needed a refund it would have been Bournemouth at home
Agree that this was a unique situation but I just wonder where the line is drawn? Next big loss or a pathetic performance and you have fans asking for their money back again?
Mason was a crucial part of Conte’s team too. I think they’ll play a couple of good games when they’ve lost the possibility of top 4. Before that I doubt it. As what Conte said of their mental strength was spot on.

You could understand a loss of that magnitude against the likes of Madrid, prime Barca, Bayern, City etc, but not against Newcastle. They shipped 5 goals in 20 minutes, absolutely woeful, fair play to them for reimbursing the fans.

Yeah Mason. After their matches against us, Liverpool on Sunday, Palace (H), Villa (A) and Brentford (H), they'll probably sack him too. Levy in charge for the Leeds match in the last day of the season.
Levy should reimburse fans out of his own pocket the clown. Players do a lot more good with their money than him.
I think most Spurs fans would prefer to launch Levy out of Spurs.

Just my personal opinion: Levy gave up on getting CL for next season. Witn Poch going to Chelsea is imminent, Levy just wants to keep the fans on side to renew for season tickets for next season.There is no guarantee Levy would be able to get a popular manager this time to keep the fanbase hopeful. So he is having the players to be apologetic to the fans and Ryan know the club Mason as a shield to weather the storm.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team lose 4-3 as often as spurs. I prefer the ones when they are winning 3-0 and end up losing 4-3 but yesterday seemed extra spursy, the quintessential spurs.
What other matches have they lost 4-3? How many times from having a 3-0 lead?
Tottenham conceded 57 goals and there are still 4 games to go. Only 4 teams have conceded more, 3 of which are in our around relegation zone (Saints, Forest, Leeds) + Bournemouth. Such a high number of goals conceded for a team currently in 6th place. They have also scored lot of goals (63) - only 3 teams have scored more but new manager will have to bring in some quality players in their defence for Spurs to be decent again.
So far Ryan Mason looks like he can get this team up for a fight, even though they still start game awful. That looks to be the limit of their current squad and their lack of mental fortitude. Not just lack of coaching because when they find their feet in the game, they play some good football.

This is their main problem here, the defence is a shambles. Dier should not be a starter for any team wanting top 4, squad player sure, but never a starter. Romero whilst good on the ball can be a bit rash, but I think I would keep him as a starter. Lenglet not good enough, Davies is ok. Sanchez is a clown, has not improved at all in the however many years he has been at Spurs. Not sure why he was not moved on years ago.
And they have a bunch of wing backs who defensively are poor, although to his credit Royal has improved a lot.

Unless they beat Leeds (and Villa don't beat Brighton), Spurs will be without European football for only 2nd time since 2005 (08/09 season they missed out on Europe). While it's depressing for their fans and Conference League would actually be good chance for a trophy, no Europe would at least mean playing 1 game a week most of the season and maybe improving under new manager.

Very rarely works that way. Football is a momentum game. Knowing Levy they definitely won’t invest properly without Europe money.
To me they’re actually at a crossroads. They could easily be overtaken (long-term) by Brighton, Villa, Brentford and the likes.

Having the best stadium in the Country and being a London club alone will keep players interested in going there. And they’re very well supported.
Why have they struggled to sign big players then? There’s a definite lack of ambition with the current owners.
To be honest, our business while in the CL has actually not been that different to our business when we're in Europa or out of Europe. Not like we're buying super stars either way.

That’s true. But despite some of the narrative at least you have spent some money. With the lowered income I can see Levy becoming even more tight.
Because we're not seriously trying to sign big players. It wasn't within the remit of the owners. If we were semi regularly qualifying for the CL, and Europa otherwise, why bother? You spend huge transfer fee and, more importantly, huge wages, without any guarantee that you'll win any trophies at all, let alone the big ones.
So you follow roughly the same route and same style of player, even if you're now shopping at a slightly higher bracket.

Also a good stepping stone for young players who can get game time over some of the dross Spurs put on the pitch week in week out. If you were an up and coming potential superstar playing in midfield or defence you would back yourself over the majority of the Spurs squad. Pretty much walk into the starting 11 over Skipp, Hojbjerg, Sanchez, Dier, Lenglet. If you are 20-21 sign a 4 or 5 year contract, by the time you are winding down to a year left on your contract you would be coming into the prime of your career, and the ability to go anywhere if you are good enough.
