They've been shit in most games this season. Their luck is just starting to run out.

Why does Kane feel the need to play as a number 10 at home to Newcastle? You’re a world class 9 play like one.

Because the team is him, Son, 8 workhorses and a keeper, just as Conte likes.

I actually want spurs to draw at least. Even a win as I want Conte to stay as long as possible.

Kane's going to be in such a strong position next summer with just 12 months left.

Interested to see who comes in for him. You had Bayern Munich hierarchy out of nowhere last summer suddenly talking about him.

O.k he wants to become all time prem scorer but he simply has to consider that move if he's really serious about winning stuff. Then can come back to prem at 33-34 and then break the record.

They've playing shit for some time now, it was just a matter of time before results catch up to their performances.

Because they have no number 10 - there is a huge gap between him and the CM. This is why I don't like the 5-2-3 formation; it just creates a massive disconnect.

Kane has had to fill both 9 and 10 roles ever since Eriksen left. They never replaced Eriksen.

Their wing backs should be providing creativity, but they don't do much.

Newcastle finishing in top 4 will be a nightmare for the rest of the league. They have the deepest pockets. The second coming of City/PSG.

Question for the Spurs fans, were you better under Mourinho than you are Conte? To me it looks like you were (even if we're talking about a very low bar here)

It'll be 1st season where they finish below Arsenal after 2015/16, 7 years. And it seems Arsenal are going to win the league. Terrible for them and I never expected it after that NL derby last season where they won and eventually finished 4th.

They scraped through last season with a very abject midfield and relied heavily on Son and Kane to produce the goods. It was a very low quality race for fourth in all honesty.

Truth is they have plateaued since Poch left, and Conte still doesn't have a squad good enough to go the distance in the league.

Apparently Qatar are looking to buy spurs. That will make 3 of the ‘top 6’ teams in the league state owned.

It’s bad news for united and Liverpool.
It may just be a tactic to get either one for cheaper. Although spurs do have a brand new stadium, so there’s a lot less work required.

Remember when people called them the Harry Kane team under Pochettino? That was completely wrong back then, but now i’m not so sure. This season he is pretty much single-handedly keeping them in the fight for top 4 and trophies. Spurs fans should enjoy it because i’m not so sure Kane wants to stay when he pretty much have to score or assist in every game just to keep them in the fight for top four.

They are missing Bentancur, he at least can pick out a pass occasionally from midfield. Their wing backs are rubbish, and Conte's system relies on excellent quality wing backs. Royal probably the worst wing back in the league, Doherty average, Sessegnon still what 21? 22? Perisic is ok but at 33 doesn't have too long left at the top.

Recruitment has been average to poor, not Chelsea poor, but poor none the less. Kulusevski, Bentancur, Richarlison, Romero all you would say are hits. But weighed against that are the likes of Bissouma, Royal, poor, but not utter failures like Ndombele, who is Taraabt v2.0.

It seems its the trend now -- owners having multiple clubs. Economies of scale? Or a platform that allows sponsors to reach multiple leagues/markets with a one-window scenario?

QSI (the formal owners of PSG) surely can't buy Spurs. Or - well, they can. But then Spurs (or PSG) can't compete in UEFA competitions.

As per the current rules, that is.

So, they (Qatar) will have to do it through some other bullshit "organization" than QSI.

Where is all the outrage at Qatar's human rights violations and LGBTQIA+-$% issues when they're about to invest heavily into a PL club? It was not okay to host the WC, but it's okay to invest in British football?

As they say, 'money talks, bullshit walks'.

I'm willing to bet that most posters on here who were critical of Qatar as WC hosts are also critical of Qatar as potential Spurs owners.

(If that is what you mean.)

I'm willing to bet that the media will stay quiet if Qatar invests in a PL team (be it Spurs, United or someone else). You won't see much opposition from NGO and HR groups - we've seen it with Roman, Man City takeover, Newcastle etc.

Oh but host a WC and it's a big human rights problem

Fair enough, I agree.

I took your post as being about the responses on here - not about the mainstream media.

Conte won the PL with Moses and Alonso as wing backs... With Juventus he used Asamoah (a midfielder) as his LWB when he got a record braking season with Juve. Only time he had real quality on the flanks was at Inter with Hakimi on the right and the (also improvised) Perisic on the left. But the common theme was always quality midfield.

But I believe this Spurs side has deeper problems than that. His Juventus side had some of the world's best midfielders back then (Pirlo, Vidal...). His Chelsea had Fabregas and Kanté. The title winning Inter of Conte had experienced quality players in defense and in midfield.

Compared to his Inter side, who in the current Spurs roster is worthy of a place in this eleven. Kane is better than Lukaku, Lloris still better than Handanovic, and that's it. Some others are of equal quality. But who are the Brozovic, Barella or Eriksen (pre heart attack Eriksen) of this Spurs side ??

This is his best 11 at Inter when he won the league.

An excellent breakdown of that specialist in failure Levy's tenure at Spurs:

https://worldofhotspur.com/the-great-con-of-tottenham-hotspur/
He's turned you from a team that used to regularly finish in the bottom half of the table having the likes of Steven Carr playing full back, to having a team that's challenging for top 4 regularly, whilst having one of the best new stadiums in the world, with revenues which will now challenge any top team in the league. All without external funding coming in. To do that organically is pretty damn amazing. It's a job most in football couldn't have pulled off.

Literally doesn't matter if you win nothing. Revenues that challenge any top team in the league? It doesn't go to the team, that's for sure. Look at tonight Dier and Davies v Haaland. Two players that should have been booted out 5+ years ago. Don't even get me started on Lloris........

Their record in the big games this season is absolutely atrocious.

Lost to Arsenal home and away, lost away to us, lost at home to Newcastle, lost at home to Liverpool, lost away to City.

The only decent result they've got was a point at Chelsea and they were terrible that game and incredibly lucky to score in the last minute and snatch a point. And Chelsea this season are rotten anyway.
