Spurs new stadium | Loses NFL for 2020 but gains appearance in Gangs of London £££

I'm sure Glaston said it was nearly ready and they were doing test runs and a certificate was going to be given on completion.

Delayed by at least 2 months, and they only figured this out now?

You mean Glaston was wildly exaggerating something to do with Spurs? Surely not.

Good job Chelsea didn't move into Wembley this year, what would Spurs do then?

Drove past it yesterday and still has several cranes hanging around. No surprise it isn't ready considering the test events were meant to be in a couple of weeks.

He's the king of spin and will almost definitely be on here within half an hour talking about how all builds go overdue and the main thing is that it, whenever it does arrive, it will be a feat of engineering matched only by the Hadron Collider.

Will this effect season ticket holders or is Wembley priced into their model already? Either way, not ideal, however you try and paint it. Better to be safe than sorry though :)

It's amazing that an item of negative news about our new stadium is the prompt for creating a thread about it.

Never mind discussing the stadium complex itself, including its many unique features, let's have a thread about a short delay in it opening :wenger:

I don’t understand, I didn’t think you can play at two venues in a season?

Get over it.

Take it easy.

I think they can be lenient on this rule in certain instances.

I mean what’s the point of the rule then? Does Wembley have to re do it’s schedule because Spurs can’t run a project properly?

Silly comparison, but they relegated 2 clubs from the first stage on the football pyramid round my area, because they didn’t have floodlights - that they’ve been asking them to do for ages. You have to actually enforce rules, as what’s to stop other teams doing just not bothering with them?

Nothing a bit of cash to the right person won't fix.
Sounds about right.

The stadium will be fantastic, the issue is that some teams will be playing Spurs in different stadiums. Its against the rules and affects the uniformity of the league. Also it was obvious as far back as March that it wouldn't be ready on time so they should have committed to Wembley for another year rather than making deadlines they knew couldn't possibly be met.

It's a rival teams forum. What did you expect, a circle jerk thread in which United fans came together and marvelled at the fact we will have heated seats?

Live in the real world, mate. Rival fans aren't nearly as excited about our new stadiums details as you are. A chance to have a little dig at an opposition team is much more interesting.

How can it be against the rules when permission has been given?

And why should Spurs wish to play an entire another season at Wembley, when they can play most of it their new stadium?

It’s unique in that it doesn’t have a trophy cabinet.

Also, calm down, it’s a good talking point as it affects the scheduling of the PL season and brings up questions about fairness of teams playing Spurs in two different venues, which was against the rules until they allowed you to do it this year. I imagine them agreeing to it was in the basis on a few games, which is now turning into half the season.

Yes it will be a fantastic stadium, but try to take a step back and look at it from a neutrals POV.

Well a lot on here are circle jerking Liverpool and City so it wasn't an unrealistic expectation.

Hilarious!
Probably because the workers were too busy harassing girls walking past and not getting on with the job. If this had been done in China it would have been built months ago.

Why would they need permission if it wasn’t against the rules?
