It's amazing that an item of negative news about our new stadium is the prompt for creating a thread about it.

Never mind discussing the stadium complex itself, including its many unique features, let's have a thread about a short delay in it opening :houllier:
Do you often forget you're on a United forum?

Should have spent at least £200m net on transfers this summer, on top of the £1 billion invested in the new stadium complex and training centre. Talk about penny pinching!
I mean Grealish is good mate but I'm sure Villa would have accepted 100 at most.

Drove past it yesterday and still has several cranes hanging around. No surprise it isn't ready considering the test events were meant to be in a couple of weeks.
Spurs own the cranes.

Maybe they are struggling to find a buyer.

Don't you mean 1,000 times … with you making 999 of the complaining posts?
You mean when you told everyone we'd definitely sign players and when we didn't and people weren't happy you called them crybabies?

Classic.

I don't really see what the alternative is apart from Wembley. That said, it'll be an impressive stadium when finished.

Realistically, this isn't much of a big deal in the long run. The stadium timeline was always super aggressive and it's clear Spurs made contingency plans (including clearing the potential use of Wembley with both the PL and the FA) well in advance. I'd like to be in the new stadium as soon as possible and not play any more "home" matches at Wembley (which have been super unpopular with Spurs fans) but on a construction project of this size some delays can and will happen and I'm not going to get bent out of shape about it.

BTW - if you want to see melting though, go to any Spurs forum right now (or Twitter, etc). No signings in the summer + stadium delay? Holy hell, you'd think we got relegated to League One or something right about now.

I said I thought we'd sign a player or two … not that we definitely would.

All you seem to do is bitch, moan and criticise. I guess it goes down well with the oppo fans on here, but maybe that's what you like …. because they certainly like you for doing so.

Good luck with the romance. And keep up with the moaning - you'll soon be rated on here as the best Spurs poster ever!

Relentless moaning at least makes a change from relentless positivity. Both equally irrational.

 You're such a tosser, jesus christ.

By moaning you mean taking a realistic stance on our club, and not crying myself to sleep every time a United fan makes a joke about Spurs on a United forum? Get a grip of yourself. I don't take myself/my posting as seriously as you do, seemingly you think it's your duty to come on here and defend our football club at every possible opportunity, it's honestly so embarrassing to watch you squirm your way out of every ridiculous claim you make as it inevitably backfires and you make our fans look stupid.

If you bothered to not focus on your pathetic agenda, you'd realise I have praised our football club/its manager repeatedly, merely also criticized us for having a rubbish transfer window. You don't want to focus on that though, you're only interested in me daring to step out of line and question Lord Levy. Congratulations, you managed to turn me making a couple of jokes in to something serious because you can't handle a few lighthearted comments.

Imo should be deducted points stadium was never going to be ready for the start of the season.

What’s the deal with season ticket holders for them this season then? Are they able to just use them at wembley? Guessing - due to capacity and it being a new stadium - season ticket prices had risen for Spurs, will there be reimbursements if so?

Won’t effect results but I’d be somewhat pissed if I was a spurs fan. No money spent on transfers this summer because of costs to a stadium which isn’t ready for the season they were told it would be :houllier:

Why? They agreed to use Wembley as a contingency - which is what they are doing.

It’s a little embarrassing for the club, and is probably very annoying for the match day fans who have paid for season tickets - but they haven’t done anything materially wrong.

Interesting to see if UEFA are as accommodating as the FA have been. Talk that Spurs might have to play their CL home games in Wembley all season.

Also if they can't make the City fixture they can't use Wembley as there is an NFL game there that day. What a mess.

"You're such a tosser ..." + "pathetic agenda" + "... perfect place to go when we sign nobody again. Bet that's been his plan all along the tight fisted cnut."

Light-hearted comments? Righty-ho.

Your 'realistic stance' on Spurs consists of wanting money for everything - new contracts, training centre, stadium, new players - with no care as to where it might come from. All combined with predicting dire consequences because we didn't sigh any new players.

And you generally assume the worst of motives for Levy. But I guess it's easy to sit on the sidelines and toss in brickbats.

I could have told them that months ago just by watching their progress videos, and I've only been a struc. eng. for a few years. Someone was clearly selling them dreams.

Have you considered a position with the Trump administration as a PR specialist?

I called you a tosser with a pathetic agenda because you made a weird post attacking me because I made a couple of jokes, somehow managing to turn a couple of people liking my posts in to a dig. Would it be better if, like you, I made everyone hate our club?

The 'perfect place to go when we sign nobody' was obviously a joke, I dunno how you're incapable of seeing that. Are you getting offended on behalf of Daniel Levy?

Also, I have no idea what you're talking about. You have made all of that up, I've said plenty of times I am perfectly aware of our budget, I merely question our priorities at times. I wanted to sign one or two players this summer as cover, and you have suddenly decided I wanted a 200m splurge, all because it suits your narrative that I'm a super demanding fan who wants the club to bankrupt itself. Honestly it's pathetic, the worst I've predicted for us is finishing 5th and probably losing a couple of key players as a result, but have consistently stated we're perfectly capable of getting top four.

I'm very sorry I don't follow your approach and make every post propaganda, repeatedly telling rival fans we have the best facilities, stadium, players, manager, chairman in the league. I'll try harder in future to be disliked by everybody for making wild claims and then backtrack when they don't follow through. It's like you search through the forum looking for any post which has the slightest dig at Spurs and feel the need to fight back, rather than just accepting you're not on a Spurs forum and plenty of people will not be particularly favourable to the club.

Anyway, I'm done here. I don't want to turn this thread in to you vs me, it's about our stadium delay. My comment about Levy/the bar was obviously a joke, but I do apologise if I insulted your boyfriend.

I wonder if this is related to their transfer window in any way. Trouble in paradise?

We just need the Spurs PR rep Glaston to come and put a positive spin on anything that happens within the club. Im sure if Kane was hit by a bus and gave up the ghost Glaston would be on here proclaiming the benefits of Kane's passing, how it will 'galvanise the squad' and 'bring the team together'. And allow Spurs to push on to that next level, win the league and pick up some cup trophies because of the togetherness of the squad.

This is hilarious in fairness.

That's a terrible summer all round for Levy. The king deal-maker who couldn't close a single deal, and now this. Delighted for him, the smug twat.

These Spurs threads remind me a lot of Arsenal forums in the late 2000s and early 2010s.

I'm with Glaston. Starting a thread about relevant Premier League news is just not on, when we should be here praising the ground-breaking architecture of what will be the new White Hart Lane. Shame on us all.
