13/05 (Mon) -

A few pointers,

1) Adhere to the designated template for the match OPs.

Write-Up Template

Philosophy/Ideology of tactical set-up
...

Style - Possession/counter attacking/Wing-Play/Flank overload/etc

Defense

Defensive Line - Deep/Normal/High
Marking - Zonal/Man-marking/offside-trap/custom (man-marking CBs & a sweeper) etc
Off the ball - Aggressive closing down/standing off/tucking in defenders to form compact defense etc
On the ball - Build up Play/Rapid transitions through sweeper/Basic & risk-free passing to midfield etc

Midfield
...

Attack
...

Player Roles
...

Specific Tactical Manoeuvres

Diagrams, gifs or in depth explanations of certain moves - wing-men swapping/false 9 dropping deep to form triangles/wide midfielder tucking in etc

2) All OPs will be of the following format -
1: A's write-up.
2: A's pics.
3: B's write-up.
4: B's pics.

and all OPs will begin with the following statement first and foremost

Voters are asked to consider the XIs featured as remakes of classic teams, and to consider to what extent the manager has succeeded in re-creating both the individual roles and the overall functionality of the original. THIS IS NOT A FANTASY MATCH BETWEEN TWO SIDES, but rather a comparison of remakes.

Please feel free to tag the managers if you require more information about their set-ups/players etc.

with the poll question being - Please vote for the better remake of the classical set-up

3) Please keep the match day discussions as civil and gentlemanly as possible. Remember, this draft is about placing the spotlight on the intricacies and beauty of historical tactical set-ups, and not so much about just winning draft games. So it goes without saying but more informative and educational posts, and less slanging and mud slinging please.

Good luck gents.

Regarding EAP's proposed new voting system

Whilst we do believe that the proposed ratings system is a pretty nice idea, given the experimental theme of this draft, the draft committee has decided to retain the current voting system over the proposed ratings method for a few reasons.

We want to encourage more voters to vote and whilst there is always the potential for a few outlier votes (as there always has been), we don't wish to potentially dissuade non-regulars from voting - as there is always the room for uncomfortable confrontations etc with the proposed system, with neutrals being tagged to explain their votes etc (for instance the last draft where just about every non-regular was uncomfortable under the spotlight given the circumstances). The draft committee also doesn't wish to have the power to determine/vet votes and it was always designed to adopt a laissez-faire and a non-interventionist approach, apart from minor disputes etc. We feel it could potentially be opening a can of worms when it comes to determining which votes are valid and which are not, in quite a few cases.

I think there hasn't been a draft I haven't drawn @Gio

How is your availability, mate?
Yes that committee is more bent than FIFA. Unfortunately I'm out of action at the moment as my wee daughter is in intensive care. Can we hold off confirming a date for a few days and obviously if my unavailability prevents the draft from progressing to the next round I will gracefully step aside.
