Not sure any manager decides how much a player gets.

The manager is most certainly involved on new contract negotiations. A player isn't offered a bumper new contract worth multiples of his current one unless the manager confirms his intention of status within the first XI.

That poster is on a crusade against Solskjaer, his comments are fueled by some sort of twisted agenda towards our manager.

Don't make shit up, I'm behind Ole 100%, I just don't believe in certain approaches like the British core one.

If you're going to accuse anyone I suggest you back yourself up properly.

Oh... thats just sad, So many valid arguments against Ole but people choose these stupid ones.

Read my posts. It's quite stupid if you think Ole is completely unaware of that Rashford is offered a 200k contract

People seem to be coming round to the fact that transfer fees have changed dramatically in the past few years, so £40m being the new price for an average player... So why are people struggling to understand that wages also move in line with the fees and £120k is now the norm for an average players.

Might not be right but it is what it is.

How else do you earn your incentives that are based on a weekly period? They'd have to be realistically achievable targets.
that's if you believe everything you read..... Press Association last night reporting that it was 200k a week

I'm not buying the 300k figure myself

They don't earn weekly unless the bonuses are fixed ones like image rights and loyalty bonuses.

In the Lukaku's contract (according to the leaks) he had 4.5 million bonus if he scores and assists 50 goals, that won't be paid weekly and it won't be paid based on percentages. That's the incentive, reach that mark and make 4.5 million per year as a bonus.
Do big english clubs still pay their players wages weekly? In Italy and Spain it's usually two lump payments over the year

I have no idea, just know that the wages are reported as weekly (which makes no sense). I prefer Serie A style, where wages are reported after tax and also annual wages.

If they're good enough and fill a hole in the squad then who cares how old they are?

Obviously there are other factors such as experience and whether they're even good enough.

Anyway, I have no idea about two of the three so we'll see.

Just going to have to trust Ole. It's obvious he sees a gap in the team for a player like Longstaff, so surely he's got a plan to fit him in. I'd rather this than buying big players and trying to fit them into roles they're not used to playing in.

Honestly think that -

James
Wan Bissaka
Longstaff
Bruno Fernandes
Maguire
Ben Yedder

Would be one of those most intelligent transfer windows we’ve had in years. It looks to have a clear vision and it’s not a scattergun approach that we’ve seen in the past. We’re not gonna go and spend £300m in a season so it’s a mix of players we need right now (Wan, Bruno and Maguire) a goalscorer who is more reliable and hassles from the front and a couple of youngsters with real promise.

Getting us back to where we were isn’t going to take one window.

I imagine it is monthly. When clubs get in to financial problems it is usually stated that players haven't been paid for a particular month.

Does any seriously believe that adding three 20-21 year olds is going to improve us?
It only matters how good they are. Better capability in one position can also have a positive affect on players in other positions. It depends what timeframe you are expecting to see improvement over. Bringing in experience hasn’t served us well in recent years. Plausible?

Bang on man, well done. Top, top, TOP post.

TOP POST. GREAT POST. REALLY GOOD.

So it means he decides how much they get? This isn't FM. Fergie was aware of what rooney was getting, jose with Sanchez. It still doesn't mean they had a say in the figure given.

But as the other poster said, you're agenda driven so Common sense isn't expected regarding Ole.

Carry on.

Yes and no. If they have potential I see no problem. But if people think they will be anything like the class of 92 they are going to be disappointed.
This hype about the England team and u21's is just a false dawn. Easy run in in the world cup, and bottled it in the Euro's Overrated players like Declan Rice valued at 70 million. If anything football is much more technical than it was in EPL these days, English players don't posses that technical skill set! We think they do, but they really dont

I'd go along with this. I feel like we're filling some obvious gaps. If we get a CB to go along with Wan Bissaka, our defence suddenly looks a lot better.
When it comes to Ben Yedder, I'm not 100% keen on him, but I do look around and think, which other strikers are available right now, so with his age, it sort of makes sense.
I do feel we're missing a RW, but I also feel like we want Sancho, possibly next season, so why buy now to discard next year.
Fernandes and Longstaff is good. (Don't know much about Longstaff, but the price is low) I just wish we could add one more name to the list, a DM. My choice would be Ndidi, but just somebody other than Matic.
I'd also like Ndombele, but hey, can't have everyone!

Are you claiming Ferguson had no say in what Rooneys contract would be? that is truly hilarious. The manager has zero influence on a players contract negotiations. Christ.

You are seriously deluded. I have no agenda against Ole. I'm behind Ole. You'd believe anything!

Being called deluded by a poster who thinks a manager has a say in how much is paid to a player.

Going by your recent posts, it sure looks that way but it could just be you're clueless regarding whose job it is to decide salary's. So you're just blaming the manager.

Yeah, maybe we should go the other end of scale and sign players like alexis + matic .... oh wait that's been done and failed . Target younger players build for future ,just like the period were Chelsea dominated when fergie was in charge, buy younger and hope that in few years they take you to next level.

I would be happy to see Dalot go, he’s hideously overrated here. I’d argue that if Ole had Fosu-Mensah last season, raw and inconsistent as he is, he would have been first choice because both Young and Dalot were abysmal.

What? He's played a handful of games for us at right back, he's 19, just moved to a new country to play for his countryman Jose who then got sacked a few months later. He's now playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world under much more pressure than he's used and he's then been played out of position at right wing because his crossing is so good. I'm a little confused to how A) He's hideously overrated, since I don't see many raving about him yet and B) How you can make that judgement already.

Of course they have a say. They speak with the chief negotiator (Matt Judge) on who they value as indispensable and must be retained at all costs, who are squad players, who they can be without, and so on.

Ole's estimation of Rashford as some indispensable world class superstar is factored into the moneteray value of his new contract.

I still can't believe you thought Ferguson had no say on how much Rooney would earn at the club. He doesn't have the final say but he had influencial say, As does Ole.

What recent posts? I don't have to agree with every step a manager makes. It doesn't make me biased to disagree with some of his moves. I ultimately still support him. What a foolish suggestion to make.

He's injured and can't train, his signing should have nothing to do with the squad going to Australia.

I've no idea about his injury status or whether the transfer is even legit but to be fair it makes sense to want new players on the tour even if they can't play just to integrate them with the squad.

But you Carry on.

Agreed - let's move on.

I'm still creasing that you think a manager has no say on contract renewals for players. That was a good one!

Keep up the good work
