We'll come out with some press briefing that Spurs demanded a too high transfer fee for a player that doesn't seem 10000% determined to join us, why we chose to cancel the deal.

That is the problem we now have. Inter/Juve now know we need to get rid of him. It is putting us at a disadvantage. Pogba we don't need to get rid of, so we are in the driving seat there.

There was prices mentioned of €100m+ earlier on. If both parties want to move on then this may be much lower now. No harm in trying.
If you freeze him out after demanding too high a transfer fee, the net result will simply be that you will sell him next year for a cut price fee, having paid his wages in the meantime and his replacement arriving that much later.
It's time to bite the bullet and just see how much you can get from inter before saying yes and good riddance.
Why is Fernandes the better signing exactly? Eriksen has been brilliant in the PL for years whereas Fernandes has ONE good season to his name, nobody had heard of him a year ago.

Lukaku talked a good game about how mentally tough and determined to succeed he is but when it came down to it he had no fight in him to force his way into Ole's plans.
How would Di Marzio and Fabrizio know we would say no to Dybala's wages? They claimed a deal was close, which it was by all accounts.
