Why did FCB pay a record fee for a teenager then at the time? I'm sure they must have seen something to justify the fee - but the guy didn't really develop in Germany. Was never that good. I know I'm being captain hindsight but I honestly never saw any good in him even after euro 16, not shocked to see him not making it.
I wasn't happy with the signing then because personally I didn't think he would be good enough. Ofcourse Bayern saw something in the euro's and before that to sign him, and a lot of other teams were after him at that time. Why did FCB pay a record fee for a teenager then at the time? I'm sure they must have seen something to justify the fee - but the guy didn't really develop in Germany.
@Fridge chutney I take it all back. I don't appreciate your bullshit transfer tweets. Dear transfer window, please end. I can't take another tweet about a shit club signing a person I've never heard of.
Sharp jawline with no chin. Guy looks like an FM regen.Tweet

Shit, I was hoping we might go for him in January as that release clause is low and would make the deal easy to do even for Woodward, ideal player for what we need.Tweet

...and Bayern reinvesting the Sanches fee (and a bit more) in Marco Roca. They are paying his €40m release clause.
This could move Thiago from the 6 to the 8 if(!!) Roca is up for the task.
@hasanejaz88 touched on it but Bayern's recruitment recently has been fairly subpar. Why did FCB pay a record fee for a teenager then at the time? I'm sure they must have seen something to justify the fee - but the guy didn't really develop in Germany.
Because he won't play for us and if we don't loan him out we'll pay all his wages. Inter are only 'taking the piss' if you think Sanchez is actually worth what we're paying him, which clearly he isn't. We pay him far more than he's worth, nobody else is going to do that. Why would we loan him out if we're paying a huge chunk of his wages? If we gonna pay that big of a portion of his wages we might as well keep him. Inter are taking the piss and looking to take advantage of us.
I hope the option to buy is obligatory otherwise it's a pointless move from the clubTweet

100% agree.Because he won't play for us and if we don't loan him out we'll pay all his wages. Inter are only 'taking the piss' if you think Sanchez is actually worth what we're paying him, which clearly he isn't. We pay him far more than he's worth, nobody else is going to do that.
Woodward did do it before with Nani and only a year after he handed him a new contract.this must be the most stupid deal in the clubs history, paying for a player to play in another club.
ffs EdWoodward did do it before with Nani and only a year after he handed him a new contract.
Having Sanchez round the dressing room is toxic. He needs to go no matter what the cost. You can't have players on those kinds of wages, who have a negative demeanor and whose heart is just not in it.this must be the most stupid deal in the clubs history, paying for a player to play in another club.
Why? We have a player we clearly don't want to play but can't/haven't sold.this must be the most stupid deal in the clubs history, paying for a player to play in another club.
How can you be sure he won't play for us? Season is long and we don't really know Ole's stance on him.Because he won't play for us and if we don't loan him out we'll pay all his wages. Inter are only 'taking the piss' if you think Sanchez is actually worth what we're paying him, which clearly he isn't. We pay him far more than he's worth, nobody else is going to do that.
No, it doesn't make sense at all. Why we wouldn't play him? Ole himself said that he rates him, Alexis wants to play for us( it is not that he wants to keave or something like that) and we lack options in attack. He can play in all 4 positions in attack. He is 30 years old player. We are acting here like we have City's level of attack and Alexis is some division 1 level player. So yes it will be stupid to pay him for playing for another team without forcing them to buy him next year. Option to buy is just ridiculous. Why? We have a player we clearly don't want to play but can't/haven't sold.
It makes more sense for the player - he gets to play, put himself in the shop window and keep his profile up. It makes sense for Inter - they get a player they want for a smaller outlay. It makes sense for us - we didn't want the player anyway so get to reduce our wage bill and hopefully Sanchez will do well enough to attract bids when the loan is finished, and if not we still reduced the wage bill for the duration of the deal.
As for leaving the squad with a lack of cover up front, loan deals often include some kind of recall clause where the loaning club can terminate the deal and player returns.
Makes sense all round.
We shouldn't be giving starts to players based on reputation alone. So far his perfomances have been far below what would be expected of a squad player or a youngster rather than an experienced international on massive wages. There is also little chance of this changing given his age and reliance on his physical attributes. We would be better off giving his playing time to Greenwood, Gomes and Chong, they're unlikely to perform much worse and are far more likely to improve in the near future, and as I explained, it's common for loan deals to have a termination clause where we could recall him in a crisis. No, it doesn't make sense at all. Why we wouldn't play him? Ole himself said that he rates him, Alexis wants to play for us( it is not that he wants to keave or something like that) and we lack options in attack. To say otherwise would be detrimental to our transfer strategyOle himself said that he rates him
I don't think Ole really rates him at all and I'd say you'll be able to count the number of PL starts on one hand this season, if he stays. To say otherwise would be detrimental to our transfer strategy
Not if him hanging around the squad is a negative thing.this must be the most stupid deal in the clubs history, paying for a player to play in another club.
Agree with the point in bold. Think it should be loan with agreement to definitely buy for 'x' amount. Not sure whether Ole rates Alexis or not. I don't think Ole is going to come out and say that doesn't rate as he could stay here and if he is negative I think he would be more negative if he was here knowing that Ole doesn't rate him.No, it doesn't make sense at all. Why we wouldn't play him? Ole himself said that he rates him, Alexis wants to play for us( it is not that he wants to keave or something like that) and we lack options in attack. Wrong. The most stupid deal was signing him in the first place. Getting him out the door even on loan releases half his wages again for a year, a significant amount. Why pay him to hang around like a bad smell?this must be the most stupid deal in the clubs history, paying for a player to play in another club.
He's lying of course. You don't come out and said "nah, I don't rate this player" when you are trying to sell him.No, it doesn't make sense at all. Why we wouldn't play him? Ole himself said that he rates him,
Wait, what? You don’t have him on ignore@Fridge chutney I take it all back. I don't appreciate your bullshit transfer tweets. Dear transfer window, please end. I can't take another tweet about a shit club signing a person I've never heard of.
