Allegri is a born winner. Successful everywhere. But until Woodward is gone it doesn't matter much between 4th and 8th

Really really really missed a huge chance not getting Conte. He really is world class!

Thankfully though for rest of the league.

I don’t want us to abandon our idea of getting a long term manager in, we just need the right one. Allegri wouldn’t be here more than 2-3 years regardless of how well he did.

It's knee jerk but honestly wouldn't mind Wenger or Benitez as a caretaker coach. This team needs some proper coaching really badly.

Two things that I don't get. First you don't appoint a long term manager that's not really a thing, you appoint someone that is good at his job and if things work well it can end up being long term. Secondly, Allegri lasted 4 and 5 years in his last two jobs.

Gallardo? Nagelsmann? Rose? Anybody home?

Would it be too insane for Poch to resign, Ole to resign and we give Poch a big signing on fee to make up for the money he'd lose for not getting that sack pay?

He started his new job three months ago.

You saw what happened with Chelsea fans and Benitez, so we'd be worse!

But Wenger with fall of time looks a decent interim now. It'd have looked laughing stock material a year ago.

Has to be some sort of contractual thing where you can't simply re-sign and walk into another job!

Otherwise, no team would ever pay another manager's release clause, they'd just get them to resign!

He won them the Europa league though. I wouldn't mind that.

Think best you can get right now is a defensive coach like Allegri. Your best part of the team is the defence, so you need to build from there.

But results will not improve dramatically, you will still draw a lot of games, but maybe with more resilience in the team, you can start to attack with confidence.

No one will improve us with the Glazers and Woodward in charge. We need a sugar daddy/super fan/oil state intervention here.
Right. Because every successful club have that.

Yes but certain managers are never going to be long term. I’m pretty sure LvG said he was only planning on 3 seasons at United. Allegri has already said he’s retiring at 55 years old, he’s now 53 I think

Will people please accept that the Manager means diddly squat when you don’t have the quality or calibre of players. Even Klopp couldn’t get a tune out of this lot

Poch. We're in a similar spot to where Spurs were when he got that job. Stars seem to be aligning, do the right thing Woody.

This is like saying a manager makes no difference to a team, which is utter nonsense.

There is still a basic level of competence you expect. If the players aren't good enough you would see still see the process. We are seeing nothing here.

Let's just knock down Alex Ferguson and Matt Busby's statue. Overrated.

I don't think that's knee jerk at all, I would take Wenger on a short term basis.

If only we had given Atkinson enough time to bring in those lads :(
Need the right manager but no-one is going to make a team out of this squad and Jose wasted the Glaziers transfer budget for the next few years.

Poch
Tuchel
Nagelsman

one of those 3 for me. Of course we will have to wait until they become available. Who’s available as an interim?

Winning a one team league playing terrible football doesn't make you a born winner

Can we have Jose back? Honestly, can we? Doubtful purely because Woodward wouldn't want to lose face and admit he made a mistake.

So what's left? Allegri? So that'll be another summer transfer window wasted, another season we let go buy, another season we're 'rebuilding'...

Yuck. feck no.

No other club is touching him with a barge pole, yet you're still suffering from Stockholm syndrome.

No. Sacking Jose was one of the very few things he did right, as well as bringing Ole in as caretaker, the winning run proves this. Giving him the permanent job was the mistake.
