United in this Summer transfer window

its 6.32pm on the final day of the transfer window, just over 4 hours left after a 2 month period to conduct transfer business, and we have done nothing so far.

We bang on that 'we are Manchester United' we talk about 'the Manchester United way' and yet we cant complete a £30m transfer despite boasts about being the biggest club on the planet.

Doesn't really matter how today ends now, its been a complete sham this summer.

Lots of auditions for 'top red' status about today. I don't think it is unfair to suggest that we have done badly in this transfer window. Far from it. But if we get nobody, so be it. We will still challenge.

Lets wait till the end of the transfer window to pontificate how the club is being run in regards to transfers.

The way thing have gone so far is that whenever I'm not on the caf, there seems to be a transfer update.

Im afraid his right mage. We are most likely to overpay for our transfers. Defenetivley new players lost preason.

I'm on 40th level. I shall summon You a player or two for free.

On a serious note, we do have underused budget. It shouldn't be a bigger problem as long as we'll decide to pay.

Does sound a good players, now lets hope Eddy can conclude the deal.

Actually he was also the one who showed people that we need a midfield boost, especially in Europe.

We're actually after the player who made us look like a bit of twats on the pitch.

This deals is logical on so many levels.

What's better of staying up till late following the roller coaster of this day or having a nice sleep and waking up to find if we managed to get both the deals over the line in time?

Spare a thought for me, am in India with an exam tomorrow at 10am IST :(

Working in Chennai currently. Well, was working till last week. Spent the whole day refreshing the caf at work today. Good thing my manager was out of office today :)

Back to work again from tomorrow :(

Haha. Yeah, I've been doing the same all day today.

James getting excited , Fellaini may be on his way. Looking over his shoulder and everything.

So according to twitter the herrera deal has fallen through due to tax we'd have to pay on top of the fee to sign him. But the Fellaini deal is all but done.
That would add up as even we, as fans new about this after the Thiago fiasco. What is the biggest club in the world doing? We are like a ship without a rudder. Bunch of clowns.

This is a moment when we need SAF to step in and take charge. How long can he keep his cool? He must be boiling inside. It must be like watching a kid try to put a round shaped figure into a square hole for him. Can't understand how Moyes could let this happen, being his first crucial season and all.

I don't think you understand SAF at all.

"Your job now is to stand by our new manager. Unless he does something you don't like, then I'll come in and save the day and you can all worship me. Worship me you cretins! WORSHIP ME!!!"

So to summarize. We've gone through the whole summer putting in silly bids for Fabregas and ended up haggling over 2 players in the last possible moment, to pay their buyout clauses...

Are we still getting banned for using the word 'embarrassing' then?

Anybody who had anything to do with transfers this summer has to resign. If they have any decency, they'll do so.

I am actually fuming. I didn't think I'd be so angry but the complete and utter amateurish way we have done things have made it even worse.

If the start to Moyes's reign had been a WUM. I couldn't have done it better. I really couldn't. It's been played to a tee.

What a difference a year makes. Going from Shinji Kagawa and van Persie to pissing off half the clubs in Europe, making bids for anyone and everyone and pulling out of deals at the last minute.

The bad press from this can definitely spill over and affect Moyes and the squad. That's my main worry. Signings or not, it's the effect the bad press and the reaction of this will have on the structure already in place.

And Arsenal sign a worldie like Mesut fecking Ozil. Arsenal! As I say, what a difference a year makes.

It's fecking unbelievable.

We spend the first month of Summer chasing Thiago without even putting in a bid, then after he decides do join Bayern we approach Barcelona to take another midfield off of them with an insulting bid about 50% below his realistic value. And we are talking about Fabregas, a player they don't want to sell and a player who doesn't want to leave, as he stated right at the end of July I think.

Any sane club would have given up by then but no, we follow up with a bid that's five fecking million higher and below what they initially paid for him, feck knows what we are expecting there. It gets rejected, we mumble some nonsense and move on to... £28m for Baines and Fellaini. £28m, a price that's £5m higher than what they originally paid for both. Not to mention that we bid the exact same amount for Baines the second time this Summer - why?

4 days before the window expires we finally realise that we might need to get some business done so we make a move for Herrera. He wants to join, he has a release clause that we could pay. What do we do? We offer them less money in spite of the fact that Athletic are never going to accept it. Obviously it gets rejected so we come back with 3 people who can't even sign papers for us on the last day of a transfer window, and then pull out of the deal with an hour left in the window.

And we obviously end up signing who? Fellaini, a player who has been available all along and even had a release clause below what we're likely to end up paying. No pre-season, no settling in with the team for him, why would we do that if we could wait a month and pay £4m more?

Oh, and did I mention that we also managed to approach Roma about a player they never wanted to and basically couldn't sell?

It does make me wonder if somebody senior at the club is trying to hang Moyes out to dry. That's how bad it's been.

' We are always a club in for the best players.' He really does look a prat.
