Does anybody know anything about Kluivert's coaching credentials? He's always come across as a bit thick to me but if van Gaal has him assist him in a second job, obviously he must see something in him.
Retirement and coaching career[edit]
On 29 April 2008, Dutch media reported that Kluivert would take part in the coaching course of the Dutch Football Association (KNVB) to become a professional football coach.
[10]The
KNVBrequires that all coaching badge candidates complete this sort of apprenticeship. On 18 July 2008, it was reported on the football website
Goal.comthat Kluivert would be spending the 2008–09 season as a member of the backroom coaching staff of
Eredivisieclub
AZ.
On 21 March 2009, while having an interview on
Soccer AM, Kluivert said he is currently coaching the strikers at AZ. On 24 January 2010, Kluivert agreed to a two-week coaching stint with
A-Leagueside
Brisbane Roar.
[11]On 19 May 2010, Kluivert told journalists he ruled out a comeback as a football player.
[12]From August 2010 on, he was an assistant-coach for
N.E.C., coaching the strikers. In the 2011–12 season, he coached the
FC Twenteyouth team.
In August 2012, Kluivert joined the Netherlands national team coaching staff to work under head coach
Louis van Gaal.

Edited to add:
During his first season as a coach he guided the
FC Twentereserve side to the championship in the reserve competition. He said that he was disappointed at the lack of interest his former club Ajax had shown when he started his training career.[
