Where are the United incomings?

Why sign players when the new manager is coming? Sure, ok. How about we loan some then. Best of both worlds - We get players to boost our chances of top 4 which is essential if we want to bring in our big summer targets, but the new manager isn't stuck with anyone he doesn't want. I'm sure there were loan deals there to be done. Im sure Zakaria was worth a punt at 3m. We are a shambles. And anyone who thinks games aren't coming thick and fast, take a look at March.

Glazer’s business idea. Buy a few players for a lot of cash. Since they were very expensive they must be good. Block all outgoings and renew all contracts because it’s cheaper than buying new players.

We were never signing anybody.
No permanent manager, they are not giving an interim manager any money.
Isn’t he supposed to be upstairs though after this to help shape the future of the club? Then what’s the point if he can’t identify and sign players that he feels will work for the club in the long term (and let’s face it, will probably be here longer than the next manager anyway). I thought the whole point of Ralf was to get some structure and stability up top with the view of forward planning regardless of who the manager is currently.

We are woefully short in CM. Fred and McTominay are borderline not good enough, Pogba doesn't want to be here and is not disciplined enough to play CM and Matic is well past his sell by date and we have now let DVB go out on loan. Absolutely shocking that the team has been allowed to get in such a state.

Yet we have 4 keepers on the payroll. 3 of which will almost never play. Top teams in the league who already have better squads are strengthening. What a joke.

Absolutely pathetic from the club once again. We've basically forfeited this season. There's always an excuse ready to be rolled out. It'll take a miracle for us to finish top 4 now. It'll be even more annoying when we miss out on Ten Haag in the summer.

Just wait until the inevitable announcement.

Time to get the spin machine going and leak a load of rubbish tomorrow.

Something like "MUFC decided to wait till the summer as no long term targets weren't available. United are expecting a big window in the summer with Rice,Bellingham,Haaland etc all on their radar".

Utterly woeful that we haven’t signed at least 2 midfielders , no direction at the club whatsoever , the worst times ever never seen it so bad , it doesn’t matter if we are waiting for a new manager we need to keep up the league for champions league place and the current midfield is not good enough that why the lack of goals and chances created

You joke but I’m desperate for him to be given a run.
So am I! But it shouldn't be at the expense of midfield reinforcements which we desperately need, especially now

So why not loans then? That way we get the reinforcements we need to give us best chance of top 4. But the new manager isn’t lumbered with anyone.

100%. We are absolutely clueless. If we don’t get top 4 the only way we’ll get our big 4 targets is to overpay them. Which is the whole reason we’re in such a mess to begin with. Absolute amateurs. So sick of our board and our parasite owners.

100% followed by "Newcastle have inflated the market and we couldn't do the deals we had planned to do a shop it would be irresponsible"

I’m not fussed about bringing in shiny new toys.

Just improve on what we already have with coaching and try some of the talented kids.

It’s obvious to everyone that United need a CM but I’m sure Ralf can cope without a new one for a few months.

Genuinely think its more important to sort out outgoings at the moment. But we have done nothing but loan players. Puts them in the shop window I guess, but if they dont perform even harder to sell.

Still, surprised we havent signed ANYBODY. Consider by the summer there may be no Henderson, Bailly, JOnes, DAlot, Williams, Tuanzabe, Pogba, Mata, Lingard, DeBeek, Cavani, Greenwood, Martial, Pereira, Matic.

Now obviously for different reasons with some of those names, wouldnt be adverse to any or all of them leaving and our squad needs cuttign down so not all of them need replacing and the majority of them havent been very good.....but thats a hell of a lot to do in one window. Seeing the likes of Zakaria, Aubameyang moving on free transfers, surprised nothing soter, Kamara would have been good

I never expected any. I don't know who people thought we were going to buy in January that would significantly improve the team, especially while we have no permanent manager.

I'm not going to get annoyed we haven't signed players the majority here hadn't heard of until the nonsense links this month.

I don't understand this whole panic here.

We have Matic for now as a DM, and have Scott as his back up. We have Pogba coming back from injury. Bruno is almost never injured(knock on wood) and he has been instructed to play deeper. We have Hannibal who will offer cover to our 8's.

So far we have Matic/Fred/McTominnay/Bruno/Pogba/Mejbri for 3 midfiled spots. It's literally 2 players per spot. How much more cover do you need?

As for why "we didn't loan anybody?" Who? Who can we loan that will actually improve our starting 11? As of right now, there are no players that can be loaned and be better than Matic/Scott/Fred at the DM spot.

Why not buy someone then? Why? So the new manager that comes in does a DVB on him if he doesn't like him? We already have one DVB, we don't need another.

As things stand out board is being very tight and stingy and for good reason! We just lost Greenwood. We are losing, Lingard, Cavani and possibly Ronaldo and Pogba. We're not City. We need to save as much of our transfer kitty as possible. If we spend 25 million right now on a dud, that's 25 million we won't have during the summer.

The new manager will need a new DM, CM, CF and possible Wing Forward just of the top of the head. He will need every pound available to build his team.

We all know that United are lacking in quality in midfield.

So why is it that we are preparing to lose three players on loan including two midfielders without a sniff on any incomings.

We played with two number 8s and one deep-lying midfielder in McT in the deserved win against West Ham.

But right now we have Martial, Lingard and Van De Beek going out the squad on loan without anyone coming in.

Quite how Lingard in particular is not seen as ahead of Fred as an 8 alongside Fernandes is beyond me. Lingard has goals and assists in him. Fred we all know, as the stats don't lie, does not.

In our weak midfield we will be left with 30something Mata and Matic whose best days are behind them and an unreliable Pogba.

Is this really seen as good enough in our battle for top 4.
Those three barely get minutes. Why do you think they need to be replaced? So we can have another 3 players on the bench whinging about not getting minutes?

So if we spend 25M now, it will be on a dud and if it is in summer, it will be on an actually good player. I understand that we need not make any panic buys on last day, but that doesn't mean we should not have shopped at all in this window.

If we go to summer and blow away 100M on the likes of Rice, then there would have been no use of "saving our transfer kitty".

But if that 25mil dropped on a panic buy player now means we don’t have 100 mil to drop on rice, we’ll be right back at square one

You are right. We are not City. We are not as good as them or as rich. Probably we will never catch them. Panic buying now won’t help.

But if you think any sensible person is going to be reassured by your list of midfield options (“don’t worry we’ve got Matic”, for a start) you’re clutching at straws somewhat.

You might as well have said “let’s write this season off”. And no-one could really argue with that.

I am not recommending panic buys, but there was so much time to plan out 1-2 transfers for the winter.

Except Pogba is still injured, and Mejbris readiness for PL is essentially speculative. We have 4 midfielders for 3 slots. Also, we have 3 wingers for 2 slots. Unless you'd plan on playing Lingard or Mata.

Pogba is already back in training. He is about 2-3 weeks away.

Also that's Mejbri's role. He is supposed to be cover in case everything goes tits up. Till then he will get small cameos.
