Should've been one of the priorities to upgrade him this summer. Unfortunately, he's one of the managers favourites.
James hasn't proven himself in the biggest European competitions and you said that only because of the clubs that he played for, as both Bayern and Real are top class clubs. He wasn't an important part of either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. The German club didn't buy him because he wasn't good enough, cost a lot and his contract is also expensive. They prefer to invest in younger, more perspective and cheaper players and that's what we should do as well. I simply do not believe he would be an improvement for us - he's not proven in PL at all (this is our main focus at the moment) and he wouldn't fit to the new club's strategy. How can you say this would be a Depay-like transfer? James has proven himself in the biggest European competitions and internationally as well. Depay came from the relatively weak Eredivisie, where he did good and had a few decent cameos at the world cup.
The comparison is just strange. Buying someone like Bergwijn would be a Depay-like transfer. That's someone who has not proven anything in a strong league. James clearly has.
La Liga: 28 goals en 27 assists in 77 appearances.James hasn't proven himself in the biggest European competitions and you said that only because of the clubs that he played for, as both Bayern and Real are top class clubs. Pretty much this.Just give Gomes the minutes that Jesse plays. He’ll be more productive than Lingard.
ThatI'd love to see Gomes and Greenwood breakthrough this year, but for fans to say that they should start ahead of Lingard is just ridiculous. One has proven himself in the premier League, scored in World Cups, in cup finals. The others have shown decent potential in the reserves/U21s. I genuinely don't get it - I mean, it's just a weird destructive fantasy that involves tearing down a player who has played for us since he was a little kid. And why? Because his social media is a bit annoying and he's not one of the best players in the league.
You mean when they have scored against Panama? wow. or scored a goal in an FA Cup Final over 3 years ago or had a 6 week spell in the season before last.I'd love to see Gomes and Greenwood breakthrough this year, but for fans to say that they should start ahead of Lingard is just ridiculous. Yup frustrating for us fans. However Ole's backing of these will be his downfall.Should've been one of the priorities to upgrade him this summer. Unfortunately, he's one of the managers favourites.
Which is such bullshit. He's a decent player. Good work rate, decent burst of pace, has a bit of skill and likes a forward run, can shoot well from distance, and links up well in the final 3rd.Or you could watch him play and realise that he is absolutely terrible at football the rest of the time.
It's not ridiculous. Gomes is already better at passing in tight areas and has unbelievably good close control. Maybe even the best in the whole club. If they got given same minutes it's almost guaranteed he would have more assists , more key passes and won't lack anything from this "effort" people defend Lingard with.I'd love to see Gomes and Greenwood breakthrough this year, but for fans to say that they should start ahead of Lingard is just ridiculous. I think that may be the case as I've read we are planning to give him an extension soon and increase his wages by £30,000 per week. Which I think would be a mistake. He will last more than 10 years at United just as Jones..
Don't think we will get Sancho. If he has good season next year and good Euros his price is going to be phenomenal.Sancho
He is not a decent player , running around a bit without an end product is pointless, when was his last shot scored from distance, when was his last contribution and links with who exactly. It's not a question of not liking him , it's a question of having good footballers playing for United and he is terrible. The sooner either the youngsters of other incoming players remove him from the team and more so from the entire squad the better.Which is such bullshit. He's a decent player. Fine, you don't like him. But these narratives that he's "terrible at football" are pathetic.
Not as pathetic as your defense of him. Listen to the words you are using _Which is such bullshit. He's a decent player. Good work rate, decent burst of pace, has a bit of skill and likes a forward run, can shoot well from distance, and links up well in the final 3rd.

You keep yapping away about this "new transfer strategy" so why don't you tell us what that is because, as far as I can see, we've signed a defensive fullback for the first team and a no name winger who will ply his trade with the under 23s for most of the season. So again, remind me what this new strategy is? As far as James Rodriguez is concerned, if you don't think that he is not an improvement on Jesse freaking Lingard, then I don't even know what to say so I'll say nothing.James hasn't proven himself in the biggest European competitions and you said that only because of the clubs that he played for, as both Bayern and Real are top class clubs. I think you're being very harsh on Woodward in your post.I would like to see Gomes take it. Think that Gomes needs Minutes this year. It is going to be intersting year for Gomes as he is in the last year of his contract which Woody should have never let get this far and in my opinion is a glaring mistake on woody's part and I fear Barca are going to try to sign him for free next year . I think we should do everything possible to get Gomes to sign new contract, even if that meant selling Lingard tomorrow. Would hate to see Gomes leave due to not getting enough minutes instead of Lingard.
I respect your opinion on what you said regarding what I feel about Woody but I stand by my comment and don't think I'm being too harsh. Although I agree with your part in bold. Hope Ole gives him enough minutes as it would really p!ss me off to see him sign for someone else and fulfill his potential there not here as I think he is far too talented to let him go on a free.I think you're being very harsh on Woodward in your post.
Gomes will only sign a new contract if he's given assurances regarding his role in the first team. It's upto Ole to decide if he's gonna get significant minutes in the new season, which will in turn be crucial in Gomes's decision to commit to a new deal.
I'd have Gomes ahead of both Mata and Lingard..
If it was upto Woodward, then i'm sure Gomes would've signed by now. Gomes not signing a new contract has no correlation to Woodward.I respect your opinion on what you said regarding what I feel about Woody but I stand by my comment and don't think I'm being too harsh. I thought that it was Woody job to negotiate it. It just annoys me that he has gone into the last year of his contract and I can't understand why we haven't sorted it soonerIf it was upto Woodward, then i'm sure Gomes would've signed by now. It's gone into the last year because Gomes has been reluctant to commit with so much uncertainty surrounding the club. I'm sure the club would've tried to get his contract extended but Gomes won't commit unless he's given assurances that he will play a part in the first team.I thought that it was Woody job to negotiate it. Thanks for telling me the reasons why he hasn't signed yet. You can blame for being the same shitty player he's always been, actually scratch that, you can blame for getting worse and worse as a footballer. He's a fecking disgrace. You can’t blame him, Solskjaer is the clown that persists with this madness of playing a one paced nothing player. Crazy
Worse, it's like he's playing for Arsenal.Like 10 men
