What? Why? So you are employing somebody but immediately assume they are not good enough. The caretaker shouldn't be in consideration regardless imo.

He's probably got a house around here.So it’s gonna be Ole? Will he stay at the Lowry?
This is what I'm wary of. Understanding the club isn't half as important as understanding the job. If their version of attack is parking players up the pitch with no real patterns of play then it won't be a great watch and results won't be great either. Our values aren't actually that unique that we need to restrict this to former playersNot too keen on Ole over all, other than the fact he’s one of ours and great to have him about generally.
Thinking with my head though, I don’t want any ‘United way’ reds involved. The first thing they will do is put Valencia right wing, Young left wing, and try and cross the ball repeatedly.
Yeah, we have quite capable person in Woodward. Not too keen on OGS. Plus, SAF shouldnt have a say in this anymore. We really should move on now
Standard practice in business - you employ interims with a different remit and targets than a perm hiring. What? Why? So you are employing somebody but immediately assume they are not good enough.
No thanks. How would people feel about Bruce or Hughes til end of season? Steady the ship, get the club and players functioning correctly.
I wasn't happy with the thought of Solskjaer being appointed, but when phrased like you have, if this is the thought process I'm happy with it. The players have had the stick for the last 6 years with LvG and Jose, let's see which ones can perform when offered the carrot. It's not that black and white. If it was Mourinho with his incredible past record should have come here and won it all but he didn't. It's pretty obvious who we're going after but that cannot be done until the end of the season it's that simple. There is however no way in hell Mourinho could remain at the club with the way things were going. He was becoming a poison. We need someone in who respects the club, who the players will respect, a nice guy. There's no massive pressure on the rest of the season. We're not finishing anywhere above 6th in the league regardless, now's the time to start blooding the younger players we have, now's the time to start experimenting, figuring out who doesn't belong here etc
Hughes gives the impression he hates Utd and was the manager of City!!! So absoubtly no. Neither have the pedigree required. How would people feel about Bruce or Hughes til end of season? Steady the ship, get the club and players functioning correctly.
Yeah, I agree with this, especially the Hughes bit. I feel I want Blanc more than OGS.Hughes gives the impression he hates Utd and was the manager of City!!! So absoubtly no. Neither have the pedigree required.
That's not how Ole's Molde plays though, they play good attacking football.
I just have recollection of Giggs doing the same thing. Straight back into 442, Valencia one side, Young the other. They probably see this as them ‘getting what the club is about’.This is what I'm wary of. Understanding the club isn't half as important as understanding the job. It's not really a question of pedigree IMO. Both obviously have bags of experience. It's their style or lack of it.Hughes gives the impression he hates Utd and was the manager of City!!! So absoubtly no. Neither have the pedigree required.
Well...you can't win them allIn hindsight I have to deduct you points for specifying the caretaker was going to be promoted from within the staff.
When asked if he would take the United job Eric saidI can think of no one better than Eric Cantona for the caretaker managers role. He'd give the club a huge lift.
When asked if he would take the United job Eric said
"Of course," he said
"You would see wonderful football, for sure," he vowed.
Isn’t he a really, really defensive minded manager?Carlos Queiroz would be my pick.
Giggs was thrown in at the deep end with zero managerial experience with minimal pressure on results. Ole is being brought in to lift us and get us playing some good football again.I just have recollection of Giggs doing the same thing. Straight back into 442, Valencia one side, Young the other. They probably see this as them ‘getting what the club is about’.
By all accounts, Ole is a ridiculous appointment. There’s just over half a season left. If it were like Giggs to get us through the next 4 games then perhaps, but with so much of the season left, whoever comes in needs to be a serious candidate, he’s not there for a joke and to embarrass us further. Unless I’m mistaken, the thought of Ole being our next manager a week ago would be laughed off. Nowhere near a viable candidate surely?
Yes.Isn’t he a really, really defensive minded manager?
Can't wait to shithouse our way to a CL.Solsjkear's appointment would remind me of Di Matteo's when he took over at Chelsea, in that he's an ex player and his managerial record wasn't particularly great when taking over as interim.
We all know what Di Matteo went on to do, though...........
Close enough.Solsjkear's appointment would remind me of Di Matteo's when he took over at Chelsea, in that he's an ex player and his managerial record wasn't particularly great when taking over as interim.

I'm going with OGS it's easier.Close enough.
I think the finances wouldn't have permitted them to not have a decent season. United are much more commercial successful than Liverpool. I don't mean that Mourinho should have continued indefinitely but at least allow themselves a month to get a replacement. What if your ideal manager is at another club, what if your ideal manager has said he's only moving at the end of the season...leave Mourinho there while he continues to plunge the club into the abyss?
Worked well for Chelsea with Conte, can't see why we can't do it. Liverpool was lucky Klopp was jobless when they decided to sack Rodgers. If he wasn't should they have let him continue?
Similar things were said about Southgate, Zidane heck even Guardiola when he was first appointed. I'm not saying OGS is going to reach those heights but he may prove to be a surprising success. Any appointment is a risk in some respects.I love Ole but the idea of him taking over doesnt enthrall me
Is he? I need to do my homework. No, no managers ever described as defensive.Isn’t he a really, really defensive minded manager?
Both Barcelona and Real Madrid have appointed managers directly from being reserve team boss and in Barcelona's case, assistant manager too. The idea that a manager needs to have a certain CV is ridiculous. LVG and Mourinho have won titles across Europe yet were total failures here.I just have recollection of Giggs doing the same thing. Straight back into 442, Valencia one side, Young the other. They probably see this as them ‘getting what the club is about’.

We're not winning it. Simple as. You have to be realistic. The more I've thought about this, the more I want Blanc.
Ole vs PsG? Cmon, he'd be overawed.
We're in still in the CL with some fecking good players - bring in Blanc and lets try and win this fecking thing.
