That's why he's 150/1. But they could easily get through that group and he is on great form! You never know, just thought it looked very good value.
:nono:
You certainly have a good chance, but let's see just how easy it will be when we meet in the first match.

BTW, I see threads for WC teams, but do we have threads for discussions for specific WC groups?

Stuck some on Ivory Coast to win their group at 5.50, 3rd favourites behind Colombia and Japan. Relying on Falcao to drop out/play rubbish whilst injured, and Kagawa, Honda, Yaya Toure to continue their respective club forms.
Thanks for your vote of confidence, mate. :(

RVP's record at the world cup is poor and the dutch may not even get out of their group
Japans group is easier in comparison, they score a lot of goals and shinji could easily get 2 in one game which may even be enough
scored again last night by the way

The Dutch will probably get out of their group, but it'd be a huge shock in they beat Brazil again this time.

The bookies love the world cup, any one of 4-5 teams can win it and any one of 6-7 strikers can be the top goal scorer.

Isn't that the case with most continental competition like the Euro, Copa Americana, African Cup of Nations?

The only one a little predictable is Japan having won 4 of the last 6 (3 of last 4) Asian Cup

Day before it all kicks off and this has fallen to the way side!

BUMP!!!

Found some nice options today

Treble:
Brazil, Cameroon & England win / draw same odds on Paddy Power 2/1) €10 returns €140
Brazil, Switzerland & England win / Draw - €10 returns €100
England draw, Jap v IC draw & Germany win (v portugal) - €10 returns €209.25

Winner / Top Scorer Double - Personally I'm going for Germany win so with that in mind
Germany & Messi - 40/1
Germany & Higuain - 100/1
Germany & Neymar - 60/1
Spain & Neymar - 100/1

Di Maria is a nice punt @ 33/1 for player of the tournament.... In cracking form for Real this season and with their easy group and handy enough run then in 2nd round & QF could see him put in some great performances

Looks good in theory mate, and you would back all of those teams to win comfortably every time. But as with any accumalator, there's always one who will let you down. The one that I would worry about is France v Honduras - France should win comfortably but they can be unpredictable and they wont like Honduras kicking lumps out of them for 90 minutes!

Where can you find these doubles that involve the winner but a top scorer for another country? I fancy Spain/Higuain and Spain/Aguero but Paddy Power and Skybet are only offering doubles on same nation/top scorers.

Bets
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Personally im on France 10 EW, which gives me a free 5er with PP to place on Brazil Croatia - Correct Score 2-0

10ew on Benzema & Fred EW Top GS - 5er free bet any time either score - again with PP

20 on a Treble of Brazil, Chile and Uruguay for first few days matches (around 3/1)

Brazil to beat Croatia (2/1 with Winner.com max bet 10er).
Have a tenner on Brazil to wear yellow in first game (Madness from Coral) - Again 2/1 max bet tenner.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Returns
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats an outlay of £100 not forgetting the Guaranteed free bet of 5 pound on first game

So providing Brazil win ( And wear yellow which they have already said they will) by end of first day I should have 60quid spread over two accounts.Possibly more in free bets if Fred scores and the first leg of my treble should be in.
Im actually very confident in the treble which in itself returns £80. Chile are the ones I am fearful off. How and ever, regardless of their result my 60 that I get back will be going onto Uruguay to win. Provided they do, I will have either 86 in my account or 166. (Dependent on the Chile result)

Benzema and Fred should get off the mark early considering the groups they are in so should see them in good stead for the overall goalscorer market while the additional 5er free bets every time they score should prevent me from having to deposit for my smaller bets.

The money on France is for value alone, and a team to support I guess.
If Brazil lose on Thursday I'll be playing with the free bets from my goalscorers.

Lots of ifs buts and maybes. As I said, confident in the treble so should be looking at 66 quid back on Saturday. Play the long game. Its a month long comp ;)
Peace out
(feel free to pick holes!)

Again with a gang of us like this we only plan on betting on something that we ALL agree on. No passing the blame that way. Obviously form and injuries etc will be factored in in our decisions as we move on.

Treble

All to draw:
Brazil v Croatia
England v Italy
Ivory Coast v Japan

€10 returns €465

Huge odds because of Croatia getting a draw from opening game...

If you do a double on the other two, €10 is €93 return!

I'm going all out on Argentina/Spain bets this world cup. Argentina with their group should bang em in and I can't see past Spain for the cup. Its basically a no-lose situation :)

first part I agree, so messi/ aguero / higuain all fair shouts for TS! Di Maria for player of the tournament is 33/1... worth a small punt...

Spain, defo in with a shout of course...just have it in my head their dominance is due to run out, I think they'll lose out in the Semi's myself.. on penalties to the Argies!! Thats how I've done up my Prediction chart anyway

Couple of small bets
Favourites to go through the groups in a dual forecast at 300/1

Spain/Aguero at 100/1
Brazil/Messi at 33/1
Brazil / hulk at 66/1

Couldn't get a price for Argentina / klose

Yeah I was just looking at the Dual Forecast

Spain & Chile
Italy & England
Colombia & Japan

Treble for €10 returns €283.50

Honestly I'd be very wary of Italy though, terrible form since qualifying and I've a feeling they could be a huge flop!

Edit: If you go for Uruguay over Italy it brings it up to €321 for tenner :) not bad!

Has anybody found a world cup prediction competition, where you predict results to try and win cash prizes? I think party gaming and titan bet did one last time, but I can't seem to find any at the moment.

I've seen loads. The places I've noticed that have one are:
Betfred
Ladbrokes
SportingBet
Totesport
Winner
William Hill
NetBet

Probably more, they're just the ones I've noticed while on their website. Some are correct score predictions, some are dual forecast and then the ladbrokes one is to predict top 5 goalscorers.

If you haven't bet before, anyone in the loop know of any good deals to any sign up sites? such as free credit etc?

Any tips for a beginner? I'd like to have a go at a few this WC, give me an incentive to watch more.
