HEY EVERYONE I IGNORE SOMEONE LOOK AT ME
Torres is a better player than Drogba.
De Gea's a better keeper than Neuer.
Torres is a better player than Drogba.
De Gea's a better keeper than Neuer.
on all three.1. Suarez has a poor technique. I realise people don't like him here (and I certainly don't like him eiter), but I often read here that people still rate him as a player. I however just don't. His first touch is really average in my opinion and when he tries to get passed players, he always tries to run right through them for some reason. The times he actually succeeds, it involves a lot of luck rather than skill.
2. Bale is a decent player, but not world class or world class potential as he's often made out to be in the UK. He's good, but not THAT good. Overrated player (in the UK at least) in my opinion.
3. Neuer is an average goalkeeper who is overrated by the German press and the transfer muppets in the caf. Neuer being German, a goalkeeper and 1 good game against Porto, doesn't make him world class.
I'm glad we have a thread now were we can post our unpopular opinions.
This thread is a free pass for unpopular opinions, am I right?
Overrated cos people generally ranked him in the top 3 with Pele and Maradona.Kaka, fair enough, but Zidane?
I don't think they do really.Overrated cos people generally ranked him in the top 3 with Pele and Maradona.
I disagree with every single oneRooney is a better player and bigger United legend than Scholes.
Giggs is still a very good midfielder.
Ronaldo's a couple of classes below Beckenbauer and co. never mind Maradona and co.
Torres is a better player than Drogba.
De Gea's a better keeper than Neuer.
Busquets is the best midfielder around outside of Xaviesta.
Richards is a good attacker, not a good defender.
That's probably a sign he's right then.I disagree with every single one
Iniesta is the most overrated player of all-time
A bit higher than Ronaldo is him being overrated, though. Class below.I don't think they do really.
I'd say he's rated below Cruyf or however you spell it, and a few others.
He's rated in a similar league to fat Ronaldo, maybe a bit higher.
I'd agree with you there. I think he's a brilliant player who has been held back by Liverpool at times. I'd have said that finishing was a poor aspect of his game, but his hat-trick was sublime at the weekend.Suarez carries Liverpool most of the time. If he was surrounded by quality, he'd be an even better player.
I know he's a cnut, has a face you'd like to punch and is a racist - but he's an excellent player, no doubt about that. He stands out like a sore thumb at LFC though when the likes of Downing, Adam and Henderson are playing on the same pitch.
I wouldn't say he's excellent at all. He's a good player who looks better than that because of his flair and excellent dribbling ability. I don't think he's a particularly intelligent player and his finishing/passing is poor, at 25 he should be further on than he is.Suarez carries Liverpool most of the time. If he was surrounded by quality, he'd be an even better player.

It's not exciting but it is impressive to an extent I guess, I think they're over praised at times. You'd swear to God pressing and possession based Football didn't exist before Barcelona and Spain. It's good though, it has awoken some people in this country as to how Football should be played. With the Euros coming up I had one in mind to bring back this thread. I've never really been all that impressed or excited by the Spanish style of play, although it's generally loved by a lot of people out there.
That part is true. I'm not saying that it's a poor way to play football as it's not and I respect them for playing it, but I just don't think it's exciting as the media make it out to be, such as after the World Cup when they proclaimed it as a victory for football and all that. It's not exciting but it is impressive to an extent I guess, I think they're over praised at times. I agree, though I think we're all influenced by the United sides we grew up to love. I don't mind pragmatism though. Ideally you want to win and win in style but big games sometimes require nous. It's all about adapting to the game situation. There is no one way that football should be played.
Variety is the spice of life and all that, I can think of nothing is want to do less than watch Barcelona vs Barcelona, it would be soooooooo boring.
Spot on.Great defensive football is an art form.
Great defensive football is an art form.
Whether he's as good as some hyped him up to be, I'm not so sure, but I certainly don't agree with that. I think we saw enough of him at the start of last season and on his loan spell at Wigan to suggest that he'll be much better than Gibson, unless he's endlessly plagued by injuries.Cleverley is overrated and will end up following Darron Gibson by being marginalised before having a good career at a top-half side in the league.
He did win Fifa player of the year totally undeservedly one year ahead of Henry. Fair point.Zidane overrated?! Hahahahahahahahahaha
You watching them get played all over the place by Russia here? They also don't seem to be letting Pirlo dictate things......and shockingly as I said that, he actually did get the ball, and set it up to go in the net, although with Balotelli offside...Euro 2012
1. Italy are amongst the favorites
I didn't see his progress at Wigan, but I think he played mostly off the wing? Where he has played a couple of times after coming back from injury.Whether he's as good as some hyped him up to be, I'm not so sure, but I certainly don't agree with that. I think we saw enough of him at the start of last season and on his loan spell at Wigan to suggest that he'll be much better than Gibson, unless he's endlessly plagued by injuries.
That first one is complete and utter nonsense in my opinion. As much as Scholes is a brilliant passer, Xavi is probably the greatest passer of his generation.Right now, Scholes is still better at passing than Xavi.
Signing Ronaldo had nothing to do with us missing out on Ronaldinho.
I don't think it's complete and utter nonsense. I think Scholes is more imaginative but Xavi is more accurate. That first one is complete and utter nonsense in my opinion. As much as Scholes is a brilliant passer, Xavi is probably the greatest passer of his generation.
Over the top, Xavi is much better, but the cross field balls, Scholes is much better. I've watched every Barcelona game in the last few years (unless a weekday fixture coincided with United's) and believe this to be true. That first one is complete and utter nonsense in my opinion. As much as Scholes is a brilliant passer, Xavi is probably the greatest passer of his generation.
Nope I agree, in fact a lot of these opinions I agree with except for the XYZ player is overrated ones (Zidane especially).I think your average football fan places far too much importance on formations and they don't understand that it's the playing model that is the important factor and that formation is a function of the playing model. I think too many fans today base their belief on how football is played on their playing of games such as championship manager or FIFA football on the play station.
Mine is I bet the most unpopular opinion here.
