Why is his name under our first team? Call me slow, but I just don't follow.

If you change the numbers at the end of the URL, it shows other players. Roberto Carlos, Salgado....

I think it is a mistake in the database they have.

...

Because they add every single player mentioned on the site to the database. That way when there's a story about one of the players, the system will automatically find all articles where the player (his ID) has been mentioned. - mess around with the number at the end of the link and you'll find all sorts of players.

Oh and Amar in trying to discredit Madrid players shocker.
I bet your day consists of watching the odd football game and then throw mud at everything that's not pro-Barca, bit tiresome you are.
I can show you stuff from the bestest nicest player in the world and his angel teammates too if you want. Take your pick:

Anyway this isn't the thread for it but you get on my nerves.

^ You went through the effort of digging all that up and constructing it appropriately to prove that Barca arent saints?

Yes, I did. But don't think you'll find a Barca supporter that comments on vids like that. They mentally ignore them like they don't exist.

Welcome to Manchester reception committee
The kid can sell it on eBay.

Meanwhile.

When I saw the thread bounced in the transfer forum I thought it was in response to this story
http://www.as.com/futbol/articulo/mourinho-casillas-conflicto-vista/20120330dasdaiftb_26/Tes

According to this week's episode of Real(ity show) Madrid, Mourinho and Casillas are not getting along and Mourinho has asked his bosses to buy some serious competition for the keeper job. The name Courtois is supposed to be near the top of the list.

Vato's right. Some people posting on these La Liga topics come across as if they've got a day job at being biased.

Doubt it, chelsea own courtios and only bought him this year, and as he looks very promising unless they pay huge money already they wont get him.

No hard feelings mate, but I think Casillas is great guy, mate send mi video and I shared it here. I don't like Madrid, that's for sure, but I find Casillas as one of the greatest players in the world, and nicest for sure, so I didn't mean to discredit him.

It's just funny, it's not something disgusting.(at least I didn't find it in that way)

btw- feck Barcelona and Madrid, both teams are disgusting, I just like Xavi, Iniesta, and Messi, that's it.

This reminds me of the joke with the doctor who's showing medical students around then he sticks his finger inside the corpse and sucks on it. The students are all stunned but he said it's something they had to do. Then they all do it. He then says that if you pay close attention he didn't suck the same finger he stuck inside the corpse.

He's using his thumb and it seems to me he's scratching. Then he slides his hand over the kids face but the the thumb never touches the face.

5 x La Liga
2 x CL
2 x European Championship
1 x World Cup
IFFHS Best Goalkeeper: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011
UEFA Euro Team of the Tournament: 2008, 2012
FIFA World Cup Golden Glove: 2010

Has there ever been a more successful keeper? Pretty phenomenal for someone who's looked somewhat unconvincing at every stage in his career. Maier had one more European Cup but one less league title, and has one less European Championship as he finished as a runner-up in Euro '76. He won his last trophy at the same age as Casillas is now - 31.

You think he's looked unconvincing? Really?

I'd rate Buffon higher than him but I think he's a pretty fantastic keeper, never considered him unconvincing, he was probably a little more prone to mistakes than our great VDS but that's not saying much.

Compare Casillas, who consoled Italian players after the final whistle, to Llorente who did feck all and celebrated like a lunatic.

Big respect for Iker!

on a side note, why he has ''I.Casillas'' written on his shirt, he had simply ''Casillas'' for number of years :wenger:

He's had entire seasons when he's just made blunder after blunder (09/10 being the worst?), and in both this Euro and the last World Cup he's had a number of shaky moments, IMO. Tends to come up trumps in the big games though. Even on Sunday he came out for crosses he was never going to get and put his defence under unnecessary pressure but without him they could've easily went in at half-time at 1-1 or even 2-1 down. Not in the same class as Buffon at his peak as far as I'm concerned.

I think he's been poor for a while (notably lacking physical courage) but he looked better than for a long time in the Euros.

I would say entire seasons is a tad unfair, though certainly between 09-11 was some of the poorest I've seen him at. Maybe his reputation precedes him at times but I still think he's class, not at the level of VDS or Buffon (though generally regarded higher it seems) but certainly not far below anyway.

I also thought he was brilliant for Real this season, no?

He was very good this season as a whole. Didn't watch the Serie A so at at least apart from that he's easily been the best keeper.
He more than makes up for his blunders. He's almost always had a somewhat shaky defense in front of him with Madrid and he has won them points countless of times over the years.

it's also insane that he already has 137 caps for Spain. Assuming he stays their #1 for another 5 or 6 years and they keep reaching the latter end of tournaments he could end up on 200!

It's even more insane that he won 100 out of those 137 games. First ever player to win 100 games with his national team.

Don't get the criticism. He has produced some of the most memorable saves on the biggest stages. Denying Robben in the 2010 WC final. Saving the penalty against Paraguay in the semis around the 60 minute mark when it was 0-0. Against Italy he denied Di Natale, which was Italy's biggest chance of the game. And if I'm not mistaken he also denied Croatia's biggest chance of the game (header after the Modric cross).

For many years he had to deal with a joke of a defense. Still bailed Real Madrid out many times. 09 / 10, you say?
