Well, from the looks of things, one of the players who I was using to exchange's value somehow magically dropped by £1 million over night... so the bid was no longer worth what it was 24 hours ago, but I can't remember such a scenario ever happening to anyone on here before.

Check whether that team had a new player joined in at the same position to one where your swapped player would play, hence the valuation of your player decreased.

Around a month ago I was open to offers for my players to try and finance other deals so I made all of my players available but forgot to change their transfer statuses again after my business was complete.
As for the cash... probably not. The cash would be very much appreciated but at the moment I think Piszczek is one of the most important players in my squad and one that will be hard to replace or let go. Thanks for the offers though and sorry for misleading you with the transfer status.

The game's not random, it's more a kind of tactical paper/scissor/stone arms-race. If you're using the same tactics as you were a month ago then you're out of date.
