Both Rasmussen and Gallup +4 and +5

They approve of the President, but think Romney will do better. Hmm. It's possible, still probably unlikely.

All I can say that is if Romney wins the popular vote, I will still consider it a miracle result for him.

Couldn't be bothered to watch last nights debate.

However, those saying Romney is Obama lite or the nearly the same on foreign policy, what did you really expect? The country has been involved in two long losing wars. He cant exactly come out and say he wants to keep them going or start another that would be a death blow for him. I would suspect that both would be very similar on FP issues. Only thing Romney could try and differ on would be Iran and North Korea.

This one should have been a walk in the park for Obama because all he had to do was come out and be smooth. Romney is stiff and would need to be the aggressor and he'd of come off looking hawkish and that would turn off the voters (except a few).

Besides, what are there like 3 undecided voters at this point? People have made up their mind already.

Its not really about the undecideds at this point. Its more about energizing the base and reinforcing the decideds so they show up on election day.

Romney looks a bit clueless general to me. Half the time he keeps flip flopping depending what he thinks will show him in good light. The other half of the time he spouts emotional nonsense because he doesn't have good enough points to make.

I don't know much about American politics but from the debates I've seen and what I've read, it seems hard to believe this race is even close.

Why does the base need to be energized at this point? Are you trying to say two weeks before the election that is needed? I can see energizing the base in January, not a the end of October.

Because they need voter enthusiasm to make sure people show up to vote. Otherwise all of these polls mean nothing. It would make sense that voters need to be motivated to vote on election day and not 10 months earlier.

Not much has been said about Schieffer....I thought he was almost as shit as Lehrer. His questions were rubbish, he didn't ask follow-ups, and he let Romney drone on and on.

Yup, if the Dems managed to get all registered voters who would go for Obama to actually turn up and vote, they'd win. That's why they're so keen on the early voting.

I guess. If you don't like Obama there's no way you're not going out to vote him out. If you don't like Romney you're going out to ensure he doesn't get in. I know the debate numbers for viewership are high. I work in a place of about 50 people, not one has watched any of the debates other than me. The only people watching these things were voting anyway.

If you saw the focus group dicussion, you would laugh your arse off.

There were a couple of ladies there who said they were STILL undecided after that debtate.

just dont vote you bints...

One of them looked like she was on some good shit...spaced out freaky looking...or it could just be me :)

But I understand what Raoul is saying. Its just getting lazy arses to the polls.

I'd rather watch these focus groups than the debate itself. Mybe they should do one like the Fanzone or whatever it's called when they get a supporter from each side a footy match to call the game. Do that with the debates.

I understand what Raoul is saying I just think the debates, bar maybe the first one, have zero impact on getting voters out. The people watching were voting anyway.

Are any of the Nimitz-class carriers scheduled to be decommissioned? Because I know the Enterprise is being decommissioned this year, we've got the 10 active Nimitz-class carriers, and I know there's 3 of the Ford-class ships planned. So if the Nimitz-es aren't retired, that'll be 13.
They are supposed to have a 50 year service life. The next oldest was commisioned in 1975, so it could be still around until 2025.

he was fighting with Matthews for the guy who going to get the stroke.

was Sullivan a former conservative?

What is Coulter if not a conservative?
I'd choose a sensible conservative like Frum over a nutter like Coulter. Sullivan is a tory boy....which makes him a democrat over here. Cameron & Obama are very similar.

well sure...but I was thinking of the types you would want in a fanzone booth per CR's suggestion...just thought of those two.

btw have you seen Coulter's adam's apple???

Which'll probably be when CVN-80, whatever it's called by then (I like Enterprise, myself, but then I'm a nerd) will be ready.
A repub congressman wanted to name the next carrier after Barry Goldwater. There's a popular movement to stop naming the carriers after presidents, Enterprise is the most voted name for the CVN-80.

The next carrier, the JFK, will only cost 12 billion. Romney wants to add another. Nothing to do with his top naval adviser being heavily invested in shipyards and support services that will make millions from an expansion of the naval shipbuilding program.

We should be pushing for smalling carriers with more drones operating off the decks. Still need some room for fighter type aircraft, but can go with smaller crews, etc if the Navy starts moving towards armed drones.
I would bet that drones capable of fighter type missions are not that far away either.

but I digress. Anyways it is all nice to hear Romney wants another carrier, but he is not getting elected so what he wants isn't going to matter.

A Romney-Biden Administration? It Could Happen

A Romney-Biden Administration? It Could Happen

It's sounds crazy. It would be crazy. But it is possible that this election could result in a President Romney and a Vice President Biden.

Let me explain.

If there is a tie in the electoral college (and, as I explain below, there could be), it will be up to the newly elected House of Representatives to elect a President and the newly elected Senate to elect the Vice President.

http://news.yahoo.com/romney-biden-administration-could-happen-223736689--abc-news-politics.html
How awesome would this be just for the entertainment value of tv and radio alone. Please let this happen.
