Would expect the new contract to have a load of clauses in it for him to leave if a CL club comes in for him. I'd imagine his decision is influenced by the fact no big club really wanted him except Arsenal and that never looked like happening. With the World Cup coming up he can't refuse to play so he'll have to make do with Liverpool for now. This same scenario will probably happen next year when a few more clubs want him. In the meantime we'll probably hear stories of "Poor Luis" been manipulated by agents and how he has always loved Liverpool and the Kop for saving his career or some bollocks til next year when he's a wanker again.

I don't think his position for his national team would be jeopardised as I don't think there is much competition for it. He is like Rooney in the sense that he is vital to the national team irrespective of their form etc.

Does this mean the gooners on here will go back to hating him and the scousers will go back to loving him?

What's the first PL game he can play in this season?
Who gives a s***.. He will be driving Brenton crazy by then.. Hope we see Liverpool all in supporting T-shirts for Suarez at the begining of the season. He truly deserved it..

The 40 + 1 bid cocked up the entire transfer. I think this saga should be made into a major motion picture. As for Wenger I think if he doesn't sign a quality player (don't know who) this summer, it's time he and Gazidis left that club. They're officially running the club like their own company.

How many more games has he got to serve this ban for again? Is it only 2?

I want him to leave next summer regardless of where we finish, he's burned his bridges this summer as far as I'm concerned- I'll support him in the interest of the team but that's as far as it goes. Take the money next summer and run.

You won't be saying this if he scores 25 goals and we finish 4th.

It's natural for him to have some ambition. Maybe he's gone about it the wrong way but now it looks like he's staying, I honestly couldn't care if he wanted to leave as long as he performs on the pitch.

Those quotes were supposedly untrue and he has supposedly said that he hasn't made any comment. Well, apart from those comments, which may or may not be true. Confused.com.

Turning out to be another desperate summer for the Arse then. Big talk and nothing else.

Wenger will probably buy some crap players in the final few days who he will end up discarding in 18 months time.

If we don't win on Saturday, the booing and general hysteria will be unbearable.

Whatever we do now, the window has been a disgrace. The whole of Europe is broke, we've got £150m sitting there to pay up front on players and yet we're the only PL team not to spend a single pound and the season starts in four days.

It's like (in the past) Internet Explorer could become as crappy as they were, and people would still use it, regardless the bitching and moaning. Of course there was alternative, but most didn't like a change, lacked of knowledge, and it's already there.

We could do with Wilshere.

Wenger will solve his fitness problems and then he will join us after winding down his contract.
