It's amazing that how the popularity of a player can blind people here. I love Rafael but it's obvious that he deserved to get sent off today and yet people have somehow blamed Moyes for that.

Moyes has 99 faults, Rafael being an idiot isn't one of them.

Our best player on the pitch give away a penalty and should've been off. Says it all.
I was thinking the same. He's the only player giving us any pace or energy but I'd still be tempted to bring him off. He's not a player I would trust on a yellow for so long. Especially with the penalty in the refs mind.

Our whole backline is stupid today, only Rafael made mistake that costed us goal(and still it wasn't intentional). Jones and Vidic are also awfull.

Always a way to blame Moyes. Let's just forget Rafael did the exact same sort of thing under Ferguson
And every other fullback has little mistakes like that. He's 23 years old, the way people get on his back is sickening at times.

He wasn't worse than any of the rest of them this afternoon, but my god what an awful judgement for an experienced professional.

Easily our best player today, created our only chances and won lots of challenges, even which he wasn't supposed to deal with, where rest of our team just stood and watched thier players running at tem. And people wonder why some like him that much.

Silly handball that happens to everyone, but was much better after that. Only player today who was decent, him and rooney and De Gea actually.

Best player today despite a foolish yellow and a careless penalty.

His second half was very good actually. The one on Suarez really wasn't bad at all, Suarez just jumped up like the fanny he is. Certainly not a yellow card.

Made a mistake with the penalty but he puts the effort in as always.

After the red he was the only one making an effort. The rest might as well have not existed.
This. Stupid mistake for the first Liverpool goal but at least he was trying to win it and get forward throughout.

Only player that seemed to care. Probably our best player on the day. Dont really have any issues with his performance. Should have never let the ball fall to Suarez though, but playing in the full back position myself at times I know how those ones are. That monent it just passes your head you know you're fecked.

Flanagan got away with much worse on the foul front so I couldn't give a feck about how "rash" he was, he was trying. More than can be said for pretty much everyone bar DDG and Fellaini in patches

I think Adnan second half was our best player.

Rafael has had a poor season quite frankly.

It is amazing how Rafael gets murdered here, while on the other side Phil 'the best ever player' Jones hasn't been bumbed after his performance which actually was worse than Rafael's performance. Vidic was our worst defender today though. Again!

Sound about right, Revan. The difference in class on the ball from Vidic to Rio was huge. I would actually play Rio ahead of Vidic these days. Vidic used to be awesome inside the box - clearing the ball majestically, but his clearances these days are pathetic. Rafael, bar two brainfarts, was our best player alongside DDG. Rooney was decent too, but he keeps on losing the ball too easily.

Surprised to see so much criticism in here. He was our best player by far imo. I was far away from a couple of the fouls but he seemed to be the only one playing with belief, conviction and passion and I absolutely love him for it.

You know, much as I love him, and the effort he puts in every game, he really needs to bloody stop his brain fart moments. Conceding first today was a big blow, with our form this season. That being said, Sturridge was allowed to much room and time to float that ball over his head.

Best player today but seriously he needs to grow up now and stop with the stupid decisions. I'd genuinely consider lobbying for a new right back if he doesn't cut out this immaturity from his game. That tackle on Gerrard was so pointless.

To your left.
Our best player if you dismiss the brainfarts.

One of our better players today if you include the brainfarts. The only player, along with Januzaj, who was visible in the second half.

He had an absolutely mad 5mins today, smashing Gerrard unnecessarily in the corner, for one of the most pointless bookings ever, however many goons were applauding it at the time, then the ridiculous lack of positioning topped up with handling the ball!

He could have got a second yellow there.

And he certainly could have got the second yellow for a foul out wide, saved pretty much only due to Clattenburg already taking it back to book Vidic first.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.

There was another moment late in the second half where he looked like he was going to do Gerrard again but thankfully Flanagan blocked him off just as he was starting to charge toward him. That red mist really does descend sometimes, I do think it may be part of the reason I love him though, bizarrely. And he was by far our best player today, which is remarkable considering firstly he gave a penalty away, secondly he should have been sent off, and thirdly he very rarely had any options when he had the ball due to our total tactical ineptitude. This is also a big reason why Smalling looks so hopeless at right back, thankfully Rafael is gifted enough to beat a man and get himself out of the tricky positions he's put into.

He's our best player but he's dumb, don't mistake his stupidity for passion, if you can't control yourself you'll make mistakes that cancels your great performance, i love a passionate player but i really hate a dumb one.
