The matchday thread on Saturday will be interesting if he starts Young and Valencia.
With all the pace talk, I have a feeling he will start Valencia and Young and drop both Mata and Kagawa! Imagine that. Well, I will be on the F5 tomorrow from 16:30 BST non-stop.

properly...how?
By getting Valencia to do what he did brilliantly before Moyes came along, run at defenders and take them on, get past them, play one twos and get in behind defences and get the ball into the box. Something it seemed he forgot he was able to do under Moyes.

The one thing that stood out for me in Giggsys press conference was he wants the team to play with pace, to take the opposition on. Which means running at them. That suits Valencia perfectly.

Just so refreshing, he just looks natural. A lot of these first press conferences are very scripted and measured but he is just honest and natural. It's crazy how seeing him there over Moyes just brings the confidence back. I have never felt confident this season, tomorrow, I expect us to smash Norwich.

He went by the name of Wayne Rooney

He forgot it last season under Ferguson. If anything, he has been slightly better this season. Don't blame everything on Moyes.

Rewriting history there!

Valencia was worse under Fergie last year.

After last weeks performance I wouldn't blame him! Wouldn't be surprised at all to see Nani, Mata, Valencia, behind the striker.

BBC:

"Manchester United press officer Karen Shotbolt made a slight mistake at the start when she introduced him as "David Ryan" - that is how quickly it has all happened this week.

If we base it on last week's performance then Rooney should be the first to be dropped. It will be interesting who he plays and where. With all that pace talk Welbeck and Valencia are certain to start. Welbeck has been good for us this season anyway and Scholes at least likes Valencia. Then there's Rooney and Mata, will be interesting where they play and if one/both are dropped. And will Welbeck play as a striker or on the left? Then there's Januzaj and Kagawa. Hmm...

10 months of watching press conferences of David Moyes and Giggs' one was the best I have seen this season.

Says it all...

Ironically, David Ryan was one of the Club coaching staff who got his P45 after 22 years on the staff, in the Moyes clear out.

Christ keep on forgetting about Welbeck! I agree, still think Mata should play personally. There isn't anything about wazza being injured so I would imagine he will play too. Probably the same as the bayern 2nd leg but Mata instead of Kagawa.

Back row. Singing.
As someone who has followed and supported United since I was about 4, what he's said there today is exactly what I want to hear. At the end of it all, he's a fan of the club and understands and appreciates exactly what Manchester United is all about. He'll have the respect of every single player in the dressing room tomorrow and rightly so.

United legend and I hope he enjoys what will be a proud moment for him tomorrow.

Excellent presser. Don't think I heard Moyes mention taking players on or wanting players to express themselves once while he was here.

I could imagine even the players cringed every Friday at 2:30pm when Moyes started his press conferences. Breath of fresh air hearing Giggs in his first press conference. He seemed so much more relaxed and natural at it than Moyes. I always felt that Moyes' press conferences were forced. Even when he was saying we would "try" or "hope" to do something, it looked like he didn't have any confidence in saying that.

His pace is gone, he is past it, but I doubt that there is one single United player or fan, who would not love to see Ryan Giggs managing United one day. Gotta love his spirit, his passion for the game, the club and supporters, his positivity and his determination to reverse the situation, even when it is obviously a bit too late to do something about it. What an absolutely fascinating end of such a stressful and gloomy season.

Who knew the season could end so positively? Imagine how depressed we'd all feel if Moyes was still there. We'd be fretting about Liverpool potentially as-good-as wrapping up the title tomorrow, we'd probably achieve a dull 0-0 tomorrow at home to Norwich and dreading the closed season when we'd spend probably £130m on Everton players.

Great press conference. Considering this was his first as manager, he looked really comfortable.

What a wonderful Friday, to be looking forward to Saturday again! Giggsy has been managed by Fergie all his life and United is in his blood. To go out, enjoy and win games. He's a natural telling us everything from his heart and what we like hearing.

His philosophy is Fergie's philosophy and united philosophy, which is enjoy what you're best at, and win. It's the certainty and confidence that are instilled in our players which make us the team to be feared. This week is already buzzing and this press conference confirms all the excitement we expect.

"We expect to win." Thank you Giggsy! Not overly confident but there's no other way of saying it. It's really a breath of fresh air we have been deprived of in the last eight months.

Can't wait for 5:30 tomorrow.

If we can't get our first choice in as the next manager, is it really the worst idea to give Giggs a try? Presuming it goes well between now and the summer?

This is exactly what the club needs imo. Something fresh and new and with a point to prove, and with an attitude to just go out believing we can beat teams rather than nullify them. That's what we haven't had for years. There needs to be knowhow to go with it, but supposing Giggs, with the likes of Scholes, Nevfille, etc. have that? It ticks more boxes than most other candidates would other than the very top choices.

He's got no management experience...except for working and being around Sir Alex Ferguson for 20+ years, at Manchester United, which is arguably better experience than 95% of other candidates will ever have.

We have an utterly meaningless game against Norwixh on Saturday and yet I'm looking forward to it more than I have any game for about 3 years, just because it feels like it'll be my football team again, if that makes sense.
