So a couple of days ago, he intimated that Woodward wanted to spend big on Cavani, we're probably talking £50 million. We're also spending £27 million on an 18 year old.

But we're not going to spend big in case van Gaal doesn't work.

This guy's starting to grate. He talks total nonsense. I can only assume he's an attention seeker, clueless or both.

The whole "Shaw and some Dutch kids" sounds like some of the crap our own negative nellys spout on here day after day.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
That De Brun guy tweeted last summer that we didn't have any money to spend because of the Zaha signing, he speaks absolute garbage. James Ducker actually responded to that tweet and told him what nonsense he was talking. Just because he gets guests on his show doesn't mean he knows anything.

Did anyone else talk about Konoplyanka to Manchester United other than Tom McDermott? It would be a good transfer because he's the kind of player that takes a lot of risks, the kind of winger I like and there's a rumored release clause that's not so high. I remember him playing against England and a few other matches during Euro 2012 and I thought he was very impressive back then and I'm surprised he hasn't moved to a better club after that tournament.

Football, bloody hell.
Well our squad isn't that bad and we know it should have done better, they won the league the season before last. However, even just in terms of numbers we need a centre-half and a central midfielder so the option to stick with what we have isn't even viable. Shaw, a CB (Martins Indi?) + one central midfielder is the minimum we could get away with and be competitive.

He was mentioned in De Telegraaf article in Holland last weekend as being one of van Gaal's four summer targets, along with Schweinsteiger, Hummels and Strootman (plus Shaw you would presume). Other than that I've only seen it in The Mirror which isn't the most reliable of course.

If we are interested, you'd expect on the face of it for that to be the easiest of those four to get across the line, unless another club hijacks it.

Whilst of course I recognise that basically all Tweets about transfers are complete crap, this scenario does sound infinitely more plausible than any of the tabloid ramblings about us spending £150m, £200m, or £500m on transfers.

Seriously?

A club in 7th place, going through a major squad upheavel with players outgoing, having hired a proven top class manager like Van Gaal is not going to trust him with spending the money he thinks is needed? What exactly are we saving it for? Which situation?

So ________ in ________ knows all about our transfer dealings. Ok.

Interchange the name & location of any journalist above.
True, but if it's a British journalist it's at least semi believable.

I hope it is crap and the club will spend at the rate required to get the team back where it has been in seasons gone by, but until it actually happens then I think being pessimistic is the safest approach. Mata and Fellaini are hopefully signs that the owners will sanction a decent budget this time round, but given some of the summers we're had in recent years, I remain sceptical.

I'm sure we will if we can get players to agree to come here. Even from a purely business POV, Glazers cant afford not to spend. All the money we make is built on success, they arent stupid.

Fjorfoft just tweeted that Muller was a number 1 target for Van Gaal but Bayern said not a chance.

Somebody then suggested that the response was not the sa me for Schweinsteiger and he retweeted it.

The thing is though, this is exactly the mindset that this de Brun fella has gone with with his 'journalism'. If he's right, he looks like he called it correctly. If he's wrong, he knows United fans will be too happy to care about or remember what he said.

Maybe LVG has come in and insisted Woody completely changes the transfer strategy? Like shouting 'look we have loadsa brass to throw about' is just asking to be ripped off. Since LVG took over everything seems to have gone quiet, to me this suggests he's told Woody to zip it!

I just cant see Pogba returning, especially when he's taken every chance to slate us in the public, calling his time at United the worst in his life etc.
Don't you know, we have a buy back clause of a crate of Crystal Champagne?

Would be fun to spread a rumour that we do have a buyback cause though. See how long it takes to get in the papers
