I was in hospital for 8 days with Pneumonia, it was a fecker to shift as a perfectly young healthy man. Let alone for someone in Michaels situation, Good luck!
I could never make that decision.Anybody watch that Louis Theroux doc the other day? 22 year old guy was in a vegetative state for around month and a half and the doctors told the family that he would be like that for the rest of his life and nothing would change. The family were actually, what I described as deluded, absolutely convinced that he would wake up and be the same guy, their religious faith having much to do with the unflinching belief. Turns out, the lucky bastard did just that.
Given what the doctors had said then I would have let go a hell of a lot earlier that they did. Goes to show though, when do you give up? In this case, given that the family can afford all kinds of treatment from the very best brains in the world, I can see this situation being prolonged for quite a while if they can bring him out of the coma successfully.
What is the doc called? The BBC reporting that he shows 'moments of consciousness' now. That must offer some hope he could recover to some level at least.
I saw the Theroux doco as well, it was possibly the most heart-breaking hour of television I've ever seen.
Louis Theroux's LA stories. It's the second episode of a 3 parter I believe. What is the doc called?
Thanks manLouis Theroux's LA stories. It's the second episode of a 3 parter I believe.
The lack of detail actually suggests the opposite. The BBC reporting that he shows 'moments of consciousness' now. That must offer some hope he could recover to some level at least.
Great news. So what was all that nonsense about no good news ever coming out about him.
He could be awfully damaged. I wouldn't go overboard on this all being good news yet.Great news. So what was all that nonsense about no good news ever coming out about him.
