Have a feeling we are going to look on Bebe in 1 or 2 years time and regret it if we sell him.

Watching videos of him last season, I'd like him to come on tour with us before the powers that be make a decision on selling him or not.
We really won't. He's going to be a back up at Benfica, he's no where near good enough for United.

I don´t agree with your or Arruda´s assessment. I think Bebe has potencial to become more than a back up at Benfica. There are some limitations to his game but he also has some interesting characteristics such as his physical power and shot.

The most important element in his evolution will be Jorge Jesus work with him. Everyone knows that Jorge Jesus is a very good man manager that usually brings out the best in players (as seen in Coentrão, Enzo Perez, Matic or Witsel). Jorge Jesus work will be crucial for Bebe to make the next step into a more regular and complete player.

Still have my skepticism towards him making it at United but he has potencial to be much more than just a "Varela". After Jesus does his work on Bebe i can see him becoming an interesting player for our national team. We are clearly lacking players with his caractherisitics.

I'm personally gutted about this one as I see a lot of raw talent in Bebe. He's got pace and strength, he can dribble and he can hit a wicked long shot. We've been missing a player with those attributes since Ronaldo left.

Considering his form last season, I would have thought we'd give him a run out at pre season and if he impressed then maybe we could mold him into the first team. The guy has improved drastically over the past year or so. So much that Portuguese fans were calling for him to be in the World Cup squad. And he should have been.

I'd rank him above Ashley Young for sure. I think we're gonna regret this transfer if it goes through. We already regret the Pogba one and the Pique one. I think Bebe is gonna be one of those players like Hulk where he'll move to a big club in a few years time for around 30m. For all the flack he got, I think we'll probably make that 7m back so the transfer itself was no big loss really.

I had hopes he would come back, but also feel its important for his development that he play first team football. He would almost certainly not get that at United.

Done feck all to suggest he's better than Young & we definitely won't make the £7m back, he's got a year left on his deal and wants out.

He´s very close to joining Benfica. Like i said Jorge Jesus will be a crucial element in his evolution. With his influence and track record with other players, i think Bebe will benefit from his work.

Anyone getting sore at losing Bebe, and im being genuine here,go seek some professional help.

Yeah theres club and player loyalties and all,but there is also being a mentalist.

He was never cut out for us and was never going to make the grade.

Why? You're quite wrong in your assertion and clearly never saw/knew much about him other than a few early premiership appearances after he'd recently just started playing football.

Bebé has led a very strange life and is quite an interesting case, he has a lot of raw talent and I think he will start to fill some of it after he got his head down last season and did very well, albeit in a second rate league, he excelled.

I think it's for the best, whilst there is clearly the talent there, I think he's a classic example of a player that didn't get top quality coaching and development between 8 and 14. There's basic flaws in his game that can't be eradicated, it's too late.

For me, it's one of these great "what ifs?', if he'd been through an academy at a big club I think he'd be a much more complete and successful player.

Yeah saw quite a bit of him sitting on our bench, playing crap in the reserves and has easily been one of the worst crossers of a football ive ever seen.

Give me a football and Bebe a football and ill put it on your head more times than he will.

So what if he was a sadcase, and im notbeing harsh it was you who brought up his hardlife, and so he performed a little better in the portugese second league, come on mate.

The only assertion that is incorrect here is that you think im being glib and havnt followed his form,i have, and i think hes not cut out for us.

I pointed out he had just started playing professional football by that point, but yes it was an awful showing, I never said any different.

If you seriously believe that, then you should question what you're doing as I doubt you make what Bebé does.

Sadcase? It's not that at all, he did have a hard life, but I'm not asking you to shed a tear, merely expect that his ability may not come to the fore as early as other's bloom.

You clearly haven't seen much of his time away from us last season, or, alternatively, if you have and have drawn this conclusion then we should agree to disagree.

It was the Portuguese PREMIER league. Not the second league. Something tells me you haven't actually watched him at all and if you genuinely think you're a better player than him, then why are you not the one playing for United? I think that's ridiculous talk.

As for the crossing thing, that was one game where Ferguson shoved him right into the team pre maturely. It was 4 years ago. You can't judge a player on what he did 4 years ago. Besides there was talk about us buying Carvalho for 35 million and Mangala for 40 million... If they were tipped for their great performances in the Portuguese league, then why not Bebe? Or is it only second rate when it suits peoples opinions?

Pacos played in the first division,i forgot the primerea division was called that and worded it wrong again.

Anyway,i stand by that 1.He hasnt shown any consistency/quality to make it here and he should leave.2.Hes skillset is mediocre at best and has been a waste of the clubs time.

7 million for what? Im all for long shots<which his is also overhyped>but lads hes been a calamity.

Your entitled to your own view mate but your last point about agreeing to disagree well,no.

Cant wait for him to released and let any number of youngsters get a stab in the team ahead of him.

Given his scoring record in Portuguese League last season, it won't be unreasonable to ask 8m for him, minimum.

I reckon Bebe could go to Benfica now, score twenty goals and earn a move to a bigger club, and there'd still be idiots going "BUT HE WAS REALLY BAD AGAINST WOLVES."

Only has 1 year left on his contract. It should be about 4m euros for a player like Bebe tbh.
ffs. We should have at least given him contract extension if we were just loaning him around. Ya, if it is 1 year only left, then 4-5m euros is max we can get.

In the great scheme of things, I don't think it really matters any more how much our players are sold for. Ferguson always believed in selling the player to the right club, let's face it, 2/3m euros isn't a great deal to us. Everyone knows that too and takes the piss, but so be it. Bebe's going to a great club, I wish him the best.

Ya I too am happy that he will play at Benfica and hopefully will turn out decent for them. That said, all these 3-4m Euros matter too. We are not in that situation, but imagine missing FFP targets by few millions. On other hand, renewing players contracts also costs money and invariably means raised salary so hopefully all things considered we would have cut losses on him as much as possible when he leaves.

I doubt he'd every become a main starter at Benfica or even have regular appearances at that club. How will he get ahead of the likes of Gaitan and Salvio? There's also Djuricic and Markovic ahead of him. There are also young, promising players like Cavaleiro and Ola John ahead of him. If we're looking at the striker role, then there's Rodrigo, Cardozo, and Lima ahead of him.

Nah, I don't think Jesus actually wants him at Benfica unless he wants to have Gaitan play through the middle, sell Markovic, John, and Rodrigo, and loan out Cavaleiro. Only then can I see space for Bebe in the Benfica squad.

Markovic is gone, as is Rodrigo. Gaitan's close to moving to Atletico, John will probably go out on loan again & Bebe will be above Cavaleiro in the pecking order. He won't be first choice but he'll certainly play a part and Jorge Jesus is the one who wants him.

Markovic is signing for Liverpool, Bebe is probably the replacement

Rodrigo was bought by Lim's third party company and has since bought Valencia, Rodrigo is going there

Markovic is LFC player and Gaitan is Zenit's.

I think he wants to leave himself and that'd be better for his development than be at best a Backup player here.

Bebe's missed his football education and is surviving on natural talent alone, not enough for the highest level.
