Can no one see Blackett coming back in after suspension?

Is Jones supposed to be 100% fit for this?
I don't see why blackett would start when we have Rojo and Shaw fit and LvG insisted he won't play 2 left-footed CB's.

He'd have to replace one of Rojo or Shaw. Can't really see that unless Van Gaal thinks Rojo isn't ready due to jet-lag. LVG definitely won't play 3 left footers in a 4-man defence.

I have a feeling Fellaini will be started in place of herrera, no need to risk losing him for too long. Hopefully Fellaini proves us all wrong and shows he isn't useless, if he does play.

    De Gea
    Rafael Jones/McNair Rojo Shaw
    Blind Carrick (if fit enough)
    Herrera
    Januzaj Di Maria
    Falcao
    NcNair is injured.

    I think it will be

    Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera* ____Di Maria
    Mata
    Januzaj**
    ____Falcao

    * Herrera will depend if he going to play with the corset or not. I really want him to play because I don"t want to see Fellaini there, but at the same time I don't want them to risk his injury. Maybe LVG will play Fletcher there to.

** That if the Januzaj agent told is true that he will start for this game.

No need to rest Di Maria. I hope one of either Falcao or Di Maria can put on a Aguero/Tadic -esque performance. With the potent attack we have, I am anticipating a mauling against one of these smaller teams sooner or later. Here's hoping I get to see it against West Brom.

Would like to see that.If we did play those payers then hopefully it would be in a 433.I'm also really hoping our attackers (besides Di Maria) really kick on in this game and put a few past this lot, want to see good games from Mata and Falcao in particular.

The last four games have been much better, the only freak result was against leicester. (but we all know that 3 of the 5 goals from leicester shouldn't have happened)

Easy win, the only danger is that the whole team turns into brainless zombies in the last 30 minutes and keep pumping the ball into nowhere.

Or Fellani somehow managed to get onto the pitch.

Feck. I've a driving lesson at 7 tomorrow. Hopefully I don't miss the start.
I've got my practical test at 8 tomorrow. Fortunately in the morning though!

It will be interesting to see how we line-up. The large majority of the team selects itself and I expect van Gaal to deploy the diamond again, but with Valencia injured and LvG's tendency to work players back into fitness following injury it might mean Herrera starting on the bench. Suppose it will be a straight fight between Fletcher and Fellaini for the right side of midfield, though I hope Pereira comes into the equation.

Want to see a difference, last season when are rivals dropped points, very often we also did. I want us to stretch the gap with our rivals this season. If we win this one, and lose against Chelsea, we will still be ahead of them. That's a good scenario.

And it's been three months right? LVG was going on about how his teams start to perform after three months, hope we are starting to see the United that we want to see.
They are starting to perform right? the leicester game was not really the teams fault.

Would be a great lineup IMO. Januzaj can drift wide and turn it into a 4-3-3 at times when Di Maria also goes wide on the other side. There's a chance to see it too, given RvP's form (or lack of it) and having played 2 games for the national team, and not performing in either. Mata will definitely play given he didn't have international duty, the only concern is whether Herrera will be in the side or not risked because of Chelsea. Having a fully fit defence gives me a lot more confidence though.

We are starting after the international break and going to play couple of toughest opponents in the following two matches, hence this is the game to rotate and give chances for players who haven't got enough mins and havent played during the international break. There is no urgent need of rotating as it is a monday fixture and we have plenty of time between the games but still to maintain the harmony in the team LVG should find a way to keep all the players happy and still play a strong team for the away fixture.

    I would go with

    De Gea
    Rafael - Jones - Rojo - Shaw
    Carrick Blind
    Januzaj Mata Di Maria
    Falcao

I have made two changes from our strongest XI.
Carrick instead of Herrera, as Herrera is better rested as he may not be fully fit and Carrick needs game time before the next two tough fixtures.
Januzaj has to start as he is not going to start in the next couple of matches. It shouldn't be instead of Mata in number 10 position.
As Mata may have to stay on the bench, once Rooney comes back so its better to give him as much chance when possible. To play Januzaj and Mata in their best positons, it has to be a single striker formation. RVP is left out to get some rest as he would be starting in the Chelsea match. Falcao is not rested as he is in good goalscoring form.
As it is an away game, 4231 with 2 deep lying midfielders would be better suited than the more gung-ho 442 diamond which we play without a proper defensive midfielder. Also, before the big games we need to find an alternate formation instead of going into every game with 3 strikers.

I would really like to see Januzaj or Pereira starting. I know it won't happen but I don't feel there is a need to rush Herrera and this would be a very good opportunity to see Pereira, who I have been very impressed with, copes with the big-name players beside him. Will he continue his own game or will he shy away, I believe he will shine. And for Adnan, I think we all want to see him have the Sterling year this year. His ceiling is as high as any young player right now.

I know Rooney is out, but do you honestly think LvG would bench Rooney and RvP just so Januzaj can start ?

Who will be in charge of the whistle? With Chelsea and City coming up this is a must win. But unlike as many others here i expect a 50-50 game. It´s away, it´s a floodlight game. The players know we haven´t won away from home so far, they know how they fell apart at Leicester. Will be a tough fight, we need our special players to create special things up front, combined with a solid back 4. I go for 2-1 United.

We will win. Let's be positive here. Pretty certain what happened with Leicester won't be repeated. Having said that, I sure hope we get a decent ref this time.

There is a chance to bench Van Persie I think, more of a chance to rotate now then we'll likely have until the christmas fixture list starts. Van Persie played 180 minutes for Netherlands over the weekend, had the travel time and all that and generally, including those, hasn't been in great form. Could be a chance to give Januzaj a game with Rooney also being suspended, also to rest Van Persie for the Chelsea game as this is on monday.
