So you didn't read what I said about those players then .. 4th/5th choices, both very young and showing promise, I hardly made them out to be superstars ! However if that's the spin you're putting on my words *shrugs*But to be perfectly honest, I'm fine with you believing that Ilori and Origi are strong reinforcements for Liverpool, I won't be the disappointed one.
You know he's playing poorly when even Liverpool fans aren't bigging him up at the moment.Pretty sure I read somewhere a few months back that Origi went 6 months without scoring in Ligue 1 this season. Playing as an attacking player that's shockingly bad.
Quick check : he's got 9 in 41 games this season (6 : 35 last and 1 : 10 the season before). He's barely turned 20 yrs old and this is only his 2nd real season so I'd hardly be willing to write off a young player, much vaunted by the Belgian national team players (Kompany et al) based on some inconsistency, what 19/20 yr is ?Pretty sure I read somewhere a few months back that Origi went 6 months without scoring in Ligue 1 this season. Playing as an attacking player that's shockingly bad.
Luckily for him that's exactly the case at Liverpool with regards to the one striker who will be ahead of him in the pecking order.Usually these arrangement with talents simply don’t work out in the EPL. He needs to play even if his performances are inconsistent/bad, but he won’t be able to do that as 3rd-4th option. It’s one of those “lets take a gamble and see if he comes good signings” that never come good until you actually trust the player. He´ll be benched most of the time until someone is injured and then people will criticize him for not being good enough.
Ha ha ! Indeed. Don't know why I'm laughingLuckily for him that's exactly the case at Liverpool with regards to the one striker who will be ahead of him in the pecking order.
I have the same hopes for him as I did for Ibe when we recalled him at Xmas. I wanted both recalled but we didn't pay the 6 million early release clause. Shame as Origi could have had a good 6 month settling in period like Ibe has had.Isn't Origi slated to join them Summer. What are the Liverpool fans thoughts on him

I don't think Sterling will be there next season and Sturridge is ridiculously injury prone... I think Liverpool may well be dependent on Origi at times next season, definitely.Ings wouldn’t be automatically behind him and X+ Sturridge are clearly ahead of him. Furthermore Rodgers could play Sterling up front again or go back to a formation with just one central forward. Do you honestly believe, that Rodgers will have the patience to stick to Origi, if he doesn’t have an immediate impact? His job will be one the line next season, if he doesn’t reach top4. For me Origi to Liverpool looks similar to ”Zaha to United”. Yes there is always possible, that he bangs them in left, right and center, but it’s much more likely that he´ll end up like Borini.
Can't stop myself - I've just got to come back to this post. And so it goes on with you guys.
The real problem with your squad lies in defence and midfield. Once Slippy has gone, you need to build around your two most impressive players - Henderson and Coutinho. There needs to be a rethink about how your defence works and a stronger link up with defending midfield. When that system breaks down you team looks all over the place. Your last game in Europe, Besiktas?, was horrible to watch and that kind of performance has plagued you all season - home and away. I wouldn't focus so much on Balotelli, but rather the likes of Moreno, Can and Johnson. Moreno because he's too often caught out, Can because deep inside he's not a bad player, and off loading Johnson. Mostly I would put last season's expenditures under the microscope and think about a better transfer policy.
God forbid. Ban that notion.Furthermore Rodgers could play Sterling up front again ............

I could replace Balotelli so that doesn't really mean much.Ibe really looks a talent. Just needs to get some end product to go with his Flair. I can only remember Origi from world cup. he looked bright and certainly was a better option to Lukaku at the time but still very raw. Looks like he could replace balotelli though
1. Actually because your magnificent side let in 5 goals against us!Can't stop myself - I've just got to come back to this post.
Goals 50% down on last season yet Defence and Midfield are our real problems ? Oh dear. You will not find a lot of takers for that postulation. Strikers are first and foremost the issue considering our main striker's love of physiotherapy, had we had any sort of decent back-up to Sturridge then we'd have finished Top 4 this season even with CL/EL football and two domestic cup runs. If it turns out to be Sturridge, A.N.Other, Ings and Origi for next season then that will be a dramatic improvement over this season's.
1. > As far as our defence is concerned, why are most United fans so absorbed in this aspect of our team, seeing it as our major weakness ? We've only conceded 3 goals more than United this season and yet have suffered almost as badly with injuries (and suspensions); Sakho, Johnson, Flanno have all missed major chunks (or all of the season in Flanno's case) and we've had to resort to Can as a CB or RFB, which he really isn't, and two young lads who I can't imagine were brought in as first teamers (I'd have expected Moreno to challenge Johnson/Flanno for the LB slot but Manquillo to be a pure squaddie). Then there's Lovren, who's looked a lot lot better of late and may even start to pay back some of his fee next season (though not as first choice). I don't think we'll see major surgery there, a new RB and possibly a CB if Toure leaves as expected.
In midfield I'd agree that Allen is nothing more than a squad filler and with Gerrard leaving there's a major space waiting to be filled. 2. > But our best form of the season (after our abdication from the EL) coincided with Lucas sitting in front of the back three. I wouldn't worry too much about Coutinho's position, after all that is supposedly Lallana's best position and I expect he will be filling in there next season whenever the little maestro is absent. Hendo's form has been pretty horrendous of late but Lucas, New Signing, Hendo and Coutinho with Sterling / Ibe / Lallana and Markovic for the wide slots, should form a pretty good midfield. Especially if the new midfielder is the headline signing Gerrard / Carra et al. are insisting is essential.
3. > Your last sentence is pretty funny though, considering three of the biggest failures of the season are plying their trade at OT (maybe we can give one a pass for his injuries)
When he slipped you were in the driving seat, one hand on the championship and you worked incredibly hard to get there, after the slip proceeded to abandon the teamwork and tried to selfishly win the match with the many long range shots he took. I'm not surprised, look at how emotional he was after the City win, a captain that's calm under pressure is preferable, now he's gone perhaps you guys can build a team that actually wins a title.I understand opposition fans making large of that but seriously .. how about the other games we fecked up in, or at the very least our strikers failing to score against Chelsea in that match ? His slip didn't cost us the title, the team's performance over 38 matches did.
I just don't see them having a proper spending spree, I can't see how they could afford it,.Liverpool must be very careful in the next decision they make. Another spending spree like last summer and failing top 4 again would surely be a big financial blow. Very big decision on owner's hands of whom to trust with the budget. At the end of the day Rodgers spent a lot of money on many difference players and only Coutinho and Can can be deemed as a success.
You really have to wonder why the local Scouse rag carried their main picture of Slippy with him being sent off after 40 seconds against us, rather than him lifting a cup to mark the end of his 17 year carrier. It's like MEN posting a picture of Eric's Kung Fu tackle to poster his career, never happen. Well he goes with regrets over the league and thanks to that rag with those 40 minutes framing his career. Yes, that was certainly an excellent article, thank you.Excellent interview with Stevie :

It's the high content of Scouse that permeates the pundit masses in media land. Best avoided unless you have your Bullsh*t repellant shirt.Could someone explain me that media obsession with Stevie and portraying him like a saint, saviour, father of football..
I bet we'll hear and read about Stevie's American carrer to no end next season. Did he play, how much did he play, where he bought a house, with which celebrety did he hang out, where did he slip and how. It's the high content of Scouse that permeates the pundit masses in media land. I hear they had to employ a translator for his press cons. Imagine if that donkey Carra joins him over there?I bet we'll hear and read about Stevie's American carrer to no end next season. Did he play, how much did he play, where he bought a house, with which celebrety did he hang out, where did he slip and how.
Its the same with big brave John Terry..two obvious cnuts they like to shove down our throats. Football media is littered with former chavs and dippers!Could someone explain me that media obsession with Stevie and portraying him like a saint, saviour, father of football..
Yeah, when Scholes and Giggs were retiring I really cant remember media being that full of articles, interviews, everything...Its the same with big brave John Terry..two obvious cnuts they like to shove down our throats. Football media is littered with former chavs and dippers!
Yeah, when Scholes and Giggs were retiring I really cant remember media being that full of articles, interviews, everything...
The media thrive on losers. Scouse media pundits thrive on victims = Slippy. Although the Scouse Echo headlines Slippy's demise against us as their lead photo. I reckon some Manc sneaked in there!!Its the same with big brave John Terry..two obvious cnuts they like to shove down our throats. Football media is littered with former chavs and dippers!
Yeah that's really strange, of all the pics they choosed the one of his last derby. The media thrive on losers. Scouse media pundits thrive on victims = Slippy. Although the Scouse Echo headlines Slippy's demise against us as their lead photo. I reckon some Manc sneaked in there!!
I do believe the emo was a scouse inventionThe media thrive on losers. Scouse media pundits thrive on victims = Slippy. Although the Scouse Echo headlines Slippy's demise against us as their lead photo. I reckon some Manc sneaked in there!!
Yeah this was my thought too. I have no problem with the media being Gerrard centric but it seems quite lopsided compared to what a few other players have gotten.Yeah, when Scholes and Giggs were retiring I really cant remember media being that full of articles, interviews, everything...
TBF Giggs got his own documentary on ITV, still that was because he became interim manager though.Yeah this was my thought too. I have no problem with the media being Gerrard centric but it seems quite lopsided compared to what a few other players have gotten.
Not that I would want them to win the PL but it might be worth it to see Gerrard weep at the sight of his beloved team winning it without him. When he slipped you were in the driving seat, one hand on the championship and you worked incredibly hard to get there, after the slip proceeded to abandon the teamwork and tried to selfishly win the match with the many long range shots he took. Its pretty ridiculous, there isnt a day with at least one Gerrard article. Stevie this Stevie that, which is your favorite goal, favorite game, top 5 goals, top 5 games, this, that, its making me puke how much of it there is all around.Scholes and Giggs were 2 of the most decorated players of all time and they never made all this fuss , they actually retired too whereas Gerrard is moving to another club . Just shows how pro Liverpool the media is .
